The championship is a completely different beast, lots of teams who have been investing in their women's teams for a good few years. Huge step up, and massive investment will be needed, but I think that's why they got the guy in from forest, he knows the league really well!!

Yea it is a strange situation! 2012 was the first year we had a GB team, so maybe it just feels weird because of that. Obviously the players would still love to be part of it though! I think Little has retired and Weir has done her acl, so I actually think cuthbert is the only Scottish player would get in the squad, or certainly the only one who would have a chance of any game time. Looking at the Wales squad, probably only Ingle would be a decent Good start for England!!

Love that the media are trying to hype up this narrative! Th Scottish players are absoluley raging about it! I reckon only 1, maybe 2 would make the squad, but outside of the USA, the Olympics is not regarded as that big of a deal in women's football anyway!

Wolves losing is good, I would definitely expect them to be up there at the end of the season. Most likely the league will be won by very small margains given only 12 (I think) teams on league, so it's so important not to drop points to lower teams, and then not to lose against the top teams!!

Pretty bad example you've used, as both those teams are in the championship, and the bottom end of it too! Can't imagine many people would be excited if the 4:30pm spot was QPR v Rotherham on the mens side either!! I think it's probably a combination of it being the opening week of the WSL, and the Ryder Cup as you've said, but don't worry, us women will get back to the rubbish kick of times which are really inconvient soon! He's been suspended by FIFA now, and the entire coaching staff have resigned with the exception of the manager.....who all the players hate!

I think it runs a lot deeper than that, but the fact he did that on the world stage in front of all the cameras has empowered the players to call for him to resign. The whole organisation seems horrific!!

He's lost the plot now! Refusing to stand down, and basically making out he's the victim and getting a standing ovation for doing so! Shows that the players who stood down before the world cup had good reason as there are clearly issues running right though the organisation! Absolutely gutted with the way that went. I'm fully on the sarina bandwagon, bit I think she played her cards too soon. Taking Russo and Daly off half time was weird, as bringing James on not in the number 10 role didn't really add anything. I would have given it 10 mins then brought her on for Toone. Quite a lot of the team will be at the end of their careers in 4 years time, so it will be interesting to see if we start to bring the youngsters in now or if Sarina uses the same squad to get through the next Euros.

I kind of get where Halifax are coming from, it's a world cup final and they don't want to watch it in some random room at Kingston Park and then have to go and play their first game of the season! The line is that he's resigning, but definitely a case of jumping before he's pushed. Will be interesting to see who they get!
