  1. You would think that the Chronicle have nothing else to write about today.

    Edgar?

Also, some numpties will probably pay us £4m each for Ramage and Huntington, allowing Edgar to play with some decent new full backs.

    Edgar?

Playing a team falling apart with fans ready to crucify you after one mistake. Not an atmosphere for any youngster to come into. Might as well destroy the worse youngsters for the time being, and bring Edgar along for the sunnier climes.
  4. Did you really need to slow down everyones page loading times by posting those images? get a faster computer Get lessons in politeness please.
  5. Why haven't you picked him then? Edited removal to accommodate a proper holding midfielder. Forgot to edit the explanation.

    Edgar?

Perhaps there is a possibility that Roeder sees Edgar as being the best of Huntington, Ramage and Edgar, but opts to play the other two knowing that in the long-run, the other trwo wont make it, while a slowly-bled David Edgar could potentially become a Newcastle great?
  7. Are you being serious? Name any player who can do it better. Not wide right or wide left, but through the middle.

  9. How the hell would you know that? And that would just be the silliest thing since a general had to intervene in Monty Python sketches cos things were getting too silly. George bush would probably think that the club was affiliated with Torquay United.
  10. A Taylor27 thread inspires HTL, it cannot be! My team would be: James G Neville Ferdinand Woodgate A. Cole Gerrard Hargreaves Dyer J. Cole Owen Rooney James is the best English keeper, Owen, Rooney, Gary Neville and Ashley Cole pick themselves, Terry is too slow for the good teams who rely less on aerial ability than Premiership clubs do, therefore Ferdinand gets the nod. Lennon is the best right winger. Dyer is the best player in the world at rapidly linking up the midfield with the attack.
  11. No, because Arsenal is a word which means guns, and fits in with the MLS image. New York Newcastle would just sound silly.
  12. Shearer credited international retirement as prolonging his career. Given the earliness of the ban, I'd say it could mean that Martins is firing them in for NUFC aged 47 (or 54 if you prefer)
  13. http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_1904082,00.html Roeder has a point. Why should Gerrard get rested for 45 minutes, while Dyer, a player comparatively more important for his club, who has also been sufferring awful injury problems recently, be made to play the full 90?
  14. Italian clubs could take a big hit on their gate receipts over the coming seasons. Also Italian clubs are closest to us in terms of TV revenue, at 40% less, next year, the gap shall be even bigger.
  15. Harper should be proud of himself tbh, could have gone off and got regular first team football somewhere else and no doubt a higher salary given his status but he has chosen to stay and fight for his place here. i agree, would like all players to be like that Luque does that too.
  16. We've released a club statement which doesn't make sense. Think its saying that it probably wont happen, but they aren't sure.

    Bookies

This is like Hitzfeld all over again. Oh my god, they've cancelled betting. They must be making Glenn Hoddle our new manager.
  18. So being the sixth best English club of all time, should we be happy with the average 5th placed finishes we've had over the past ten years under Shepherd? Should we not be doing better than that. Statistics would show Shepherd as being a merely average chairman.
  19. I do believe that Dyer does have something that would improve both the Chelsea and Liverpool teams, but not Manyoo or Arsenal because the attacking balance in their teams are perfect at the moment. He would also be at teams which wouldn't rely on him during every game, something that would suit him.

    England-Spain

With regards to Milner, he is a very good premiership footballer, but his first touch isn't good enough for international level. Against good defenders, he is therefore unable to create enough time and space for himself. However, this applies for quite a few of our attacking players right now such as Lampard.
  21. Oh my god, how weird did I go last night? I even named a 12 man team and didn't notice even after it was pointed out to me. Sorry people.
  22. I would have to say Dyer. There is no other player who from a central position can connect the midfield to the attack at a rapid speed.
  23. Would be between him and Robben. Dyer wouldn't be affected by this selection decision.
  24. Wouldnt be enough space to effectively play one-touch football.
  25. Individuals, not best adapted for a destructive team system.
