Rolan might have been a good signing last season.
-
Shows you just how finished he was as a player yet we kept him on.

That turned out well... http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/dream-move-gone-sour-sad-13334148

Burra and Villa look favourites imo. Wolves will be a dark horse for promotion Are they that dark a horse when they're spunking money on Porto players? 10th favourites for promotion would suggest they are an outside bet.

Imagine being 16 and leaving the club you grew up supporting for a team in the same league. Screams utter judas cunt. Hope he does fuck all.

Currently sitting at work in an old 2sizes too big northern rock top (allowed to wear our colours for Bradley) trying to figure out when I bought this. Must be pre Ashley? Anyway, after x amount of years I'm going to check out on the flesh that black one, it looks class with the sponsor.

Shooting fish in a barrel this one. Might as well close shop if we can't do this deal.

It's almost like the do know what they are doing. How strange.

If the reports are anything to go by, hasn't he done something similar this week with the instruction to Charnley to up our offer for Jacobs? It's fucking pathetic like, the manager having to tell Charnley how to do his job. Or it's Rafas budget and he decides on how the money is spent and it's only down to charnley to make the deal happen. No amount of sweet talking or begging is going to work if we're a few million short. Rafa could have said ok, you've tried st that price, now go try with s bit more, we need this to happen as other deals aren't. what do people want now? Do they want Rafa to control the transfers or let the club decide on how budget is spent?
-
You seem to be absolutely convinced we are going to spend money, have you learnt nothing from Ashley over the past ten years? It's the same story repeating itself over and over again. The only thing I'm convinced of is that it's been tougher than expected which has led to disappointment and frustration for all parties, however relegation talk is fucking laughable at this stage. A certainty as well by all accounts.
-
Hope all these people who are certain were going down have money on it. 10/3 and 6th favourites, if it's a cert then best the bookies and put your house on it.

Maybe Charnley is waiting for the results back from several potential targets?

No one finds it a bit weird that according to these ITK's Rafa's main target was a loan for a Chelsea youngster who's only real exprience is one season of second tier football? I'm not saying its not worrying if we're missing out on his top targets. It really is. But he was really on top of Rafa's list? Precisely where in the pecking order Abraham was is besides the point. Rafa thought the deal was sealed but the club let him down. How do you know? I've heard his parent club didn't want him here, he thought he'd get more opportunities with Swansea, the player wanted additional payments for his family, the player wanted to concentrate on u21s when we wanted to push it through and finally that we decided to some how sabotage the deal. Now I'm not saying which one is right, but the likelihood we'd try and piss off our manager over a loan deal seems extreme, but it seems to be the one people want to believe for some strange reason. Then there's the keeper who proven to chase money to sit on a bench and doing it all again, yet for some reason that one is thrown in to the pot of doom that'll see Rafa leave and us signing no one. If we didn't sign lejuene or Reina moves to another club in England or Samaris moves for £15m etc...then concern can grow. We are then missing out on targets, but that loan deal is just not the one to panic over.
-
The additional money is fucking everything up big time. I wonder if this is the beginning of the end and we'll soon see the system fold on itself.
-
It is, but the way some are going on you'd think the club fucked up signing messi for a fiver on purpose.
-
Absolutely. Rafa is all about character. It's easy to go out and buy mercenaries with a give no fuck attitude from a greasy agent at an inflated price leaving no budget to do owt else with. One thing he got right last season was the character he brought to the club, and which ones to keep. He's looking for that again but with additional talent, unfortunately clubs want to keep them and other clubs with more money or capital pull will stand in our way. Though I do think he'll walk if the club doesn't deliver, I just don't think we're at that bridge yet.
-
Really? Why? What does he actually do? He did fuck all other than run in a straight line every now and then for us, and seems to have done the exact same for Boro last year. He's big, stocky and quite fast, but he has zero football awareness. I remember Village Idiot on here telling me *exactly* the same thing when we signed him, and he was absolutely spot on. I find it utterly bewildering anyone would want him, let alone pay some of the figures mentioned for him. He's not a winger. He's not even a footballer. The same was said to us about Townsend...and the Villa report on Clark was just as bad. However Obertan does spring to mind in this case.
-
Alan? Maybe we've only got a tenner to spend then.
-
If that was clear Rafa wouldn't be here. Instead we're managing our budget and from the very start we were told that would include free transfers and loans.
-
Think they are confused. It's his £1.5m wage demands which are stopping sevilla signing him, not us.
-
Since Rafa rates character and professionalism there's fuck all chance of that, especially if he's asked any of the remaining backroom staff of what he's like.
-
both seem riddiculously over priced. Hoping we find some Kante-esque gem to be honest as neither seem that overwhelming for the money being talked about. Totally agree - no way we should be paying 25m for McCarthy. Na, that's a piss take. £15m even in today's inflated market is fair enough.
-
Would love to see Hart here. He's in a bad place mentally after being forced out of citeh, doubting his own ability, but I reckon rafa can sort that out and get him back on track. Navas on a free would be tasty as well.
