  1. I was hoping he'd have a great WC and attract lots of interest. Shame for him and us.

The creation of St James was necessary because Ashley needed to create a vehicle to do the Newcastle transaction in the first place. That is normal. Why MASH is being created is anybody's guess, maybe Ashley wants to build an empire of investments of this type and lump them all under one umbrella, only he (or his advisors) would know. The Newcastle United companies were in existence in that structure when Ashley bought the club as far as I can see. Edit: can't see it having any impact on overdrafts as the bank would look at its overall exposure to the Group. Cheers. Could Ashley in essence make Sports Direct buy NUFC and lumber half of the problem on the shareholders?

Why have several companies owning each other and only the one each? Is it just so they can get separate overdrafts so banks don't try to call them in? The whole thing just seems a tad far fetched, is this normal practise?
  4. Pienaar out of contract? We should go for him (FM has us listed as his fav club )
  5. Morten Gamst? Sorry, yes. I should've put that in. Now edited. It's been a while since he's been really good, though would have made a good squad place here. Shame, but I bet he's getting paid more than he's worth.
  6. His own strikers body language makes him look gutted it went in. Either had money on to go down, would be able to leave for free or is a right selfish bastard and wanted the glory himself.
  7. On the other hand you could be stuck all season next to a smelly one, with no breaks of fresh air all season long. I bet the first match back is a nervous time until you see your new seating fans.
  8. What an absolute load of bollocks. The source of it is no surprise though. Meaning? I thought it was a red, other people did as well as the ref. Problem with that?
  9. It was easily a straight red, could have ended a career. He still said them regardless, while putting in nothing all season to help us stay and keep out of relegation, he had no place to say anything and showed just how professional he is. If we could have sold the waste of skin we would have, unfortunately no one is daft enough to even take him for free.
  10. That is nice, still like the shoulders on the other though.
  11. Except for the last 2 years. A year ago he was shouting at Alan Shearer calling him a shit manager after another shit tackle getting himself sent off, he then misses most of the season through another injury. How is that living up to his shit patter of being a better man and a better footballer?
  12. Barton has always talked a good story, has yet to live it.
  13. Better than what we've got and what we paid money for in January.
  14. Scholes lol. Oh shit Shearer isn't gonna make it either and I hear Pele is struggling with an injury to his limp dick.
  15. His stock keeps rising, shame we (the club) were so short sighted (including many of the fans) he would never had made it so well with us, aside from the instability due to constant board and managerial changes lets face it we've not exactly got a track record of coaching the best out of players have we? i remember brummie saying he thought villas coaches would get a lot out of milner when they signed him and he's right, that shits not just happening by accident and our players mostly regress for that exact reason imo It didn't stop so many people calling him shit. I've previously mentioned the stability and coaching problems regarding Taylor's development (and Milner's so i agree entirely) apparently (those on here) reckon it wasn't a factor in his development, and he is just shit as well, and when he fuks off to another club and shines we will just have to sit back and look at our best young players blossoming elsewhere. Zoggy & Milner should be lesson learned, we sold them for £18m, wigan now want £15m for Zoggy, and Villa £25m for Milner, it makes my heart bleed considering our financial situation.
  16. I don't think our major selling point (Big crowd) will entice him, I think he wants a bit more, stability and challenge in Europe that he didn't get with Rangers. He won't get that at Birmingham or Boro or Turkey either. All he can hope for is a step up in league quality to prove himself. ie the Prem, or get a s*** load of money abroad playing in another piss league but this time getting a tan. Depends where in Turkey. Off those 4 It's blatantly obvious where he will go, he seemed to have a good relationship with McLeish if memory serves. I forgot about that rather large link. Bastards.

  18. Locality has to be a huge factor as well, we should be top of his lists, he could probably still live in Scotland.
  19. We will see. The current crop of players will begin the season in a settled side that has a much better understanding of each other and a much better harmony as a squad. In an ideal world I'd like us to do our business quickly and efficently, times more so the season before last deas like the Coloccini one dragged. It be good for the new lads to have a full pre-season and lots of sessions with their new team-mates. I'm wary of doing business once the seasons started really. I just hope we don't fall in to the trap that because everyone else isn't making much noise with the WC coming along so we do them same. We shouldn't be shopping in the WC, we should know our targets now and working on deals before a ball is even kicked in anger at the WC.
  20. I'd leave it at anything over £25k tbh, same with anyone who hasn't played in the Premiership. I don't think we'd get anything for Lovenkrands, and reportedly his wages are low, therefore ideal back-up in my eyes. If we could get any money for him i'd sell him though, shifting Best is going to be monumental and a big challenge this summer. Probably a championship loan then given away the following year. I think we should go for Senderos and Scharner for mid. Scharner has said his wants a midfield role and in the prem, i think he'd be a fantastic replacement for Butt.
  21. His stock keeps rising, shame we (the club) were so short sighted (including many of the fans)
  22. Beckford is a potential target until he signs for another club, it's an option till then. Villa are apparently top of the pile now since Lerner has said he's cutting back on spending. Would you offload Lovenkrands? I think his pace is useful, even if its as a sub. Boyd's got some canny financial offers from Turkey, and an offer from boro lol.
  23. I think we should go for Boyd and Beckford while offloading Best and ameobi if anyone will have them, then stick in a cash bid for Maynard. It probably wouldn't be everyone's ideal set-up but I feel there's goals in that lot. 4 relatively young British strikers battling it out for positions while being no stand out favourite could be very healthy competition. Whatever we do we need to be looking at the free market, there's plenty of talent out there and we could take 5-6 names and create an impressive squad.
