  1. Been injured most of his career, tbh. Aye, and why a random thought is the only way he'd ever get a mention in a WC thread.
  2. The Americants have showed up.
  3. That's what being injured for a year can do to you!
  4. Harper Taylor Wheater Johnson Carrick Shola Carroll Fill that with whoever else I've forgotten, and I'd fancy our chances of losing. Martin Taylor Jack Colback Peter Damage Harper S.Taylor Wheater M. Taylor Grounds Cattermole Carrick Johnson Chopra Ameobi Carroll i would drop ameobi and put chris basham in the middle. didn't know he was a local lad, always thought he has potential.

  6. American coach calling for a time out.
  7. If America made this their number one sport we'd be all fuked. 1-0
  8. When did Maxi Jazz become a ref?
  9. Gooch never ever looks like scoring an own goal, far too composed, shame it didn't work out here for him.
  10. Is a draw best for England then?
  11. I admire your optimism but can you really see Heskey, Lennon, Wright Phillips, Johnson, Carragher, Barry, Green, James as world cup winners?????? I also think your assessment of the other teams above is totally misguided. Germany were playing dog turd though, one of the weakest teams every to have come to a World Cup, they didn't even have any strikers on the pitch, had to rely on a CM, that's how shocking they were. And now the Germans have been beaten, no one is looking 100%, were not but its a better start than most. Plus I never said win it, just go as far as we've been in a while. My assessment of other teams is spot on tbh.
  12. Carroll's got some neck on him. smith's looking as if, you sure this is it?
  13. Probably the first time i ever reffed. It was in high school, and was only for about 10mins but straight away a foul happened and it was against one of the players whose team i was just on, not being a ref before i pointed to award a freekick for my team mates, not the direction of the game so it went against them, everyone was kicking off, teacher just laughed and said its up to him, i was so embarrassed i just stuck with my decision not to make a bigger fool of myself. Even now it haunts me, everytime i see a ref pointing it brings memories back and i have to pause to see which way the freekick has been awarded, its like a total mental block, its fuked me up for life!
  14. Apart from the Germans there's nothing that's really stood out so far, and they did it against absolute dog turd players, 10 of them as well. Argentina look alright going forward, but their game yesterday flattered them, easiest hat trick i've ever seen, regardless of that, defensively they are woeful and easy to beat. Spain didn't step up, Portugal we'd hammer, Italy have nothing in attack, Brazil don't look their super quality selves though are probably the most dangerous in the tournament so far with Spain choking. As long as Germany are put out by someone else we've got a good chance of going far, as far as we've been for a while, and that's not really down to us right now, its down to other teams being just as bad or shitter than us.
  15. Best save I ever made wasn't actually on the pitch, it was when i was a 17 year old glass collector in Whitley. Bank holiday Monday jammed to the rafters, doing me job, had a stack of glasses in one arm while adding to the pack with the free hand, squeezing my way through just about to get to the bar when some lad accidentally knocked two glasses off the bar, one which I caught with my free hand, the other with my foot to stop it smashing while still keeping a hold of the stack, turned around and some guy said "Nice save" and smiled...It was Shay Given. That was it for me, favourite NUFC player from thereon in. Such a shame the bastard broke my heart.
  16. Looks like the only gay in the village.
  17. I know what you mean. Maybe that's how they sold it to Ashley. "I don't like it" "But Mr Ashley, you can eat the badge" "Oooo...I'll take a million!"
  18. The collar looks like a 5 year old has been let loose with a pair of scissors.
  19. The material and design of the home shirt looks class, it's just butchered by the logo, badge and sponsor. Which is a shame. There's nothing like seeing it in the flesh and having a wear, but from the released photos it looks tacky. Thing is all they've really got to do is position the logo, badge and sponsor, its not rocket science. Then add an attractive collar/no collar styling , which they haven't done well either. They had a chance to play about with it, especially the 3rd kit, i'd have gone a little outside the box and make something special, if it didn't sell well then fine, it was their first attempt, but to go with what has bene done before, yet do a worse job is not a great start for our new manufactures.
  20. It's like they've never designed a football strip before. In fact I reckon it probably would have been better if we went with someone who hasn't as they'd have a proper pop at making a decent and interesting top, not some shit we've all seen before 10s of years ago. Ashley honestly holds us in the lowest regard, we'll pay top whack for any old shit on and off the field. There's absolutely no chance I'm going anywhere near that crap, think i'll wait for the fake ones from China, they'll no doubt be better quality.
  21. Bollocks. I like them. That nails it then.
