Starting left back for La Liga runners up when we signed him.
-
Even me and Ronaldo rate Enrique. You must be bonkers.
-
In case anyone from the club sees this, 14% is approximately the proportion of members on this forum who support other clubs.
-
Thing about Jonas is that he is a bit unpredictable in terms of the direction he moves on a bad day. Perch was probably just bambi-ing around and just happenned to be accidentally tracking him.
-
I'll join if they have a Perch Out campaign.
-
We'd been chasing Perch for over half a season so would hardly call him a cheap gamble. Our management wanted him, presumably based on the mediocre performances he produced as a teenager for Calderwood in League One.
-
great minds think alike. I called this a few weeks ago. I got shouted down before the game for saying that he was one of the worst players to play in this league, but he really is at the same level as Fumaca and Ali Dia.
-
Sol injured unfortunately. It is Taylor or Kadar. Or Routledge or Shola. Or Smith or Ranger Or even Soderberg would be better.
-
That would just block the progress of a much more promising youngster.
-
Dreadful, dreadful, dreadful player. Complete liability. Wouldn't wish him playing for our own worst enemies. If he never played for us again, I would celebrate.
-
Perch for both. Got pushed out of the way for the first by N'Zogbia who gave him the lightest tap on the shoulder, and for the second was just standing still 30 yards out while Zog ran past him on the counter.
-
Perch got outmuscled by a light push by N'Zogbia
-
Carroll looks a lot sharper
-
Dude, you should only do that when we concede!
-
Almost Carroll. Great by Enrique
-
Zog just skinned Perch in the area. Fortunately Guthrie tracked back.

Newcastle United v Wigan Pre-Match Thread - 16/10/10, 3.00 PM

Despite being reasonably reformed, Barton should never be allowed to captain a team again. Colo is a well respected member of the team with a lot of experience and has done a good job with Williamson. Deserved choice. -

Not only is he incredibly shite, but he goes into games with an incredibly bad attitude in that case. I will celebrate the day we bin him, truely one of the worst players to have played in this division. -
Unfair. He's looked very comfortable in this division, which I didn't really predict. Williamson is no frills. He fits in well amongst other good defenders and a well drilled defensive unit. However I'm yet to be convinced that he could perform the role of a leading defender. In that sense he is a lot like one of those British defenders Robson had in our CL team, most of whom had downward careers since Robson left us. I could understand that point, and agree to an extent. For us, at this moment in time, he's comfortable and solid in his role. I think Williamson's biggest strength is that he knows his weaknesses and has adapted his game to improve a defender and play for the team to the best of his ability. Which is the complete opposite to that prat Steven Taylor who is completely unaware of his own limitations and plays for himself without ever reaching his full potential.

He hasn't gotten shit, he was just never that good in the first place. In that season, Bassong was the charger, Colo was the sweeper, which meant it was often Bassong seen doing the bare minimum defensive job that you'd expect from any PL defender and therefore getting the praise for it. However he went to ground way too easily, and the penalties he gave away were a major contributor towards our relegation.
-
Time for another strongly worded letter detailing the high fives after the tackle and now this. It isn't just de Jong that needs sorthing, it is the whole Man City team.
-
Was much better than Bassong in the first PL season. Bassong was so overrated.
