  1. Great short term signing. Can just imagine the height now at set peices with Campbell, Williamson, Carroll and Ameobi in there, if all are played together. W
  2. As good as he is, I would think Hughton has more positions in the team to fill as priority over another midfielder. I cannot see him coming to SJP especially as Hughton has signed Gosling, probably will sign Cleverely on loan and with the prospect of Taylor being out for a considerable time, another centre half is now more important. Furthermore, cover at left back is also a priority as well as a nippy striker. I would rather see us sign the turkish lad from PSG than this guy.

What about the 12 million you spent on Yakuba, 6 million on Baines, 4 million on Jagielka and 6 million on Arteta? I know Moyes does a reasonable job budget wise but you have conveniently forgotten abpout some of your other major acquisitions here.
  4. I thought this was supposed to be a realistic transfer thread. Fuck me..........Bellamy??????................upwards of 7 millioin quid, 80K a week and would probably manage 20 games max due to injuries. Not forgetting the past history, of course. Ireland is even better. Where are we gonna find upwards of 10 million for him? C'mon guys, lets get realistic.

Splodge I dont personally have anything against your team, nor do I know any NUFC fans who do. Assumptions regarding you lot switching off in that match can also be termed as our lot, not having anything to play for, upped their game. Anyway, the fact that Serella and Co. got off scot free for their involvement should not be under estimated in what was clearly, at the time and still stands today in some circles, the indifference of the southern press to NUFC.

Grasping at straws. I really don't care about the fee. We signed a player that gives us some depth. Solid pick up imo. He only 24 and was a club captain. For Forest 1.2 million is a real load of money, is all that says. Considering all you guys seem to do is harp on about how bitter us Forest fans are, you lot sure seem to have a chip on your shoulder in regards to us. We were top 6 biggest net spenders in the Championship for the past 2 seasons and are debt free. Yes, we were positively gagging for money. This isn't Jenas, you haven't just helped us stave off financial difficulties. In fact, from the looks of this forum, it seems like if anything, £1.2million was more than you guys were expecting to spend this summer. As for Daniel Taylor, he's rarely, if ever wrong. Forest are one of those weird clubs that rarely report directly to the press (hence why you'll not hear us commenting on transfer stories too often, if at all, until they've happened), but word gets around anyway - that's how we found out about the Perch deal before you guys. I presume Newcastle run a tighter knit shop in respect to letting transfer targets loose? The way to be really. Can't even spend your way out of the division, no wonder you are bitter. Can't even spend your way to a title, no wonder you've been bitter. I'm not bitter thanks. All I've known as a Forest fan is s***, so I'm pretty much accustomed to it. Last year was a pleasant shock to the system. Davies not knowing about it is pretty much for par here. From the tone of his interview, it seems had it been a different player, he'd have been fuming, which tells me either he doesn't mind the deal we got for Perch, or he at least knew it was possibility. It's really nothing new though. Our Jan transfer debacle and Billy's reaction to it are the two reasons why we didn't remain competitive in the title challenge. You sound bitter, bitter enough to come on here and give us your negative opinion, there's got to be some bitterness to do that. I don't go sign up to a fans forum everytime we sell a player and tell them how crap he is, the bitterness doesn't flow like that with me. Were back in the prem, that's all that matters really, you've go it all to do and a panel is selling players behind your managers back regardless of how you want to dress it up. He won't stick around for long, if an offer comes in for himself he'll leave and no doubt you'll chase down the fans forum and tell them all how s*** a manager he is and you are quite happy to see the back of him. Maybe we can sign him up, we need a new academy manager. Grasping at straws. I really don't care about the fee. We signed a player that gives us some depth. Solid pick up imo. I presume Newcastle run a tighter knit shop in respect to letting transfer targets loose? The way to be really. Crikey, touchy. Yeah sorry, know I overreacted a bit. Combination of heat and having been accused of bitterness by quite a few Newcastle fans I guess. Grasping at straws. I really don't care about the fee. We signed a player that gives us some depth. Maybe we can sign him up, we need a new academy manager. Actually, I signed up in January when your interest in Perch had become apparent to appease Newcastle fans that he wouldn't be a total catastrophe in the Championship, but nevertheless to share my bemusement in regards to your actual interest. Forest were still very much competitive at that time in terms of league position, our game against you was still to come, and I simply signed up to offer an opposition's perspective, as I know I'd appreciate if the shoe had been on the other foot. Of course, now the transfer has actually gone through, I'm bitter. Fine. If that's how you handle it, then fair enough. I wouldn't care if Billy left if you really want to know. Would probably be a bit miffed, a bit annoyed, but his moaning in the press has annoyed me, and his inability to take the blame, and instead find his excuse in our 'young' squad does get a little frustrating when tactical failures were evident in our play-off embarrassment. I for one was delighted to see you guys go back up. I have no grudge over an FA Cup game that happened before my time (I empathise with those who were around, including my dad who was there, but not those who carry it for the sake of having one), and as a supporter of '2 times European champions' Forest, whose supporters clearly believe they're as big as Man Utd and deserve to be back in the 'big time', and shouldn't have slummed it in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy against Chester, and in League One, I know exactly what it's like to be misrepresented by the media. Both sets of fans seem to carry the media's misconceptions of the other set of fans - that's the irony of the two clubs really. But yes, I'm bitter of your success and bitter about Perch leaving us for a decent fee. I apologise fully for trying to give you guys an insight, as evidently it was just a sign of bitterness on my part. Splodgley I was interested to see you mentioned that FA cup game which appears to still rankle Forest supporters. I assume you mean the 4-3 defeat at SJP in 1974? For the life of me, I cannot understand why you guys should be upset. I was at that match, in the stands and had a birds eye view of the entire situation. The London press blew the entire matter out of proportion and seemed to be happy to lay the blame totally at our doorstep without any proportion of blame at all to the refereeing of the game or for that matter, the physical assault by two Forest players on young Newcastle supporters who ran on the pitch to get away from the crush. One of the players concerned was a certain Dave Serella who knocked the seven bells of hell out of a young kid as he ran past. It prompted me to write to a national newspaper asking them to obtain TV footage and instigate proceedings against Serella and his mate. Needless to say, nothing happened but it is was a bloody disgrace. You might also tell your Dad to remember that with half an hour to go, 3-1 up with a man advantage on the park, the referee offered your manager and your team the option of having the game abandoned and replayed later. Needless to say, your lot said you wanted to finish the game so having complaints about the entire situation are totally incorrect. You had the advantage in all ways and lost it.......simple as that. How do I know these things? The Newcastle United goalkeeper, Willie McFaul and the reserve team left back, Alan Kennedy, are both personal friends of mine and both told me what went on behind the scenes during that 20 minute interlude in the game. Apparently, Forest manager, Alan Brown, wouldnt hear of the game being called off whilst Newcastle manager, Joe Harvey, had no alternative but to go along with whatever decision was cooked up. Later on, a Forest player told a Newcastle player after the replays at Goodison Park that they were all shocked at eventually losIng that game at SJP that they cooked up a false story of players being attacked by the fans in order to force the FA into ordering a replay. They knew that none of their players were touched and in fact, some of them were extremely upset at Serella and his mate for attacking those young fans. Justice was done in the end. So, after all these years, you can tell your Dad and those fans who still hold a grudge, the real truth.
  7. According to the Sunday Mirror, Boyd has agreed to join Middlesbrough. Seems we are after bigger fish Guy on another forum swears down blind Joe Cole will sign for us if we increase our weekly offer from 50K to 70K. Apparently, he knmows someone who knows his wife...................taken with a pinch of salt, of course.
  8. Arsenal tried to sighn him during Souness's reign. Money was tight at the time because Souness wanted Owen and Shepherd felt Hsrper was good enough to take over from Given. The price quoted at the time was 8 million but in the end, Given said he wanted to stay and henceforth Shepherd used all the NR money to buy Owen. My source is a personal friend who is a former NUFC player, now managing elsewhere.
  9. err, I happen to know that they did and we were considering the offer but Given didnt want to go.
  10. HE DEAPARTED FOR MONEY, MONEY, MONEY! He didn't give a flying f*** for the supporters when Cities filthy lucre was wangled in front of his pikey nose. He lied to supporters by inferring the Liverpool game was the 'final straw' when its now common knowledge he was actively seeking an exit two months earlier. For what its worth (you can search my posts) but I infered well before the Liverpool game that City had 'tapped him up' because that was something I was told by someone I know would know. I don't doubt Givens ability (despite an obvious weakness here and there) we could - and did with Harper, have had much much worse over the years. Lets not also forget he was in all likely hood on TOP WAGES for over a decade at NUFC and would have departed here an extremely wealthy man - which makes his greed even more disgusting in my view. 13 games and I doubt there would be even one vote in the JUDAS option. None so blind I suppose.... Absolute bollocks, mate. Given could have gone a few years earlier, particularly to Aesenal for salary well above what he was getting at the time. He didnt. He remained loyal. At his age, the opportunities for winning something were rapidly disappearing and noone could deny we were in freefall at the time. Man City made an offer which may not have still been there at the end of the season so he had little choice to follow his ambitions and leave. After all, he has more chance of winning medals with them than he has with us. True?
  11. England have to be brave and attack them from the off. If they sit back, Germany will open us up and win Please dont play Lampard, Fabio
  12. I did my level 3 here in Australia 15 years ago. It was brilliant and I learned a lot. For my major session, I was told that the next day, I was to put a half an hour session using the Victorian under 21 womans team on penetration. So, I went home and video taped me shagging the wife. Only problem was my "visual aid" took up most of the morning session. Only joking lads....................I recommend anyone to do these courses because if you think you know a lot about football beforehand, you will find out just how little you actually know afterwards.
  13. You cannot blame him really. Like any professional, he wants to play at the highest possible standard and he could see how badly the rot had set in at the club. I remember well that Liverpool home game when we lost 5-1. If it wasnt for Given, it would have been double figures. The writing was on the wall well before that anyway and I dont blame him for leaving. At the time, he was too good for us.
  14. Always be attacking bro...Always.. yes, well lets hope they are more effective tomorrow night than they were against USA and Algeria.
  15. Loved the caption in the Sun today with the bermans on safari, gaged up in front of three lions..............class. I think England will win and avenge the defeat of Australia. Germany was not particularly impressive against either Ghana and Serbia and certainly looked suspect at the back. It was interesting to see how worried they were by the height of Zigic, who created the only goal of the game. Makes me feel that Crouch/Defoe partnership up front will be useful as Germany appeared worried about Zigic's height all day. I think England's confidence will be up for this one and as someone else said on here, Beckenbauer has already done Capello's motivation talk. Now, it is a question of tactics and we should attack them from the start in numbers.
  16. TBH.....................Only one stagnating is Ronaldo.............................LOL
  17. I think England will win, if and it is a big if, they really attack Germany. Crouch and Defoe up front, Rooney in behind. result 3-0 win. My Team James Johnson, Terry, Upson, Cole Barry Gerrard, Rooney, J.Cole Crouch, Defoe
  18. Make sure mit isnt Australia. We dont need wankers like you................LOL
  19. Highly likely, Wullie. However, football isnt our national sport and our 20 million odd inhabitants do not really expect Australia to get any further than the group stages, unlike the 70 odd million poms who believed they are going to win the competition before a ball was kicked. Wouldnt it be funny if England failed to beat Slovenia and didnt get out of the group stages either? Technically, that would make England just as unsuccessful as Australia. ...............LOL
  20. I have been living here in Oz for longer than I lived in England and it is not a question of supporting one or the other. I like to see both do well in all sports. When it comes to the Ashes, I usually support England, much to the bewilderment of many of my work colleagues but that is more to do with Englland usually being the under dog in such contests. I enjoy sport being played with commitment, enthusiasm, skill and heart, something the current England football team currently lacks. I hope they improve and prove me wrong, but like many on here who have already commented, they are not too hopeful. As for the C word, there are something like 440, 000 words in the official Oxford dictionary. If you try very hard, I am sure you will find a description which will NOT get you banned.........LOL
  21. Less English than you??????? You are a fucking moron, arent you? What a ridicu;ous comment. Lets have a poll from all the mother ex pats on here who feel they are not Eng;ish now because they are living abroad. and this from a so called die hard englishman with a knickname on here as RONALDO. Why not Rooney, Gerrard or even Rob Green. Grow up, sonny.
  22. Dont put words on paper that dont exist. Show me where I have said I want England to lose. If you could read properly, then you will notice that I wrote that I wanted the winner of the world cup to have played enterprising football which England are not doing at the moment. I also said I dont particularly like Argentina but because they are playing excellent football, they dserve it more than England at present. So, Think before you reply with your usual inaccurate crap, sonny. Oh, and by the way, generally two crap games in a row in a WC group stage generaly gets you knocked out. For once, wake up and smell the roses.
  23. SDo, you actually agree with me then? Why the comment regarding my assessment? Or are you just provoking another row? By the way, still fighting for your country, are you? That's the 8th time you've asked me that, nobody finds it funny. At least I have a country. What I was originally referring to is this: This coming from someone born English, man. You and all associated with you should be f***ing ashamed. Point 1..............................If you consistently harass me with your ridiculous comments, I am going to throw back in your face, your silly comments about fighting for your country, just because I am an ex pat. Not trying to be funny, sonny.................just letting you know how stupid you sounded. Point 2.....................you have already aghreed England are playing crap, havent you? Does that mean you are happy to see a crap side win the world cup? I would rather see a team playing enterprising, attacking football deservedly winning games, not teams fortunate to win games. I want to see England do well. But not playing this inane rubbish they are providing at present. As much as I hate to say it, Argentina are setting the standard at present and fully deserve to be the best looking team the tournament at the moment. I actually wouldnt mind seeing them win it because of the way they are playing and I hate Maradona with a passion. Algeria were the much better side last night and even they deserved to go through ahead on that performance. I am more of a football supporter than anything else and when I see all these so called superstars acting like prima donnas extaling their brilliance without actually performing, I am happy to see them shot down in flames, whether they be English, Australian, Argentinian, German or Outer Mongolian. And before you reply to this, think first. Dont be so childish to condemn my patronage just because I live in another country. There are thousands like me. It doesnt make us any less English than you. We are probably a lot more realistic than you because we look at the bigger picture and not through rose tinted glasses.
  24. I dont lioke their attitude but I would have liked to see them perform on the big stage, for a change. Capello has to change his tactics against Slovenia and use the wings more, getting in early crosses because Slovenia, judging by the performance of USA against them, are susceptibe down the flanks, particularly the right. We need to see Joe Cole playing as he sems the only one capable of opening up defences. Lampard has been crap for years in an England shirt and should never have been selected in the first place. Play Crouch and Defoe up front, Rooney just in behind and Joe Cole patroling the midfield, getting Lennon in down the right. England might just sneak it then. But to keep playing Lampard and Heskey is suicidal. I hope England do make the final but I cannot see them getting any further than the next round on curent performances. Lets not forget, they were not particu;arly impressive against Mexico and Japan in the lead up to the cup either. I am afraid England is now more a team of HOPE than glory.
