  1. I just hope that they don’t send Lee Ryder in an investigative trip to Dubai, the world couldn’t cope with the redness of his skin
  2. Well we were promised developments on Friday so let’s see what happens at the weekend
  3. No reason to get excited or despondent yet, lets just continue with our day to day lives
  4. This was what was said on page 990 of the last thread and it’s worth rehighligting Offline last_monetarist New Member View Profile Personal Message (Offline) Re: Various: Mike Ashley agrees sale of NUFC to Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan « Reply #24734 on: Today at 06:21:52 am » Quote from: Penn on Yesterday at 11:56:32 pm This guy is a running joke in the UAE - the black sheep/whipping boy of the royal family whose personal wealth is relatively paltry compared to more senior members of the Al Nahyan dynasty. The Liverpool deal fell through because they realised they were dealing with a fantasist who didn't actually have access to the cash being talked about. This will end in tears one way or another. Yup, the guy is considered a bit of a laughing stock in the Emirates. The folks at Liverpool were scrambling to disassociate themselves from the story when his side leaked it to the press. I'd consider Mike Ashley a certifiable genius compared to this fella. I'd advise caution, this isn't a sovereign entity purporting to buy the club. We have harrowing case studies of White Knight owners from the Middle East trying to rebuild two proud English clubs (Forest & Pompey) over the past decade.
  5. Can’t celebrate anything until the PL are notified, there are too many chancers out there
  6. The Mail article reads bad as it lols like it has been continually updated by multiple authors without a proofread. It doesn’t however hide the fact that Mail have investigated by speaking to Man City and Liverpool, and this is what they came back with
  7. Noticed his emirati has changed from Dubai to Abu Dhabi and now according to the Mail is Dubai again
  8. He built the academy next to the Etihad. This provides facilities to locals playing football, from the senior team to the youth, and even woman’s teams. They have a stadium there that would be the envy of some League 1 clubs, and others that would exceed the quality of lower and non-league teams. The whole campus site takes up a considerable size of the city, probably comparable to the size of the Newcastle University campus. Lately they have also been building local affordable housing and other facilities in typically poor and run down areas of Manchester. You are underplaying that a bit there Srif when I moved to Manchester in 2011 that eastern part of Manchester was a real dive and very undesirable. Mansour has literally transformed that region, house price are shooting up faster than any other part of Manchester.
  9. I think the problem was that he couldn't raise the £2billion, and therefore didn't want to squander his deposit. I'm no businessman, but I'm sure that raise £350m is a different challenge from raising £2bn, which is far more than anyone has paid for a an English club before. That is very true, reduces my scepticism a little for sure.
  10. I hope it does work out but remember what others have said, was asked to pay Liverpool a £25m deposit then couldn’t find the money
  11. Just calm the fuck down people. There are some serious question marks I’ve this guy. It may not happen at all and if it does he may still be shite. Best to celebrate once we’ve had an opportunity to witness some success from it.
  12. We are switching back to Adidas kits?
  13. He won’t be in a job for very long because Richard Keys is mates with the potential new owners allegedly
  14. We bash out new Ashley threads faster than George RR Martin
  15. Only time will tell I suppose. But it’s the transfer window and Rafas contract expires soon, we don’t have time.
  16. Yep. Though I reckon if true, you will see the shift a lot of people want. iirc, on here anyway, the ashley warnings were based on absolutely nothing because he was an an unknown hermit before taking us over...there was barely even a picture of him Pretty much the first page Toontastic says he is known by his business associates as being a nasty piece of work
  17. To be fair some people tried to warn us about Ashley and we didn’t heed it. I’m not going to make that same mistake again
  18. Would be funny if they don’t actually want Rafa as manager due to a friendship struck up with Mark Hughes
  19. Can he not have some Tapas in peace?
  20. From the sounds of it coaching Christian Atsu is a very pleasant and rewarding experience
  21. James

    Sean Longstaff

However the trouble is that because Longstaff is in low wages the money given to Rafa will need to cover fees and wages.

I believe Fergie has said sign him to replace Carrick which is why Man Utd are going to throw bags of cash at us. £45m
  23. I was just making the point that Keegan was just a good Newcastle manager not a great manager. Rafa Benitez and Sir Bobby Robson proved to be great managers all over the world. Rafa Benitez and Sir Bobby both won trophies in 3 different leagues by far the best we’ve had in terms of highest level of manager in charge of the club Mustn’t forget about the glory days of trophy-laden Dalglish, Gullit and Souness. Even Roeder won the Intertoto Cup and Pardew won a friendly tournament in Spain
