  1. Thats just a rehash of the Chronicle. Nothing new. I'm just saying that it's on the official site, which lends it more gravitas to it appearing in an Alan Oliver article, dickface! Not really, as they reproduce any manager/player quotes that appear in the Chronicle every day.
  2. Agree with Toon' Taylor that we can't be certain that everything will work out perfectly. There is an element of a gamble, and all seems very short term, but I do think its the best we can do.

  4. Other than an initial poor stint with Bastia, Essien wasn't a centre back when he played in France. Read one of the articles in an earlier post - says Essien played CB for a spell at Lyon while Cacapa was injured. Sicko2ndbest's post on the second page.

  6. Unlikely he can speak much English I'd say. But that is where Rozehnal and N'Zogbia can help.
  7. If he's a better centre back than one of the best centre backs last season in Essien, he must be good.
  8. Good to see that we've given him a rigorous assessment first. Given that we rejected Duscher on that basis, sounds like good news.
  9. Thats just CL Skirge. He played 6 more in the league. Would still need more clarification regarding his injury situation though.
  10. http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/20070615_081754Dev.html Bit dated, but says he isn't going to Qatar, as he wants to stay in Europe.
  11. Mind, from what I can gather, he only played seven games last season.
  12. I know next to nothing about this player. Could a Francophile please fill me in?
  13. 8 or 17. You mean the only two numbers that are available in the first 20. You don't say! 3, 6, 13 and 18 are also available. Not so smart now are we 13 is not available. I dunno, although they said Harper had moved from 12 to 13, the official site has him as 12 http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10278~1074172,00.html http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Profiles/0,,10278,00.html
  14. I'm good at filling boring spells with inaneness.

  16. Barton is 7 and he asked for 7.
  17. Reckon you'd be able to change Milner's number though, after the squad numbers have been officially announced? We did last season, but very early on. Doubt we would do that now.
  18. 8 or 17. You mean the only two numbers that are available in the first 20. You don't say! 3, 6, 13 and 18 are also available. Not so smart now are we I thought Milner had moved to 8? - sure I heard that Milner is 16.
  19. 8 or 17. You mean the only two numbers that are available in the first 20. You don't say! Apart from 3 and 6 you mean? If Smith gets 3 or 6 i'll let James jizz on my manbreasts, i really am that confident. No thanks.

  21. I'm certain that Smith will get no. 17 by the way. Either that or 8.
  22. Yet you conveniently left it until he's discussing personal terms before you told us. I'm sure I've said it before. I certainly recall posting about a dream I had back when Butt was getting lots of games for Manyoo that he scored the winning goal in the FA Cup for us versus Chelsea.
  23. So who else do you think will play for us in the future? John Arne Riise, Wayne Rooney, Joe Cole and David Bentley.
  24. Still a bit short on the actual taking set-piece department. Who can do the duty well enough when Geremi is out of the picture?
  25. I don't know about others, but for me, since he has been at Leeds, Alan Smith has always looked like a player who would one day play for Newcastle. I dont know why, he just had the look. I thought the same about Duff and Butt, and look where they are now.
