  1. Chelsea have got progressively worse and their owner has lost interest so I’m not sure they are the best model really won 15 trophies in 15 seasons so whatever they do works Think you are being a bit shortsighted (too much masturbation), it hasn’t ended well for Chelski.

  3. You aren’t mixing him with Silva are you? Poch has got sacked once after about eight straight years managing in this league
  4. Our points total is totally to thank for the takeover. A buyer would want a run at the summer transfer window but would take too long to complete a deal once safety was secured in previous seasons. However with a 5% deposit required clubs would never bid mid-season when we’ve been a risky, recently promoted proposition. This has been our first occasion of looking safe in March. It’s debatable who you attach that thanks to but I get Luke Edwards logic on that one.
  5. Hmm this does go with what I was told yesterday and was sceptical about...
  6. Should add that I don’t personally believe it but raises a good point that the checks are not that simple and have a lot of interdependencies
  7. Heard a weird one from a work colleague just now, PIF and Reubens have passed FPP but Staveley hasn’t yet and needs another 4 weeks for her husband to have FPP checks
  8. Chill. With this week it’s been 4 weeks. The PRL test could take up to 4 weeks. Then the transfer of money is ”a few days” so this could drag on to next week. Exactly, plus everything is happening slower due to lockdown so we can’t stick an arbitrary timescale to it. For instance, directors need their criminal records checked. Who else need their criminal records checked? Thousands of new temporary NHS recruits. What’s the priority?
  9. First impression of the headline speakers is that it is a bit heavy on the global / human rights outlook. Ok if they only get 15 mins and are cognisant of local and footballing issues, but if they spend 2 hrs just talking down the fan base it’s going to be horrific.
  10. To be honest I’ve been optimistic we would get sold, even at a time when you would be shouted down for thinking otherwise. Thanks Jinky for giving ourselves a place to believe unoppressed
  11. If they aren’t doing it until that late is there a chance we could end up being given the Cup’s Europa place by virtue of everyone else’s league position?
  12. Is Steve Wraith that Stevieintoon bloke who attempted tho ethnically cleanse the non-Geordies on the forum and famously literally shit his pants in public
  13. My preferred front 4 for next season are Coutinho, Zaha, Bale, Lukaku. We basically need a new forward line and I think Premier League experience is essential
  14. People who aren’t voting for Jonas need to get some perspectives. These were all lows, but Jonas treatment was despicable and went way beyond just football.
  15. More recent, but gatecrashing Andi Peters
  16. Also the research that the club did demonstrating that cup runs equal relegation
  17. Official NUFC Statement: September 6 NUFC wished, at all times, to keep any dispute that it had with Kevin Keegan private. It is therefore disappointing that information has reached the media through unnamed sources and a briefing has been given by the League Managers Association that could give rise to a misleading impression amongst the Club's fans. Newcastle United have no desire to engage in a war of words but inaccurate reporting of factual matters and inaccurate allegations have to be corrected. It is a fact that Kevin Keegan, on appointment on 16th January 2008, agreed to report to a Director of Football and to the Board. It is a fact that Kevin Keegan worked within that structure from 16th January 2008 until his resignation. It is a fact that Kevin Keegan, as manager, had specific duties in that he was responsible for the training, coaching, selection and motivation of the Team. It is a fact that Kevin Keegan was allowed to manage his specific duties without any interference from any Board member. It is a fact that Kevin Keegan agreed only to deal with the media in relation to Club matters relating to the Team and not to communicate with the media in relation to the acquisition or disposal of players. It is a fact that NUFC is a business and operates, like all businesses, with financial constraints. It is a fact that NUFC's financial constraints inform its transfer dealings. The Board of NUFC have responsibility to ensure that the club is able to meet its commitments which include the wages and the transfer fees for players. The structure at NUFC is clear, and has been clear from 16th January 2008.
  18. I just hope that they don’t have to do the same criminal records checks that nurses do because there is a one month backlog.
  19. A few things to think about: 1. Do you know that she is not sending letters to other businesses, or is it just selective media reporting? 2. Do you think she genuinely expects a positive outcome, or are letters more a case of keeping her campaign, rightly, in the media? 3. What would you do if your partner was murdered by another state?
  20. Man some of these new members are Mini-Lee Stewarts. Is it really open season for new accounts?
  21. An American consortium called REM have taken over and can’t cancel their Telegraph subscription
  22. Can we change thread title to R.E.M. Confirm Takeover of Thread or something like that please

    Kevin Keegan

Do you think Rafa would want Keegan around the place? I'm not convinced by the Keegan story. It sounds like the kind of thing that would get made up. If true, I think it would be a mistake to detract any attention from the manager, who will be trying to make his own history. And of course the minute anything goes slightly wrong, there's going to be a crazy section shouting for KK to take over. Rafa has worked at a number of clubs were ex-players and managers are doing ambassadorial duties behind the scenes. It’s no big deal in fact it’s something that anyone should expect from any prestigious club
  24. Gullit wasn’t the best manager but has always by his actions come across as a very honourable man
