  1. Krul - 6 - Not really tested but then was asleep for the goal but he is young and still learning at this level. Simpson - 9 - Operated the right flank well, compensated lack of a right winger, helped create key chances. Williamson - 7 - Solid, unspectacular, reliable. Coloccini - 10 - Didn't put a foot wrong and we built from his calm composure at the back, really earning his wages at the moment. Enrique - 8 - Did what Enrique does every game. Barton - 10 - Passed the ball around well, whipped in some excellent balls and terrifying corners, and led the team by an excellent example of controlled aggression. My MOTM. Tiote - 8 - Took a while for him to understand the derby tempo, but once he did Mr. Consistent kept the midfield ticking. Nolan - 10 - Got the hattrick but his passing in midfield was also good and did some important defending too. Jonas - 8 - Kept the ball well and won important set pieces. Carroll - 8 - Terrorised them, making spaces for others to exploit. Ameobi - 10 - Great brace, but again is such an important part of our build up play and really helps the likes of Barton, Nolan and Jonas get on trhe ball in more dangerous positions.

Huh? By showing how good we are without him? Bizarre logic. Where did I say that? We are looking a much more stable side and club off the field. He's better than Simpson at RB, I'd say he probably knows that, the chance to play in a settled side could do wonders for his England chances he'd be crazy to go elsewhere now. Even more so when you consider how short England are on RB's. I know Simpson was the weak link last season especially towards the end, but he was carrying an injury and has done well since coming back. Don't write him off yet!
  4. I put the start due to the game being at a tempo he could have never expected or played in. Once he worked that out he was great as usual.
  5. I wanted it for Shola, he's never let us down from the spot when it has matterred. He's better than Shearer. Just to clarify.. better than Shearer AT PENALTIES

  7. Wouldn't look out of place on a goal of the month competition.
  8. What is the best penalty you've ever seen then? For me, Shola Ameobi for Newcastle vs Sunderland, 31st October 2010.
  9. Once Tiote worked out how high tempo the game is we've been incredible.

I think it is a cultural thing as Krul distributes the ball very well.
  11. He was good for most the game. BUT For the goal, before Cole had the ball it was obvious where it was going to go. A world class keeper would have thrown himself across the goal before the ball even reached Cole's feet, taken the gamble that Cole would have hit it first time right in front of him which he did. There would have been no guarantee of saving it, but the probability would have been a lot higher. However Harper wouldn't have done that either.
  12. Probably told to play like that in fairness. No point winning the ball back if he'll just keep losing it.
  13. He's fine man. The only criticism I have of him as that he can sometimes venture into central midfield which could hurt us on the counter.
  14. I thought Krul could have at least tried diving before Cole even attempted the shot. You knew where the ball was going to go!
  15. Shola is actually much better at leading the line than Carroll.
  16. Williamson wasn't surplus to requirements for Avram Grant, he wasn't allowed to play!
