Carr was in contention tonight, so there's a fair chance he could be ready for the weekend. Not that i want to see the fat useless twat play for us ever again.

Not gonna get carried away, but i thought he was very solid tonight. He was disciplined, as neat as always, and knew when to get foward and when to stop back. Anyone think we should keep him there at the weekend? I see no reason why not.

N'Zogbia needs to play on the left for a run of games now. All he needs is a goal to get his confidence back. Nobby was very solid, Bramble was his mixed bag once again with his silly mistake but solid otherwise, Taylor had a good game, Milner was very good, and Emre had quite a good game. Sibierski was superb until he tired towards the end. Some excellent touches. Parker and Martins played there part as well. Martins got the ball and ran at the defence a few times, Parker kept it simple and won the corner which led to the goal.

Lets not go near Shearer for at least 5-7 years.

I don't think i've heard one player refer to him as "the manager". Everytime you hear them in the press they always refer to him as Glenn.

I know this is in the wrong section but i need a quick answer cos i need to give it to my mate in a minute. I havent applied for an away ticket for a while now so i can't remember how ti fill the cheque in, because it says that the prices aren't yet confirmed so i have to send a blank cheque in. So would that mean just sending in a cheque with absolutely nothing but a signature and date on it, or would i have to write make payable to Newcastle United on it? Cheers for any help.

I was a big fan of Batty when he was here. He was quality in them middle with Rob Lee. I'd be interested to see how Batty would do in todays team though, and i'd also be interested to see how Parker would have done in the Keegan team alongside Rob Lee. I'm a massive fan of Parker as well so i'm not gonna really argue about it. I think if they Parker had been in that team, and Batty was in this team a lot of opinions might be very different.

Didn't Hamann score a great goal against them before as well?

I seem to remember Beardsley scoring a cracker past them in 1994/1994 i think from a canny way out. Could be wrong but i think it was.

If injuries do not count then the best defender in the country Woodgate walks into that team.

We all know great players don't always make good managers/coaches. Them lot potentially could be great, but Newcastle is far too big of a job for unexperienced people to come in and take over. Even Shearer.

I'd say Given, Harper, Taylor, Solano, Parker, Duff, N'Zogbia and Owen would definitely get in the squad. Maybe Emre. No point even counting Dyer. As for the team i think Given, Parker and Solano. Maybe Taylor. I don't know about you lot but if i had the choice between Shearer, Sir Les and Owen, it would be Shearer and Sir Les every time. Solano can't even get in our team now so why would he get in KK's team? He's not been playing well but neither have many players. Its not looking great for Nobby, i don't know weather he's past it, or he's suffering from playing under poor managers, but i just thought of Nobby at his best. Nobby or Gillespie?

I just can't think of anyone who would want to risk their reputation by taking on this job. Can't blame Roeder for taking it really. He would have enjoyed his time in charge last season, and he got a lot of support of the fans. He had a job for life with the academy though. Anyone think Curbishley is worth trying? I know a lot of people will probably want a bigger name, but we simply aren't a huge attraction with the fat man in charge. Curbishley would definitely steady the ship and with some money he might even go on big things. Whoever the next manager is i hope he realizes how important of a player N'Zogbia is.
