  1. If I'm honest, Barton probably does deserve a few months in prison if the allegations are true.
  2. Sorry Dave, thought the other one was the Smith thread.
  3. No. People heard him say it though... Different interviews. Sam may have felt he said too much, and had more time to think about what he was going to say second time around.
  4. That is a very good, but very scary shout. The defence picks itself, but I certainly can predict any of the team selections versus Bolton. what is that defence then? Right now, it is: Carr Rozehnal Taylor Ramage Though I'd expect it to be Carr Rozehnal Taylor New LB by Bolton. Four established defenders, plus another on the bench, plus Geremi backing up Carr. We cant revamp the whole defence overnight, and the established Carr will survive for now. Nothing anyone on here says will change that. And that is a significant improvement on last season, like Isaid, we cant go from poor to great overnight, there has got to be some in between stage, in which Carr will play a part. Carr Taylor Rozenhal Ramage is a fucking disgrace But still better than last season. Do you have no concept of improvement?
  5. We'll know who is replacing Dyer on Thursday, everyone reckons it's Smith, but are dissappointed. Sam also expects to sign 3 to 4 more after replacing Dyer.

  7. Rozehnal and Taylor are both capable defenders. Even though I loath him, you have to count Carr as established as well. Carr looked good against Juve, but he's got some way to go to convince me he's actually a capable defender. Difference between capable and established. Well yes I'd agree, but considering you replied to me post about capable defenders saying that Carr is established as well I assumed you meant established to mean capable.. Why else did you reply like that? You thought I thought that established meant capable. Meanwhile, I thought you thought that capable meant established.

  10. Like I said earlier in the thread, defenders dont want to join a joke defence. We have to show that we are improving defensively before they will want to join.

  12. Still, two more defenders equals better than last season. We cant achieve perfection overnight, we have to improve the team slowly over time.
  13. I'd say we now have a better squad than last season. Last season/This season Given/Given Harper/Harper Srnicek/Krul Krul/Forster Carr/fitter Carr Babayaro/Babayaro Bramble/Rozehnal Taylor/Taylor Moore/Ramage Ramage/Huntington Huntington/Edgar Edgar/No-one Onyewu/No-one Solano/Solano Milner/Milner Duff/Duff Shit N'Zogbia/Good N'Zogbia Dyer/Smith Parker/Barton Butt/Butt Patisson/Geremi Ameobi/Ameobi Sibierski/Viduka injured Owen/fit Owen Martins/Martins Luque/Luque no-one/Carroll Looking at it like that, we have improved significantly up front and in midfield. Lets face it, we were weak in all areas last season. Assume that our young defenders are one step further up the ladder due to experience. Now add two defenders whom are better than Gooch and Moore (not difficult). Suddenly, all areas are much much much better than they were last season. Not to mention that the versatility of Smith, Geremi, and Solano being able to fill up positions in a crisis.
  14. I'm sure that if we can afford to splunk money on Smith, we can afford to splunk even more on defenders.
  15. Although I buy that, I have a different take on things after all we always sign the midfielders/strikers we want. I reckon our joke defence actually puts off defensive signings - joining could easily make a player part of a joke defence, destroying his career. Thus to get better defenders, we may need to first show in this forthcoming season that we are better defensively. How are we going to do that without better defenders? It would definitely be a vicious cycle to get caught in. Good man-management, higher fitness levels, increased organisation, attacking tactics and better possession would make our defence less of a joke, and make a defender believe that they can come in without becoming part of the joke. But as of yet, we cannot show that this is the case, so many defenders may choose to avoid us.

    Kieron Dyer

Dyer is basically leaving Newcastle to join Newcastle. Bowyer, Parker, Bellamy, error prone defence, laughing stock club, chairman who loves the media attention and overinflates everything.

  18. Jol, realistically, how many league games will Taarabt get this season? He's been prominent in pre-season, but will that translate to competitive games?

    Kieron Dyer

And it seems to me, that he lived his life, like a candle in the wind, and he even got injured, more times than he bought bling.
  20. He's coming back! http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~riks/fumaca1.jpg
  21. Laporta said today that he's still an important player and not for sale.
  22. Kieron Dyer is ten times the player Smith is. However, I reckon Dyer will fail at West Ham - bad career move.
