Every season, the success of each countries clubs in Europe is given a score by UEFA, and the national ranking determines the number of European places allocated to each national league. It is in our interests to support all rival clubs in all European competitions, even if we want them to do badly in the League/domestic cups. So it is idiotic to be upset to see Liverpool/Chelsea/Spurs progress, as you are quite literally biting off the hand that feeds you.

Used to play at right back for us.

Does this guy have any business experience? Unlikely given his background. Either he is here to take over the footballing decisions, to be a footballing figurehead for certain business deals, or he is someone for Shepherd/Halls to use as a scapegoat.
-
Other Chief Executives hire and fire the managers. Means that Shepherd may not be as involved any more, especially if the Halls have decided to reduce his involvement.

We need a Beardsley up front. Tevez would fit that bill. If we were to sign him, he'd be the first name on my teamsheet, that's for sure.
-
I have no idea why the players were booed at half-time. We were looking quite confident and effective on the ball. If we had remained confident in the early stages of the second half, we would have won the game in my opinion.

Hitzfeld is leaving Bayern in the Summer....

not that

Further proof. T27 dreams of the scratch and sniff Web 3.0 You've misunderstood the context of what I said. I'm saying that the fact that GeJon owns a signed pair of JJ's shorts is further proof of something else.

Further proof.

Also, add to their list of problems the presense of anonymous players and club sources blabbing to the press.

That is totally kneejerk. Has he not has several lengthy abscences this season? It always seems to be a different thing with him, groin, hamstring, flu. He will never develop any sort of consistancy if he keeps missing games. Played 26 games, and as far as I'm aware, he hasn't done his hamstring or his groin this season, his only real notable absence was from an almost identical injury to the one Zoggy has only just come back from. Injuries happen, the don't make a player the next Dyer. Describing having the flu as meaning that you are the next Kieron Dyer is totally kneejerk. My cat had the flu recently, that doesn't make her the new Kieron Dyer.

Can only be good that we have more than enough good players in attacking positions

Even funnier if it was someone who hated Scott Parker.

I've thought long and hard about this, and I feel that we need a radical approach to see of Boro: Martins Carr Luque Emre Dyer Butt Ramage Bramble Taylor Given Harper I suggest that if we sit back and defend all game, Given and Harper can get some shots on target with long kicks from half way. Luque could be the next Marcelino. With the Boro left back sitting back expecting some pace, Butt's lack of pace is going to totally confuse him. Dyer is the perfect replacement for injury prone Babayaro. The technical ability and first touch of Ramage will allow for some effective first-time long distance passes. If Boro get too good, Emre can racially abuse that Fat Aussie Mark Viduka. Having Taylor AMC is a risk as he may get sent off, but there is a bigger chance of his dives winning penalties. Martins is small, but has a good leap on him. Carr would make a very effective right back.
-
very much in agreement with you I find it embarrassing that people are trying to excuse racism on the basis that it's considered more acceptable elsewhere, so we should just let them get on with it here as well. Yes, but there is ignorance and malice. Ignorance needs education, while malice needs punishment. From what has been reported, Emre's racism seems to stem from ignorance rather than any actual malice. Therefore, there needs to be more emphasis on educating him and less emphasis on punishing him in my opinion.
-
This racism is all a very grey area to me. Emre is essentially using words that are considered harmless in his own country. I personally cant see any real malice in what he said.

Sven was so worried about a reccurence in injury he banned Owen from playing in Shearer's testimonial for fuck sake. England were totally negligent, and were supported by the rules set out by FIFA. We deserve several million.
-
The rules state that international clubs can call up any player against the player's or club's wishes, and failure to comply leads to domestic suspensions, fines, or even deducted points.

Actually, totally misread that, none ofthe money is going to the FA, all to us, but Blatter says we have to get the rest from the FA and our insurers. We had asked for the entire unspent £7m compensation kitty set aside by FIFA, but it would seem that the greedy fuckers have decided to pocket it.
-
FIFA are just greedy fuckers. They should be made accountable, after all, the make so much money from forcing clubs to give up their best assets for the World Cup, so why shouldn't they pay? They've literally gone and handed the FA a big pay cheque, and told us that if we want it, we'll have to sue them.
-
That is absolutely insulting. Blatter says that most of the money is going to our insurers and the FA.
