You've come to that conclusion having seen him in one game against a naff Newcastle side, three years ago? Naff Newcastle side? Definitely not the case
-
Just been confirmed on .cock: Rod Stewart is Obafemi Martins.
-
I think it was just coincedence. I doubt Big Sam went out of his way to get Rozehnal in to see Rod Stewart. I can see Souness actively discouraging Rozehnal to go, while Roeder would only think about it when Rozehnal was on the plane back to Czech Republic, and decide that he'll just have to bring him along to one of his Kuyt scouting trips one day.

I'm suprised no-one has pointed out the key point regarding the change in boardroom structure. Previously, it consisted of five acquaintances, with 50/50 splits between Shepherd and Hall being decided by the so-called impartial Revill. Now, there are three people on the board, and two of them are Ashley's men. Shepherd has a seat on the board where he can at least offer advice on footballing matters, but he pretty much has no say on the final boardroom decisions.

I think it is absolutely brilliant that Sam Allardyce chose to bring Rozehnal to the Rod Stewart concert. This is after all his first foreign signing, and Rozehnal got the chance to meet some of the staff and their families in a chilled out, laid back setting, with the added chance of being able to sample some sort of atmosphere at SJP. This will certainly help him settle a little.

.co.uk tells the public as much as the manager and board want them to know. It was busier when Roeder was on there every day making promises he couldn't keep. Would you prefer to see something like that again? Allardyce announces once on it that he is interested in a player - he doesn't need to keep repeating himself, and nothing needs to be said until everything is done and dusted, as we can rely on the watchful media telling us as much as the Official Site could tell us. Thus club staff are spending more time doing important stuff than wasting time telling people what we really already know.

Can you ever post anything without a massive capitalised team line-up?

This guy reminds me of a skinny Albert actually.

We've lost a lot of leads in the past. Perhaps Rozehnal is someone we could use off the bench to plug the midfield in those late stages. From what I've seen, he can be very cultured, tidy on the ball, and knows how to deliver a low pass into the feet of a target man.

Hmmm ... First stable season in years? Since 2005 they mean? Or 2004 (6th)? Oh, I should post this on the article comments, really. Ah, thanks for correcting me on that, I can fix that.

Funny that this was written six minutes before this was published: http://www.newcastle-online.com/2007/06/25/buying-from-our-premiership-rivals-2007-aston-villa/#more-705 You probably sensed some Taylor27 brainwaves.

1000 This is a very protracted transfer. We are much slower at doing business abroad I've noticed.

All I know is that 100p wasn't good enough, 101p was. It doesn't matter that Ashley upped the offer to 101p, he'd only do that after the initial offer was rejected, Shepherd had to have his 1p per share more than the Hall's. As I understood the Hall's sale agreement, Ashley had to pay them the offer bid. Their deal was only an agreement that if Ashley aquired similar agreements for so many shares, the Halls would accept any offer higher than 100p. Thus the Halls got 101p as well. Though I may have misinterpreted.

Well I certainly wasn't stating it as fact, but I thought it would be interesting to discuss the possibility of the scenario I mentioned. That scenario was the first thing that came to mind when I read the article. You might indeed be right though and it will be very interesting to see what happens in the next week, prior to his return to training. One thing you can be certain of is that Oliver never hints at anything. If he knows something, or incorrectly thinks he knows something, he'll be shouting it from the rooftops.
-
that's the question isn't it? for example how have owens wages been paid for 2 years? the first injury he got (broken foot) was for us against spurs so we'd have got nothing for that other than our own insurance (if that even applies at club level which i doubt) so his wages will have been paid for a year, in fact just less than a year dunno something fishy there if you ask me - does it include the clubs own insurance for owens wages or just from the fa? too vague to be trusted We took out insurance against Owen's wages that covered everything that wasn't covered by the FA insurers, so it does come to about 18 months of insurers paying his wages. This source was just giving a vague overview of the money collected. I've heard that Oliver's source is a friend of Shepherd who is not a club employee, so he is never going to know the exact details.
-
KaKa, I think you have over analysed the Chronicle article. It is basically Oliver reciting his Arsenal ITKness, and mentioning that Owen has a delayed return to training (common practice for internationals), before announcing the bleeding obvious fact that we wont be signing any more strikers unless one of our current batch leave. Owen will be here next season, banging in the goals that will put us in potential title race by next February.
-
Extra rest from the international matches probably. Taylor and Milner will probably have an even longer training break. Also, the club give Owen time out for sponsorship commitments sometimes, so it may be because of that.
-
Well done Freddy Shepherd.
-
He became a non-executive director in December 98, as he was forced to resign due to the brothel incident
-
From the club accounts ... William Frederick Shepherd: Appointed director of the football club in November 1991 and subsequently as chairman in July1998. Appointed as Non-executive director of Newcastle United PLC in December 1998, became a full time Executive Director in August 2001 ands was appointed Chairman in 2002. (NE5 will disagree with me on this as I've taken it from a club publication, but you can probably assume it is okay) So in other words, while he was chairman: Dodgy Dalglish transfers Appointment of Gullit Start of decline under Robson commenced shortly after his second spell as chairman commenced Sacking of Bobby Robson Appointment of Souness Signing of Owen and others. Accused by both Souness and Robson as the man actually in charge of transfers. Appointment of Roeder Appointment of Allardyce And while he was at the club, but not chairman: Appointment of Keegan Signing of Shearer 2nd in the league Appointment of Dalglish Appointment of Robson Champions League Qualification.

Wouldn't believe any Nigerian authority - they are as corrupt as hell.

You'd be better off trying to go and see Newcastle play someone like Wigan, Portsmouth or Reading.

thus the day is clear?google is shit lol. We want to order tickets before. As we make best. Newcastle vs Liverpool is a popular match for television. Thus, do not rule out the game being on either Saturday at 12, Sunday at 2pm or 4pm, or maybe even Monday at 8pm. May be a difficult game to get tickets for as well if we are in good form.
