  1. 3 times: 94-95, 95-96, 97-98. Knew of one, didn't honestly think it would be 3! (which is still terrible) So its been 10 years since the last time!
  2. Would be a shame to draw this nevermind lose after the Bolton win, but the EPL is so tough and Villa have some decent players, it could easily happen. I'm hoping for a win, it would be a great start to the season to win the 1st two games, how many times have we done that in the EPL?

    Kieron Dyer

It will end up Nobby & Dyer for £8m combined.
  4. Can anyone tell me who Anal has targeted at the club over the years for un-needed criticism. Martins. Zogbia. Who else?
  5. Serious? Im tempted to put a £10 on them going down. I'm just glad Sammy Lee is stamping his mark on the team! mackems.gif http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_2659021,00.html Bolton manager Sammy Lee has continued his summer spending with the acquisition of Portsmouth defender Andy O'Brien. The 29-year-old, who signs for an undisclosed fee, has put pen-to-paper on a two-year-deal at The Reebok Stadium, with an option of a further year. Lee has been busy in the summer transfer market, and O'Brien becomes the 12th player to sign on for the club as the new boss looks to put the finishing touches to his squad. The former Newcastle man has gone straight into the squad for Bolton's midweek clash with Fulham, as they look to put their opening-day blues behind them. Lee told the club's official website: "Andy is a great astute acquisition for this football club. "His versatility across the backline will give us greater strength in depth and options in a critical area." O'Brien had fallen out of favour with Harry Redknapp's Portsmouth, and has moved on in search of regular first-team football
  6. Bolton sign Andy O'Brien from Portsmouth. mackems.gif
  7. Good news. What an utter cunt. He starts it, he takes it to another level, he gets petty while SA remains dignified and now he says its unhealthy and wants to call a truce? Fuking sad wanker. It was Gartside who foraced SA hand by not supporting him in the transfer market, he's the reason it went stale, and appointing Sammy Lee will now see them playing terrible football with poor results, just about what they deserve, and certainly what the fans who dare call SA for his efforts deserve. I pray they go down. you don't like people who do their talking in the media? Not sure how you get that from what i said.
  8. Nowt like giving a manager time.
  9. Totally agree. I was a bit pissed during the match, didn't have the best view and lacked sound as it was on Al-Qaeda TV in the pub but i really enjoyed it and had a great time for a change. But that review of the match fills me with even more joy of thats how the press saw it, theres already a change, already a win, already a flood of goals. Its a great feeling to know you can actually win an away game, and with style (attacking, defensive & tactical), its also a great comfort SA will close up and defend properly and his team wont panic, and for as much as a full half if needed so. Its also a great feeling to know you have a manage who you feel knows more about football that you do. Something i couldn't quite say about the last two! Happy fuking days.

    Want Diouf?

1 game not playing and he's already threatening to leave, and people are wanting him here! Fuk off.
  12. Loads of times they sit there looking at him trying not to make him look stupid as fuk without making themselves look stupid for agreeing with him.
  13. Complacency does strange things to people TT. The chairman seems to think that he is the person responsible for Bolton's rise. Sometimes fans become equally complacent. The manager is the most important person in a football club, underestimate his worth to you at your peril. I was watching the Jimmy Hill show this morning [without Jimmy Hill ] and they were saying that Bolton will suffer badly without Sam and could even go down, if they try to change too much or they can't shake out of his shadow. They could be right. Likewise our dear cockney eastenders, who should be down already. I'm quite impressed with the backing this icelandic bloke has gave his manager, but pretty much like we did with Souness, he's backing a knackerjack of a manager. Other than that, I think the Wigan may go down, that Chris Hutchings doesn't seem to have much about him, and they are too small to survive now that Jewell too has gone. Curbs is ok, he's nothing special, i think Pardew had more about him, but to compare him to Souness is a bit harsh like! Hutchings is a poor appointment, they'd actually would of done better brining Warnock in. They've taken a huge gamble here, and considering they survived by the skin of their teeth under Jewel and haven't bought well, they are prime candidates to go down, its almost a certainty imo. Southgate though is poor, and unlike WH have no money to spend, then fans are unhappy (the ones that turn up) big injuries already and have unhappy players on the books. They'll would have a good season to finish in the EPL, there's simply nothing there. But Bolton. A manager is a huge part of a football club, especailly good managers in small clubs. MON with Leicester is a good example, never the same team since he left, that could be Bolton. But Sammy Lee would have to be utter shite to get Bolton Relegated when there are much softer teams going, and considering the setup they have, its still a well run club, they've just lost the man who gave them all that and tried to keep on pushing them. The fans are crying out for attacking football, Sammy Lee wants to stamp his mark, and the board want a change just to spite SA's hard work. A great recipe for disaster, but they do have 4-5 good players which other teams don't have, but last season we had about 10 and still struggled under a poor manager. PS: Watching Jimmy Hill without Jimmy Hill is probably the best way to watch it! they called it the Jimmy Hill show last season, and brian woolnough chaired it. This morning, Brian Woolnough [think thats his name], Oliver Holt, Henry Winter and Andy Dunn were on. These 3 are all OK so it was a good listen today. Ollie Holt and Henry Winter think that Allardyce is the spot on bloke for us and is a great manager who should do the trick and may even be possible top 4 this season or long term given backing. They all agreed that Arsenal could be on the way down and the door could be open for somebody It can be a canny show, its just on far too early on a Sunday morning for my lifestyle choices. But if am up and not out i like to see their opinions although there are far too many press men on the show, never usually a good word said about us, but its good to hear SA has got their seal of approval.
  14. It probably does deserve its own thread due to recent booing of Dyer. Just like everyone else on here I'm so pleased with the no nonsense talk from SA about the club, its fans, its players, the board...everything. Its refreshing, but were all listening to him now, when things are not going so rosy i just hope we all (including myself) find the paitence he's asking for. I'm sure we will as we can see progress and our club turning into the right direction, instead of going down the pan and literally into free fall. I know I'm not the most patient, but history showed in the end i was right to be concerned for whatever reason, but i think that me died with the old regime, i hope so, i can only see a good future especially since the board and SA are talking properly.
  15. Tottenham quite a few times before Jol got there.

  17. I love it how those tosser trotters were banging on about how the wanted attacking football at the Reebok, and it was no great loss that SA walked out on them and they've now got the man to bring that attacking style to their team. Well their ex manager delivered it with style in the 1st half, and laughed at them all the way to full time in the 2nd. They were piss poor and resorted to long ball as soon as they couldn't break us down, it was a woeful display by them and a sign of the times to come for both teams. We will get stronger as the season goes on, i think Lee has got to be in the top 3 for the chop along with the other 2 talentless in-house promoted managers, Southgate and Hutchings. Fuking Sammy Lee mackems.gif going to be better than Big Sam.

  19. Apologies. It is the stress of a MON transfer window that is doing it. 2 days till start, still no right back, just the one LB etc etc ...and no nearer signing Jussi! Good for them, he's utter fuking wank tbf. mackems.gif
  20. I'd imaging it was, cant see why he wont be credited with it if thats what your on about. Total deflection in the other direction, but it was going on target, probably about 70% sure it was. Aye, just wondering if they'd have a case to take it off him. Thought a replay might have been conclusive. Dunno, i was laughing far too hard to actually focus 100% tbf.

  22. Watched the match, it was decent, lots of boring spells which we were in control of, Bolton 1st half got raped off us, their goal was class but apart from that they didn't deserve to score. They've really become utter dogs shit without SA, which is great, they don't belong here, and after todays performance they might not see many more days in the EPL. So glad after some of their arsehole fans response since SA left their poxy club to move on to much better things. Small club, showed up today, gulf in class was huge even with our injuries. Fuk off Bolton you utter fuking cunts. Enjoy a season of misery.
