  1. That is all a bit random tbh.

    Arda Turan?

May as well look at other targets then.

    Arda Turan?

Perhaps the Turkey coach has banned agents? Would mean that nothing more can currently be done with Emre or Turan.

    Arda Turan?

There are no news. If there is anything new, I will post it here! FYP Stop the text-speak. FYP Stop the text-speak

    Arda Turan?

That video pretty much confirms to me that Souness was better than Allardyce.

    Arda Turan?

    Probably is Arshavin then.

    Arda Turan?

I thought Turan was suspended for the first two Turkey games?
  8. The main asset I see in Ashton, is that pre injury, he is one of the few English players who can get a team by the scruff of the neck and dominate a game, very much like Rooney and Gerrard and pre-2004 Shearer. He hasn't been as good since the injury, but it was a bad injury, and better players have taken over a year to find their old form. In the last couple of months he has shown enough to suggest that there is a fair chance that we could be seeing something near to the 2006 Dean Ashton by next season. He works the flanks well by the way, and his build up play is excellent, which is why he isn't a typical target man.
  9. Mancini to commute from his Newcastle home.
  10. Shouldn't have gone mouthing off to the press.

    Arda Turan?

Could be Alan Oliver writing about Brett Emerton in his closing paragraph every day as far as we can tell.

    Nuri Sahin

I remember the likes of Franck Ribery and Mikel Arteta not living upto their potential and drifting between clubs, but you'd have no chance of getting them now. Our scouts would have a considerably better idea than any of us as to how good a player could be for us in the future and then sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith on these kind of things and hope they turn out for the best.

    Nuri Sahin

Hasn't: Couldn't possibly comment. Won't: Neither can you.

    Nuri Sahin

Yes but if you would stop trying to be smart arses, you'd know that the club thought he would be pushing for a first team slot these days, not on loan at Feyernood. He had alot of average games at De Kuip, and if you lot would put down FM and watch games. He was better in attacking for Feyernood as he would venture forward, and occasionally nick a goal. Good finish on him. But I'd imagine Dortmund would want stupid money due to his "Potential". It wouldn't suprise me if he had a you tube video. But I promise you quote me in sigs if you want, Nuri Sahin will not be a world beater he will be distinctly average. You have to rememeber he was discovered at 16, so he's had 3 years in the game. There's better cheaper options. What a load of claptrap. A 19 year old has the same amount of potential regardless of whether they were discovered at 16 or 19.
  15. The itk guy says it 3 players to be done by the end of the week. Dos santos is near enough certain to be one, the guy says the other guy either plays for portugal or plays in portugal, and the 3rd is probably Bostock but people still havnt clocked on yet. There are a number of options bubbling away. Bostock has already had an official announcement of sorts so I would discount him as one of the 3 if there are going to be simultaneous announcements for 3 players. If there are 3 deals coming to fruition they could be announced on Friday as at the weekend Levy and Alexander (the Company Secretary) depart for annual vacations. BTW, I've got considerable doubts that Veloso will be one of the three, if indeed there are three. When those two go on holiday, will business lull for a few weeks? By then they'll have sorted out most if not all of their business, so it won't matter. Damn good way to go about things IYAM. Wish we could learn a lesson or two. Less than half of it I reckon. Not much we could do when the manager had big commitments during May and June before he had agreed to become our manager.
  16. The players are on their post-season holidays at the minute. Would you be happy if you boss brought you in on your holidays to sort out work business? I would certainly be pissed off. You can argue that it'll be sorted out with advisors and crap and need not involve the player but I bet they'd like to be there. We're not even into the transfer window yet and the players are still all away on their holidays, just give it time. Two things, talks could have been started well before the end of the season. The club publically announced that they were waiting to secure our PL status before opening talks. Secondly, the bulk of the talking does not require the parcipation of the player himself, it's done with the representatives, being on hioliday has no bearing. As a matter of point, how long should these things actually take anyway, I want xxx amount, club willling to pay XXX. I want a couple of bonuses, and a contract condition or two. It's really not as complicated as people would have you believe. If you ask me it's all a bunch stalling tactics from one or both sides. a) Our Premier League status did need to be secured before we began negotiations, and it is a load of claptrap to suggest otherwise. b) How do you know that we aren't just waiting for these players to come home, speak to the manager and put pen to paper? a) when the hell did I say that ?? The PL status was secured BEFORE the end of the season, a couple of weeks before !! b) Like I said the players don't do a lot of talking anymore. It's agents and lawyers, all the player does is sign on the bottom line, in this digital age, he could be anywhere in the world to do that. a) The bit in bold. Perhaps I misunderstood the context though. Regardless, things don't get done in two weeks. The average Premier League contract extension can take take months to sort out, and people had other jobs to be doing in the last two weeks of the season, namely Ramage and Carr and making our summer plans. b) Annoy the player on hos holiday, plus miss the opportunity for photographs, champagne, handshakes, hobnobbing and the full boardroom class experience. I don't think so. Besides, Owen is a family man, and if he has committed time to his family and kids, he wouldn't lose any of it to agents/club officials etc.

    Were we unstable?

The following is how most outsiders would perceive our recent fortunes: A reputation of instability emerged 2003/04, first with the personalities of some of our players, fans starting to boo them despite relative success and then the chairman completely botching up the way the club dealt with Robson inevitably becoming too old for the job. We then had the new manager falling out with players left right centre, while some of our players started fighting each other and threatening each other via text message. Panicing chairman makes more mistakes with his appointments, and tries throwing money he doesn't have at non cost effective solutions. Ashley and Mort come in, quickly realise that the latest appointment was a mistake and act decisively, but to those on the outside it is getting silly now. To top things off, we appoint a dinosaur as manager and immediately seek to undermine him. Meanwhile a player has a go at booing fans before proceeding to get himself arrested. Bentley recently said that he wouldn't want to be at an unstable club like Newcastle. I'm sure others feel the same (and before NE5 says he wouldn'tsign these players as they don't have ambition, I must point out that they genuinely believe that they can achieve greater things in a stable environment). The reputation will remain for a while while we try to sort things out, and even being decisive can look bad to outsiders right now, and may yet cause us problems.
  20. Mourinho confirmed as Inter boss.

Hopefully the ankle specialist wasn't recommended by Emre.
  22. Don't think KK is bothered by having deals tied up in May if he has booked himself onto a nice long holiday weeks in advance.
  23. I've always found with paper rumours, the best ones always seem to come in the Times or the Guardian, where there will be some kind of objective article about current events using quotes and all that malarkey, and then they'll slip in a new link in the final paragraph claiming interest in a player, yet not feeling the need to make a completely speculative quoteless article about it.

    todays rumours

The People always seem to have a duty to write something about every PL Club, even if they don't have any info (apparently).
