As i've said before i'd go for a young English LB to understudy Enrique. Joe Mattock sounds very promising from what i hear.
-
Needs to work on his positioning but that like most young defenders will only get better with age & experience. I think his positioning is his strength. Weird how people can see completely opposite things in players. His positioning is excellent. For me all he lacks is experience.

Aye, but i didn't read it, surely it was a pisstake

An optimistic £40-50m Probably about £30-40m net. I can see us getting rid of at least 6 players, some free, and i can see us bringing in 10 players.

Tell you what, the guy to the left of Ashley really looks like him, and the guy to the right of Mort really looks like him as well!

I believe fuk all that comes out of any the mouths of KK, Mort & Ashley. Why would anyone show their cards even before the season is over? Why would they want people to know who they are going for? How much money they have to spend? What positions they see as needing filled? To upset current playing staff who they still need to do a job? If they've got a brain between them were going to know jack shit until its done. I'm more than happy with that.

Please tell me you are really a toon fan having a laugh and this isn't actually a serious mackem. mackems.gif

Stick a tenner on. Imaging winning £350 on the day the mackems went down Amazing. They could easily lose all three of those games, the problem is what others do around them. Really, you are betting on the other teams rather than them.
-
Yep, unfortunately even if they do lose all three remaining games i can't see them going down either. I suppose its 6 easy points next season for us though
-
Bit like you then. nah more like saddo's like yourself that continuously quote me and have a go . Now now, lets not cry over nowt like KD does everytime. You don't want to be seen as a little 'girl thingy' now do you? mackems.gif You are good to laugh at mate, i'll give you that.

Rafa Benitez believes club owner Roman Abramovich is more important to Chelsea than either manager Avram Grant or former boss Jose Mourinho. Liverpool chief Benitez is preparing his side for Tuesday's UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg at Anfield as the Reds take on Chelsea in the final four in Europe for the third time in four seasons. The Reds enjoy the edge over Chelsea having twice knocked their West London opponents, who were then under the leadership of Mourinho, out at the semi-final stage. Benitez and Mourinho - who made a shock departure from Stamford Bridge in September last year - experienced a fiery relationship, but the former appears keen to retain the tense rivalry with Chelsea after claiming that Abramovich is more important to the Blues than current boss Grant. Key "The key to them is Abramovich," said Benitez. "The only difference I see between Mourinho and Grant is in their press conferences! "I watched the game at Everton and they were playing the same as they always did. "They have been in the final of the Carling Cup, they face us in the semi-finals of the Champions League and they are still in the race for the title. "They have enough good players to win. So we must be really careful and have a lot of respect for them." Under pressure Benitez, though, does not want to criticise Grant - who has come under pressure following a difficult first season in charge of Chelsea - but the Spaniard admits that he is glad to see the back of Mourinho. "I don't like to talk about Grant," added Benitez. "As a manager, I have a lot of respect for him because he's being correct. I have nothing bad to say. "The media might miss Mourinho, but not me. I have enough things to do in Liverpool now. At the end of the day, the players are the key more than the managers. "Managers can talk before the game but, during the game, the players make the difference. "The best thing for a manager to do is not create any mess so the players can just play."

As always the game stretches after the 60min mark, and the most valuable weapon for me when that happens is pace upfront against tired legs and minds. We took it off, and even if Martins couldn't grab one himself he'd have caused so much havoc in the later stages i think we'd have bagged at least another goal. But really in the end of the day 2-0 was enough and it didn't really matter too much but at the time i thought it was a stupid decision.

Probably the 'going' at the end mate, doesn't fit.

You get more at Plaza Pizza on a quiet Friday night.

I think its ironic more than anything else.

Strong rumours doing the rounds now that this is a piece of PR put out by the police to calm the situation. Loads of trouble and a stabbing in town last night after the news broke, tensions running very high apparently. Personally I hope it does turn out to have been another Villa fan, else things are just going to get nastier. Bet the Asian community is queuing up for tickets now.

Everton got a bargain in Arteta. How they picked him out i don't know. Didn't Everton buy Arteta from Spain?
-
They'll never look at us for anything like that. It wouldn't even cross their tiny minds. You mean like when two of your players won the Young Player Of The Year award two seasons running? When we were flying and the media darlings? So is it the media or players who vote for the team? You think footballers are intelligent enough to make up their own minds?
