I surgest we prechase someone! That's the whole point, if we have to rely on Shola as a first choice striker we're going to struggle to realise our potential. i agree we do need to buy someone , i dont think roeder wants him as a first team stricker , btu were not going to get anyone in who will gell in enough time for the wigan game, untill we have better we should be behind him 100% Everyone is behind every Newcastle player once they run onto that pitch. 52,000 of us go every other week to support them. They can't ask for us to get behind them anymore than we already do. He's been around since 2000/2001. It's his fault he gets the stick he does. Theres nothing more we would like than him to be our 25 goal a season striker, but it just isnt gonna happen. Nobody should even think about blaming Ameobi being poor 95% of the time on us not getting behind him because that is just total nonsense.

We've got 2 weeks to bring in some new faces. Saying "who do you suggest we play" is the sort of attitude which gets you nowhere. A bit like why we've won fuck all for years.

if he scored 20 goals this season will you be complaining? He hasnt reached that feat in a single season in all his time at Newcastle, so what gives you the confidence that he will? A few pre-season goals? Some people believe the shit what comes out of Shola's mouth every few months. He's a couple of year away from what should be a peak age for a striker and he hasn't even showed enough consistency to be a good Premiership striker, nevermind a great one.

It looks like he could be on his way with him not even coming on the other day. I would only be in favour of selling him if we are bringing 2 strikers in.

Have to compare them I'm afraid. When Souness signed him he said, " we now have a proper player for the left ". On the basis of that comment I believe I'm justified in believing he was signed to replace Robert, so the comparison is valid imo. But Souness is well gone now. Luque has shown what a good player he can be in Spain, so saying he is shite isn't true. If Souness said brought Emre in as a replacement for Bernard, would you still class Emre as a left back? Souness didn't have a clue. There's no point in judging our players on what Souness said or done with them.

We paid over the odds for Luque but he is not a shit player. It just hasnt worked out. Shouldn't compare him to Robert. Robert was a totally different type of player to Luque.

Well you wouldn't expect him to say anything else really though would you? Obviously the aim should be to win all of our remaining games. I think we will win them all with the exception of maybe a point against the smoggies, and maybe a point against Chelsea although we should really be expecting to win any home game no matter who its against. We won't get into Europe, but it would be more worrying if he came out and said there's no chance fo us getting into Europe. There's 18 points to play for. If we got them all that would put us on 60 points. There is only 3 teams who have more than 60 points in the Premiership. Obviously we havent got a hope in hell of finishing 4th, and we won't win all our games, but looking at the fixtures on paper we should be capable of getting 15 points if we played to our potential. If Bolton slip up in the games in hand there's a chance we could finish 7th, but if not then we have a chance of finishing 8th. How many UEFA Cup places is there this season?
