That 2nd goal he was literally hiding at the near post behind a Liverpool player while Butt covered the Liverpool player (Butt was between the Liverpool player and the ball, whilst Colo was in the 1ft of space between the Liverpool player and the near post.) This left Kuyt competely unmarked in the middle of the box.

I reckon Carroll should come on for Lovenkrands. Martins & Viduka are being effectively isolated because they don't need to defend against Lovenkrands, he is providing almost no penetration down the left wing and when he does he doesn't have the technical skill to achieve anything. Bringing Carroll on will stretch Liverpool down that side of the pitch. Harper has been Given~esque today.

Were fucked! Michael Owen can take his huge fucking paycheck and can just fuck right off. All time crock purchase of the history of NUFC. How he can sleep at night collecting the wages he does with the scoring rate he has is beyond me. Yeah, he needs more service, but when the ball does get to him he doesn't do shit with it. He's a complete fucking waste and one of the major reasons why we'll be playing at Peterborough next year. Yeah I know others are major contributors too, but Owen over the past 4 years he has siphoned so much money out of the club for next to no return that he is clearly one of the reasons we've had limited ability to invest in other players. Owen can lay claim to costing NUFC over 40,960,000 pounds (including any bonuses and less FA compensation, etc...) for a return of 30 goals. That's 1.4 million pounds per NUFC career goal. I hope he feels proud of his time with the Toon.

Am staying up all night to watch this. Game starts at 5am local time (Melbourne/Australia). My guts are churning and my head feels like it's going to split in two. I am beyond hoping, more like preying, for a good result, but I am fully prepared for our team to not step up (as they haven't so many times before this season) and to be heading off to work in the morning (straight after the game ends) knowing the only sports team in the world that I regularly (every 2 hrs) follow/support will be relegated and I will not be able to see any of their games next season (hardly any Championship games are shown in Australia). NUFC Players: For the love of all that you hold dear, even if you hate the supports and only love your Aston Martins, please do what has to be done and win this game!!!.

This I would say the same formation, with one exception. I think the formation should have Owen and Viduka swapped. Owen has been Mr Nobody when he's dropped back to help in midfield, yet Viduka's whole game these days is about getting possession, holding the ball for a bit and then feeding players making forward movement. So I'd put Viduka in that central forward role to act as a target man, to get the ball, hold it at his feet, allow Martins and Owen to make runs in to the box, and then passing it to Owen's or Martin's feet. Watching NUFC play is like visiting an aunt in hospital who is dying of cancer.
