  1. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/fa_cup/7393770.stm Cardiff's run to the final is wholly unimpressive (Boro are s***). Why dont we ever get an easy run like this? We always seem to get the Premiership contenders or Champions at some stage. On paper, this will be an easy victory for Pompey. 1997? 1998?

    Comolli Sucks

At the end of the day, everyone buys a few stinkers and it can't be helped. The real test is whether the good buys outweigh the bad ones.
  3. Lets not blame people for jobs they aren't responsible for. Tony Jiminez is the negotiator. Veterre is a boardroom scout. Get your point though (unless he stays at Citeh or moves for more than £6m)
  4. I thought Curbishley had to remove a quarter of his current squad before he is allowed to buy?
  5. Diatta and Ramage being released paves the way for Dunne's transfer... Personally I don't think releasing Ramage and Diatta has any effect on how much we need a centre half. Eh? Nothing players that didn't feature in our first four choices at centre half. Squad places better taken up by Kadar and Tozer. Meanwhile, getting another CB remains just as important, as our first four defenders lack a bit of leadership and composure.

  7. Keegan is meant to be playing in this as a sub I heard....
  8. What i found amusing was the picture of Gibson on the banner. Imagine if we'd had a picture of Shepherd on our banner.....
  9. Why's Craig David from Morley though? Craig David is from Southampton. Any idiot knows that
  10. I don't think Keegan is the kind of manager who tells a player to look for a new club as they are shite. He'd wait for the first bid, inform the player of it, and then tell the player that he can't guarantee first team football etc. FWIW, every game is a fresh chance for me. If I see Duff, or Smith, or Fumaca on the team sheet, I hope they prove me wrong. There is always a way back. Why would we see Fumaca on the team sheet? The point I was trying to make is however shite a player has been for us, there is always a chance that he can turn it around. Players only become definitely shit when they leave in my eyes.

    The Wage Bill

You say that, yet I know a Spurs fan who struggles massively to get tickets even for the shit games. Perhaps they go in the away end then or something. So these friends of yours apply via the away club to go to watch Spurs? Ok. Well they used to go to Southampton games before the relegation, and now they go to Spurs because Portsmouth is impossible. You have to take into account that the South West corner of the country don't have Premier League football, so those that want to watch games go to London or Birmingham in a neutral capacity, and sometimes make a lot of effort to do so. I was suggesting it sounds like an unlikely way to go about it. Sounds like bullshit is what I'm saying. From you that is Try living three hours away from the nearest Premier League club before making such assumptions.

I know of a few people who aren't Spurs fans and don't even live near London, but go to 3 or 4 Spurs games a season as a neutral because they never have problems getting tickets. A few months back in FourFourTwo, there was a Spurs fan who claimed to speak for others who said that he would only go to Spurs matches if each seat had its own television with Sky+ features that he could use to analyse everything. So while Jol points out that Spurs sell out, it is all a bit of a plastic sell out and at risk of going belly up at any moment.
  16. Nah, he is top 5 for number of passes only (look at the numbers)
  17. I don't mind what the final decision is so long as I get to make it.
  18. What a Maoist Stalinist Mugabist Parkyist Nazi you are.
  19. When they're all about football, I don't see why they can't all go in the 'Football' forum? Or have I misunderstood? Over-complicating things imo. Basically a way of helping people find what they are looking for, hopefully some topics being split between several threads. Less regular users would also be able to find and follow the better threads rather than have to use the search function which isn't great if you don't know exactly what you are looking for.
  20. Perhaps putting something like this in a sticky could help?: Transfer Speculation/Debate The Completed Summer Transfers Thread’08 Realistic Summer Targets Other Clubs’ Summer Targets Edgar Davids Amara Diane Richard Dunne Bafetimbi Gomis Louis Saha Mauro Zarate Current Players/Staff Habib Beye Steve Harper Charles N’Zogbia Michael Owen Alan Smith The Board Other Teams Other
  21. Aye, that's worse than anything. When there's debates about the same thing happening in 3 separate threads, sometimes means that good opportunites for discussion are lost as there'll be one person talking one point of view in one thread and someone else in another, without any crossover. One thread for one rumour makes sense to me. In that case, my view is to stick with one thread per player, and discouragement of lengthy discussion in the Realistic Transfer Targets thread about players with their own thread, someone (i.e. me) quoting posts from one thread into another to move the discussion if you get what I mean.
  22. With the mega thread and other threads breaking off, it means that the same thing is just being talked about in multiple threads, which I find a bit annoying as I just end up repeating myself.
  23. Not sure I like the current transfer thread to be honest, debates are about several things at the same time, and lots of repetition about things already posted both in the thread itself, and in other threads people-that-aren't-reading-a-131-page-thread started
  24. Still don't know what he's done to be so highly rated, but weren't people talking about him costing much more than £10m? Comparing to when Tevez came to England, Zarate has had the better first five months Isn't there a general concensus in South America before he came to England that the Argentina of the next few tournaments, him, Tevez and Messi would be their key attacking players?
