  1. Chronicle linked him a couple of weeks ago. He is a favourite of Rafa so I consider this transfer 9/10 likely.
  2. Glad he is gone but wish him well as he always tries his best. Hopefully gets a nice payday somewhere sunny

    Shola Ameobi

He was a good player up to about 2005. Not a world beater but good enough to be a 3rd choice Newcastle striker. What happened then I always think is unfair on Shola as especially the fans have forgotten the sacrifice he made. He injured his hip, he should have had surgery right away but instead Souness and Roeder and the clubs medical staff persuaded him to put himself on the line for his club and slave away on the left wing with pain killing injections for over two years. He wasn't training half the time he was so bad yet he did what he did because the managers asked him to help the club. Ultimately by the time he got to have surgery, he fucked his leg up so bad he stopped becoming a viable footballer. This man gave far more heroism to this club than most ever will and paid the ultimate price.

Usually there is so little text it makes Internet Explorer go funny.

Let's hope he wasn't the secret brains behind our late run of form!
  6. Looking back at the stats from last time it strikes me how a number of players shared responsibility for goals. Harewood got 5 in 9, Lovenkrands got 13 in 19. We also had loads of randoms I completely forgot about like Fitz Hall
  7. Probably an attempt at privacy, French paparazzi are very bad, ask Michael Schumacher
  8. My Grandad had a heart bypass op and was in a coma for 6 days after. He is still going strong 7 years later.

    Adam Armstrong

I think he suits the type of striker Rafa is supposed to like. Youth, potential and a year in the Championship with Rafa could create the English Fernando Torres.
  10. Chronicle is suggesting a few signings generally lower league players we are rumoured to have looked at previously. Patrick Bamford, Lewis Cook and Lewis Baker may be interesting. But the most intriguing name on the list is Alvaro Arbeloa, who played for Rafa at Liverpool and Real Madrid and is now out of contract.
  11. Good god I hope he is ok!
  12. Nah, he's a pathetic player who doesn't give a shit. Hundreds of more effective players out there who would be prepared to sign.
  13. To be honest it sounds like he would have preferred to have gone on this journey with NUFC rather than with those plastic cockney fans.
  14. He has been a huge part of the problem the past three years in that he only shows up against the big clubs. Will be ecstatic to see him fuck off and pursue his mediocre football career elsewhere.
  15. We should be able to get at least £8m for Krul he is a Euro Class keeper.
  16. To be honest they will probably think of nothing else all summer, and then when they realise they have left it too late to sign anyone, they will blame inactivity on FFP
  17. Thought this would be worthy of some general musings and more detailed analysis later on as the year progresses. Next season we are subject to Football League Financial Fair Play regulations. They are explained here: http://mobile.football-league.co.uk/news/article/2015/championship-financial-fair-play-2867176.aspx Crux of it is that we are not allowed losses next season of more than £6m, or £9m if Ashley gives us the maximum permitted loan of £3m. I'm sure our balance sheet champions in the NUFC boardroom will be poring over the financial implications If we do break the rules and are not promoted, we would face a transfer embargo until we show we are operating at the acceptable levels. If we are promoted we have to pay a fine to the Football League determined by how bad our losses are. For example, a £26m loss equates to a £17m fine, so becomes a £43m loss overall. How would we resolve this? Obviously we are going to need to make cuts or gamble on immediate promotion. Making sure we sell our valuable players fairly late on (I.e in the correct accounting period) would improve the figures but similarly we would then have to delay the signings we made for the following season.
  18. Speaks volumes that only Lascelles, Dummett and Elliott have shown themselves on Twitter since last night. The rest have gone stone dead quiet.

    Lee Charnley

    Yeah it does http://mobile.football-league.co.uk/news/article/2015/championship-financial-fair-play-2867176.aspx
  20. Reading up on the Football League Financial Fair Play rules we will need to sell sell sell, but on accountancy purposes they would need to be sold in whatever classifies as next season, so may not shift them all or replace them quickly.

Wont cost him a penny surely ? Clubs self sufficient. Low income + Financial Fair Play + Heavy fines will cost us big time.
  22. What's the situation nowadays in the football league with Financial Fair Play? Seems like a few teams that have gone down with expensive squads have been burned quite spectacularly.
  23. If we do decide to part company we should ask him who he recommends to manage us next.
