Played for Boro. Scores every other game at the tender age of 41.

It would do them a favour to be fair. Remove that giant chip on their shoulder and the place would be a lot less angry, bitter and depressed all the time. Even if it would still resemble chickentown I don’t agree. The fans who have a bitterness already won’t be helped by their club going bust. The North East needs to look past this obsession that for Newcastle to succeed Sunderland needs to fail and vice versa. Having a city in our region that has no real levels of a reasonable economy does not help us. We needs Sunderland as well as other areas of the region to be more prosperous. Having a city full of people living in area with no facilities, no opportunities, and even losing their football club isn’t going to make any of them less bitter. It isn’t going to help them either. I want the best for the North East. Its my region and I want it to be as strong as possible. I certainly wouldn't wish on any area of it to be even worse off or levelled, because with what is happening now its a possibility and lives will be destroyed. It's sad people can't separate a football rivalry from real life. Same dickheads wishing Nissan to go bust not realising the impact will reach all across the North East.

He defaults and they own the club. It's pretty much what they all hope for. Problem is, they don't want it, especially now with everything going on. A ground with social distancing in place makes no money. The academy was worth money for land, but development will be down for some time to come. If thry do anything it'll be extend the agreement, which doesn't help them at all.

Fuck them fuck the city of Sunderland, you could flatten the whole lot of it and let it become some barren wasteland for all I care. They have nothing but utter contempt for everything Newcastle related not just things that are football related. The whole place is a complete shithole it would just be a shithole without a professional football club Not every Sunderland fan is like rtg. Not everyone living in Sunderland support the club. Such a shame to read comments like this from our fans, but you have form.

Bloody hell Watched a video of him last night, he’s like a cheap mans Cronaldo. Fast, strong, leaps like a salmon and scores for fun. Good pen taker too (wasted here I know) Whether any of that can transfer across to the tops leagues I don’t know, but I think he’d be fun to watch. He’s a bit of a dick off the pitch though, refusing to play etc...been a while since we’ve had a maverick dickhead.

They’re desperate to void the season so next season is just their 2nd season in L1.
-
So next season 3rd straight season in the 3rd division Half the team out of contract Manager the fans hate Owner the fans hate Fans the owner hates End of marrachute payments Expensive academy to keep Further loss of income due to virus playing behind closed doors losing financial advantage over other clubs No STID income or exposure No youth players to step up to fill the gaps Fans loss of personal income It’s not looking good. With all the ill feeling and financial issues this could quickly go belly up and not recover.

I don’t have subs...is there any chance of them flunking a playoff or are they done? They’re done. They’ve played more at home. Glorious Cheers.

I really hope the season doesn’t restart, I reckon he could still take us down, especially if he’s got the hump. Imagine how shit he would be if he tried.

If anything the government will have told them off record to put it through. Since project restart need gov approval I think everyone can benefit from this. I don't know how readily available the full criteria for the PL test is but i think the concern would be that there is a party out there that has gone through it themselves and feels that legally, the PL cannot approve the deal and will challenge a 'yes' decision. It can't just be approved because someone from government said to do so. Apologies, it wasn’t a fully serious post. More a dig at the currents gov relationship with KSA and their love of money. But there’s probably some truth between both posts.

Strange they can make this quoted statement yet offer nothing on the takeover itself. We don't need smoke blowing up our arses, that's for them down the road, we want facts and an update. Going all Midhat with shit like that, and I see in here its done its job.

Starting to worry now. Too much noise and opposition. Time ticking away. Something’s wrong, I can easily see the dying out and again it’s been all for nothing.

Really? I don't know if you've heard but every other non-nufc fan forum in the country is essentially Amnesty International distilled into one self-righteous little outrage-grenade now. It was a shit joke and in poor taste, but the image of ashley being led away in cuffs.....to be honest, that did raise a smile Should have had him being beheaded.

Hmm this does go with what I was told yesterday and was sceptical about... No it doesn't.

FMtastic. I make this signing regularly.

Their U18s & U23s combined this season: P34 W0 D1 L33 F28 A120 Pts 1 Surely they'd be better off opting out of the Premier League Academy leagues and going into something more their level? Their kids can't be gaining anything from this. You're right, but the problem is they fought very hard for Category 1 status. If they go from Category 1 to Category 2, their compensation entitlement for a young player drops from £40k for each year he was with them to £25k. That might sound like a small amount in isolation, but for a club at their level it quickly adds up. The talk is this latest prospect is only going for £200k, which is surprisingly low given he's playing U23 football (and scoring) at 16-years-old. Thought You couldn’t take players from cat 1? If so These lot are willingly selling them, not being paid in compensation fees. Cat 1 costs them £2-3m a year. If true, Best scrapping it and putting those funds in to the 1st team. Could be wrong on both 5hose points, it’s based on stuff I read years ago. As I understood it, the only limitations are on at what age you can sign players, but before that age threshold, you need to be at an academy within 90 minutes drive from home. When it comes to signing players at a certain age Category One clubs have the most flexibility, i.e. they can sign players from other academies at a younger age. The lower your status the longer you have to wait. In this instance, it's being claimed Sunderland will get an initial £200k. That was the same fee Aston Villa received when Danny Crowley went to Arsenal. He hadn't agreed a pro-contract, so Villa were only entitled to a set fee of £200k. It said he had rejected Sunderland's offer, and realistically if he's as good as they say it's in their interest to sign him up then sell him. They'll get further money based on Premier League appearances and any potential transfers, but it won't be a lot. You are right about the costing of a Category One academy, and there are stipulations relating to staffing numbers and support you give to the players. Nice clarification, cheers. I also thought we were C2, did we finally push for C1 under Ashley? Must have missed that.

Be great if during this the takeover is announced and all their reactions get caught on camera at once.
