Again what happened at Athens, what happened at Villa, what happened to the toilets etc at Old Trafford, what with Alan Smiths ambulance? Yeah, evil tabloids are at work, they are to blame. Grow up and take some responsibility for your fans actions for a change instead of blaming everyone else.

It's just another excuse to have a few cheap shots over a non-news story and an idea a huge majority of LFC fans find distasteful. Take a trip to any LFC forum and you'll see comments describing it as eerie/mawkish and asking what is wrong with the current memorial. Or you can continue to spout inaccurate generalisations as it fits the stereotype you want to portray. Stereotypes? I'm sorry, what happened in Athens again?

Spot on. Things keep going the way they are this time next season were pulling away form Spurs in every aspect. The potential of the club is much greater than Spurs, always has been, always will be and that's what attracted Ashley to the club. Spurs are running at 95% of its potential, were about 60% and ATM there is nothing apart from a season between us. -
VERY hard to prove, and if they've gone to those lengths even more so. I doubt he'd take the risk of losing millions on that chance.
-
Fuk that. I hope he stays and fuks them off like Souness did to us. Stay until i'm sacked, and take every penny i am owed with me, and in the meantime i'll let the players do what they want and pick the team out of a hat. A|ye that would be class. Spurs have treated him worse than we did with Sir Bob. Its unbelievable to think that a club that kept moving forward under his reign has fallen apart in a matter of 3 games. It is worse than SBR, as SBR needed to go in the summer, Jol deserves a crack at this season at least, if this happened this time next season i'd partly understand, but now, the timing is as terrible as you can possibly get.
-
And your point is? This has nothing to do with Newcastle's reputation, the thread is about Liverpool and how hypocritical their fans are, not Newcastle United fans. I am saying lets have a little bit less hypocritical holier-than-thou attititude towards other fans (regardless of who they support). Perhaps I mentioned Newcastle Utd fans because this is a Newcastle forum... There are times when I have been really proud of supporting Newcastle mainly after various cup-final / semi final defeats and the fans have been superb. Other times I havent been proud at all. Before we throw dirt at others we should admit we ain't so perfect and the dirt can come back the other way. Yes we've had our problems just like any other club, and we acknowledge them and things for most part have changed. That cannot be said of the Liverpool fans, and that is the point, nothing else. Don't try and turn this into a glass house scenario, because it simply isn't about that and you should know it.

How to destroy your season in one easy step. mackems.gif What else is he to do now though? Has the man got enough in him to keep battling against the entire club? The fans want him to stay, but is that enough? I don't think he'd walk without a hefty settlement, out of pure principal, so the longer he stays, the more turmoil the club will endure. BTW am talking about Spuds here and not NUFC, its great isn't it?

There are many here who believe owt, frankly. You'll want to believe it when its good, and dismiss it when its bad, and that's exactly what MJ is doing right now. Dismissing the bad with a story which brings some reason to the whole mess, to involve us just gives him more satisfaction and why he's here posting up like its not all bad and he could possibly take something from us along the way. I just don't want people to fall for his shit, like many have done plenty of times on here. -

I don't trust him, i don't know him, people don't earn my trust that easily. But i trust him to do a good financial job while here, as that's what he's good at, and he's had previous experience doing so. He'll not be here forever, but as long as he moves the club forward i don't care how long that period is. If he makes money along the way, great. It means were getting it right.

It's not a "we're bigger than spurs thing," it's a spurs fan perpetuating the tabloid driven crap that annoys me. It's not me perpetuating a tabloid driven story, it was something I heard about a few days ago and said so on page 4 of this thread and before there was any suggestion that Ashley might sell to Icelanders or anyone else: It could be plausible. There have been rumours going around for the past couple of days that Paul Kemsley is looking to buy out Levy/Enic. Whilst he is a seriously wealthy multi-millionaire, he still doesn't have the financial clout to buy the club and progress his ambitions. Doing the deal with his best mate backing him would make some sense. Not suggesting that this is anything but a hypothetical situation but I wouldn't say it would never happen. It's not a 'we're bigger than you' or vice versa thing, the fact is that Ashley lives in Totteridge, his best mate is the Spurs Deputy Chairman and in the past has often gone with him to WHL. I'm not saying it will happen, but if Ashley does sell NUFC, there is logic in thinking he might then go in for Spurs. Personally I just don't get why someone would empty their pocket to the tune of 150m just to sell it all a few months later for a insignificant profit, in the scheme of his money dealings, just to buy into a club that "his mate is involved in" when they could of organised something together in the first place, without all the headaches Ashley has been through. From the Newcastle side of things, maybe the financial situation not being quite what it seemed could play a part. From the Spurs side, it's well known that Levy has been approached by a number of parties and the asking price has been a deterrent. Spurs' dealings over the past few days has affected the perceived value of the club. With Kemsley's known desire to buy Spurs and Ashley's believed willingness to sell NUFC, it may not be too far fetched to put the two together. Not suggesting for a minute that this is concrete, but as I said on page 4, it is plausible. Its desperate wishful thinking on your (and the London Media) behalf. So with Ramos rejecting your offer, where does that leave you? Why is it that much wishful thinking? Ashley has hardly been brilliant so far - he's done nowt wrong, and is CLEARLY better than the Fat Man, but it's not like he's pumped a gazillion pounds into the first team, or owt. He seems like a decent enough owner, so far, no more. Because he is looking for a reason for change, a reason for the incompetence shown so far by the Spurs board, that if a takeover is in the wings them letting go of their manager at this time seems more plausible. Heaven forbid they've just fuked up big style, ala NUFC of old style. Making more of our slight financial discrepancy to add weight to the story smacks of desperation. Not quite all what it seems? What £10m difference so Ashley is going to go running? Fuking doubt it. i'm not saying i believe the story - i don't. I'm talking about it being wishful thinking from a Spurs fan - i don't think Ashley would be top of anyones list if they got to 'wish' for a chairman, is what i meant. But its about the only story the London media can come up with right now. He's a friend, he's got money, he's got a football club. 'Right lads, i think i've found Spurs' Saviour, get it printed'. MJ's willingness to bring it to our attention and to want to believe in it is beyond desperate. The media is always full of shite, people believe some stupid things. Ashley to Spurs, Ronaldo/Rooney/Riquelme to NUFC, they print stuff to get a response. There are enough idiots on here who believe everything they read in the press, if we slated them all it would take all day. But we do tbf. As a forum we really don't take anything for word unless its come from the horses mouth. Now this shit might wash and appease a couple of clowns on the Spuds forums, but to bring that shite on here and to cling to it for dear life is going to get a reaction. MJ (both poster & manager) are very desperate people right now. -

I currently do not give a shit about England. If NUFC were performing and were competitive at the top of the league then i could divide my footballing attention to the NT. But as it stands NUFC provide enough misery to my life than to have to worry about England under Steve McClaren. Anyone who does is on a hiding to nothing. I only like the England games as it brings misery on Manu, Chelsea, Liverpool & Arsenal supporters. Were all in the same boat, but i just like to see them squirm, its below bothering me in the slightest. ATM the England team is a good excuse for the nation to whinge, its great, its laughable. -

I really don't know why you post up rubbish like this. Seriously, don't drag us into your mess thank you very much. So Ashley is going to sell NUFC just to buy Tottenham? If they were such buddies why when Ashley was nearing takeover of NUFC wasn't Spurs offered to him? Why would these lifelong Spurs fans sell up the club entirely to a man with no experience, or why would Ashley want to apart own and invest into a club when he could own one out right, a one which financially brings in more, who currently have a better manager and have just got rid of 80% of its problems while Tottenham create their own day by day? Ashley is a man of absolute power, would he share? I don't think so, would he jump into another mess after clearing one up, i don't think so. I'm wondering what the appeal is? I certainly cannot see it, can you? -
I think the team is horrifically unbalanced right now, mainly down to injuries, but we need a playmaker asap. The forwards are living off nothing ATM, SA would be better to revert to 442 for the 1st half of the season until injuries clear up and Owen is fit and running, then selling him and trying to go 433. But i'm of the opinion 433 or 451 should be used away from home, and a simple 442 should be used at SJP. Why we bought Smith i do not know, but he's here, for the season at least.

I said that on his appointment, not many on here agreed like.

Might have been Olympiakos? They had fans die in a similar disaster Personally, I think this proposal would be a bit ott. There is already the memorial at the ground with the eternal flame, just bring that to the new stadium. Some of the comments on here are pretty stupid though. Seriously though, whats the point in having this memorial? Whats the point they are trying to make? How many of them remembered the dead in May when they stormed the gates at the Champions League final, went without tickets, bought fakes, forced themselves into a place they shouldn't, then blaming the authorities and anyone else but themselves for the situation when it got out of hand? Hypocritical wankers the lot of them, and wherever they go ATM trouble follows them. Disgusting set of fans, another disaster is on its way with they way these fans go about their business away from home and the mentality of 'its not our fault' when ever something goes wrong isn't subsiding, its getting stronger, always playing the victims, it will only lead to trouble and more deaths. Stunts like this seating crap only fuels their stupidity imo, that they were not to blame and never will be.

Butt & Carr + £1m for Diop.

So what now for him? Do we sneak in or is he off abroad? He certainly needs to get out, he looks like a right fool for doing what he did. Agreed, right decision.

Just an excuse for when they cant fill their new capacity.
