I really hope FS wins, and not just our point of view either. We bought them, we pay their wages, why the fuk are they allowed to borrow them without expense occurred, nevermind when they come back in bits? About time FIFA stopped taking the piss out of football clubs, if it weren't for the clubs, International football as we know (the global commodity that it is) wouldn't exist, its about time they and their millions gave back to the clubs who are left high and fuking dry by a bent rule made a long time ago.

But if we do sell Parker and Emre. our current centre-midfield partnership, and get two new in, wouldnt that be a major risk considering they need a certain time to understand eachother to play well? But I do agree about the other. Centreback, and atleast one fullback, left or right doesnt matter considering the current ones are piss poor anyway. Strikers is a must aswell thanks to Ameobis hip operation and Luques inability to get a game even though we have no strikers available except Sibierski (rossi to man utd in jan) . Davies? DAvies and Sibi upfront ? Martins better come back soon then. Point is, we shouldn't have to, especially since FS announced money is available in the next window. But if it meant selling one of them, or both to get a new defense in, am for it. Emre @ £8m...fuking hell, that sale would cover Bridge, Distin & a RB. Well I do agree, as long as we get a midfield partership that actually works. Because a solid back for doesnt help unless we have a midfield fighting aswell. Emre and Parker just doesnt work. Not for me it doesnt. Parker is a great player, but he isnt the defensive midfielder we need. And Butt is still a Man Utd player in his heart. Emre just doesnt perform on a regular basis. Emre at £8m? Bite their hands off. Bridge, Distin and RB will be covered. FS says we have money to spend, plus the possible money from a Luque sale, say about 3-4m, give or take, says we have about what, £10m tops? What striker(s) could we get? The partnership doesn't work, and that's why id sacrifice it for a class defense. Still think a Cassano / Luque swap should be tried, even a loan swap Batista/Reyes style would benefit both clubs. If Cassano settled, and liked it here, we'd have a worldclass player on our hands, but previous shows that probably wont be the case. Agree. Ronaldo? Luque for Ronaldo? I'd try it. But am sure Real still value him highly, and i doubt he'd move here. It will be back to Brazil for the buck tooth wonder, or a glamour capital, but certainly not here.

We can't go down the route of a major overhaul, especially in mid season. We need some striking power, and/or someone who will make things happen up front, hold the ball, chase the ball, and enable the whole team to push forward and take more initiative. We also need an attacking box to box midfield player to back this forward player and his partner up. As a result of these changes the team will be a different side. And, just as much, we need one of these players at least to be a leader, have desire and will to win,all the time, and one who can take pressure and all of our players able to play for a club like us. Its easier said than done. As always, it needs the manager not just able to assess the situation correctly, but spend his money properly. Because the reason we are where we are, is because managers..particularly the last one, but Bobby Robson also must take some blame, has wasted far too much money on players who should not have been brought to the club. No we cant, it should of been done pre-season, it wasn't so now we must do as much as we can. What it sounds like is you want us to go buy Shearer's replacement in the window. But what you want will be £10m minimum, and that's doing what FS has done (and why were screwed) putting all our eggs in one basket. You want a classic mid on top? Cant be done, however, there are cheap options at the back that would cement our EPL status in the 2nd half of the campaign, and then we can finish off what needs doing next summer. But i agree with the two players that we need. Stick Shearer & Speed in a time machine, sorted.

if we bought 4 players - talk to macbeth and his monkey first though so they can tell you we can't afford it and so would be better off relegated - we should bring in 3 forward players and a left back. Why did we ever sell Aaron Hughes?Another of Souness' less publicised cock ups.I thought he was steady all across the back 4.Id like to see Ramage and Taylor as permanent fixtures in the back 4 with two new acquisitions with them. Hughes hadn't actually got any better since his debut, weird one he was, but reliable, and good enough to be in the squad. Miles better than Carr, fuking waste of shite that fuker is.

If it means selling Parker & Emre then so be it, but we need a major overhaul asap. It should of been done in the summer, but fat cunt didn't want to commit to GR, but he had to, just to clean up the mess Souness made. I think we need. Bridge Distin Neill or Young Replacements for Parker or Emre if sold. 2 strikers, one loan from abroad (not getting games in a big team) & a proven older head in the EPL.
-
(since everyone will be going for breast jokes) Shearer cant believe on his return how much Luque has aged in the reserves.
-
Shay Given. Good thing is, we've yet to see him peak. Get a good team in front of him, and don't waste the peak.
-
Didn't seem to be celebrating too much at the end tbh either. Not convinced everything is harmony and light with him at the present time. WUM

ITV 2, 3 & 4 were showing shite tonight (well dont they always) If they've got CC rights then those channels should be showing the other games, if not allow other channels like 5 go bid to show CC football, everyone wins like that. There round up shite is on too late, and is done in such bad taste it just makes them hated even more than usual.

When we win something i want to be able to enjoy it, how can i if were relegated, takes the shine off things. Then that situation will be with us for the next 30 years, its just one bad bit of baggage for another.
-
Plenty of resting time till next game, so fitness shouldn't be a problem (or an excuse) this time round. Mentally, it will be a boost, but it can be taken away if we get Liverpool or Chelsea away in the next round. If we get Wycombe at home (IIRC the draw is before the weekend ) or a equally good tie, then this might be something for the player to hang on to, the fans however want league results so it doesn't do much for us, bu could do nicely for the players.
-
A performance I've seen many times before. Nothing special whatsoever, but congrats to the lad for putting manu out.
-
Was the same last round, and it was manure again. But it looks like there going to get through the match footage a bit quicker, although they'll sit there and try to pundit it to death for at least 20mins after.
-
The manu wankfest hits the small screen again. What will they do next round when there out? Have dead air knowing these knob jockeys. Whats the betting on the toon match? Will we get more than 2mins, who knows, we might get to see all our goals this time

Doesn't have the balls to change it as he couldn't face it if his decision went the other way, so he stands there looking fuking gormless until the ref blows the whistle to put him out of his misery.
-
Well she married him, and I'm sure it wasn't for his good looks or shining personality.
-
But they wont, the board are too arrogant to think like that.
-
Neill (or) Young Taylor Distin Bridge. Achievable for Luque money at the max, may even have spare for Upson.
-
My college teacher was called Warrick... Probably still is.
-
Even if is cost £2m, its still in our reach, we could, even if my estimations are out get all three for the price of Boumsong.

Who would you like to see us linked with, and hopefully sign? How much do you think we need to spend, and which areas (obvious question like) do we need to improve on? ------------------------------------------------- For me we need to spend sensible money on players at the back. Bridge £3.5m (unwanted) Distin £1m (contract) Lucas Neill £1m (contact) would be great signings and for reasonable prices. All three have been linked in recent days and i hope we get all three. The mid although not working, has bodies in it, and thats enough for me. We can sort out that mess next summer until then i'd leave it, but with Emre, Parker & Milner linked big money moves away, i reckon at least one of them will be gone in the window, just don't know who. Upfront we need more bodies. Rossi will be gone, but i think another loan deal could be what we need. Try abroad, Barca, Madrid, Inter, someone must be top loaded with strikers somewhere. Also get a proven EPL goalscorer in, no matter age. An old head might actually just be what we need right now. I cant think who, but someone of the Sutton or Hartson mold, someone we could get cheap, and would love the step up late in their career. (Bit like Kevin Gallagher when Bobby joined) If Emre was sold to Bayern for £8m in the winter, he'd pay for those three defenders and ar least one more striker, if not, we need to dig deep and find the £10m to revive this failing squad. What we dont want is trophy signings or taking chances, or both with the link of Cassano to the club. I'd only take him for a straight swap with Luque, that deal we should push for, i think everyone would be a winner there. Navarro from Valencia again is a risk, loan to buy is the only deal we should do there. The defenders need to be proven EPL quality at the very least, as its going to be tough mentally for them coping with the pressure the media and us lot will put on them to perform. It looks hopeless at the moment, but if we can get a DOF in, and make some sensible buys in the window, the 2nd half of the season could be quite nice for us, especially if the club is on the turnaround early, and dont wait until Feb like last season with Souness.

Knowing our luck we'll be relegated and the horrible fat tosser will stay on. bluesigh.gif
