  1. If him and Taylor reach their full potential and we manage to keep them then we have got potentially two future top Premiership stars. I'm hoping the 2nd half on Sunday was the turning point for N'Zogbia, and also the last few games are a sign of things to come from Taylor now.
  2. Has he only just moved there not long ago? For a few seasons he sat near me in the Leazes upper tier. I was wondering where he buggered off to.

    Moore quit

I doubt we'll go for Zat Knight. When we bid for him in the summer it was a last minute panic bid because we failed to get Woodgate and Huth. Hopefully with a bit of time on our hands we will go for a better defender.
  4. I DIDN'T FUCKING GET ONE. I thought it was gonna be one of those days on Sunday. Woke up late with a hangover so i didn't have time to go on the drink. Got to the metro station an hour before kick off, and the useless metro's were delayed so i was waiting until 1 o clock for the metro. Missed the first couple of minutes of the match, and there was no scarfs left. I've got my scarf from Shearer's testimonial so i'm ok. Would have been nice to get the different ones they were giving out on Sunday though.
  5. Wasn't sure which forum to post this in, so feel free to move it. I was just wondering if anyone knew anywhere in town that sells the picture of O'Brien celebrating before the ball had even hit the back of the new against the mackems? Want it for me wall. Its a long shot, but cheers for any help.
  6. As good a player he is, i think its time we started spending money on players for actual positions we're desperate in, rather than spending half of our budget on any big name available like we usually do.
  7. True, but it's obvious that some people aren't looking at performances, they have their favourite(s) and want them in the team no matter what the evidence. I don't know anyone who despises Parker, tbh. The reason Parker became my favourite was because of his performances though. I don't think we would have done any better in the Premiership if Butt had been in the team instead of Parker. Our problem has been scoring goals, and Butt wouldn't have made that change. Our problem has been our lack of firepower up front, and i fail to see how people don't recognise that. Parker will get you more goals than Butt and Emre put together in a season if he is playing in the role he has played where he is making runs into the box. And anyone can bump this thread at the end of the season if they want. If Parker, Emre and Butt continue to play the amount of games they are playing at the minute, then i bet he scores more goals than both of them. Emre looks great on the eye, but he is never gonna score goals, and he doesn't seem to contribute much else. Parker definitely has a few more goals in him, and if he had someone like Kevin Nolan alongside him then i think everyone would see what a good player he really is.

    Nicky Butt

Let him go IF we have have a replacement lined up. He's certainly not good enough to be a regular starter. People say him and Emre give us a better balance, but thats no reason to keep Butt come January. We should be looking for a better midfielder to go into that team. He's not good enough really. He can do a job for now, but if we get offered money for him, plus get his reported £40,000 of the wage bill, then i think we would be better of getting a midfielder in who actually has something about him. He couldn't lace Parker's boots either tbh. Its funny how Parker seems to take all of the blame for the lack of balance in midfield, but Emre gets none of it. Butt and Emre may be better balanced, but come January we would be a lot better finding an ideal partner for Parker than keeping Butt in there alongside Emre.
  9. Some people quite clearly despise him though. You don't have to be a kid to have your favourites. I certainly never regarded Dyer in the way i regarded Shearer.
  10. Notice he dosen't say anything about Butt's shite passing. I was actually gonna say how awful Butt's passing is. Its woeful at best. With Parker i think you either love him or hate him. The people who hate him will not give him any credit whatsoever. When he has a great game, and MacDoland has no chance of saying anything bad about him, he will keep his mouth shut rather than give him credit. He was fucking loving it when Parker had that incident with a few fans the other week. Personally Parker is my favourite player and i think he is superb. I'm can't be arsed with an argument about it, because these debates come up all of the time but he is definitely my favourite player. I think 95% of toon fans love him.

    All-time...

--------------------------------Schemichel------------------------------------ G.Neville-------------Adams----------Terry-----------------Pearce Beckham-----------Keane------------Scholes-------------Giggs -----------------------Shearer---------Henry---------------------- So many great players miss out on that team. Toon: ---------------------------------Given-------------------------------- Venison---------Woodgate-------Albert---------------Beresford Solano-----------Lee------------Beardsley--------------Ginola --------------------Shearer------Sir Les------------------------
  12. Parkers passing is not "bad". Its average. We haven't really got many players with a good range of passing. Solano is obviously the pick of the bunch, and Emre has the ability as well although he sometimes plays careless passes. I remember the days when we we had Rob Lee and Beardsley who could play a 50 yard pin point pass without even looking.
  13. It would be a LOT quicker listing any good games he has EVER had for Newcastle. I'm not being harsh there. Even when we have played well as a team since he's been here, 99% of the time its been DESPITE Carr.
  14. I agree with that, man for man.
  15. For the person who mentioned N'Zogbia having a nightmare, surely it would be better to stick with him rather than chuck him back on the bench. Its getting dropped for Duff what has fucked his confidence. Its not gonna do a lot for him if he is on the bench on Sunday with Duff injured. Put him on the left, stick with him, and he will come good.
  16. He got excited because he scored his first goal for us. He loves Newcastle like every one of us do man, you can tell that. Surely it can be excused, its a once in a lifetime thing scoring your first goal for your hometown club.
  17. People are saying Solano can't play right back because he's not physical enough and not good enough in the air. Well nobody is saying he is great in the air, but neither are any of our current right backs, which is the reason he might be our best bet for now. Carr is no sort of right back. Give him the keys for the tractor and he might be some use then.
  18. I said in the first post i wasn't getting carried away with it. The difference is he is disciplined and an EXCELLENT footballer who can cross from deep. Carr is not disciplined and is not a good footballer. Solano isn't ideal at right back but until we get any sort of right back he might be able to do a job there. We could have the chance to find out anyway. You strike me as some sort of Steven Carr fan who wants him in the team but hasn't got an argument to back up the right he has to be in the team.
  19. I was fuckin pissing myself when Taylor scored. That has to be up there with the happiest i've ever seen a player when they've scored a goal. Well done Taylor son
  20. Well if we play Nobby at right back and he has a nightmare, at least we would have tried, and we wouldn't be any worse of than if Carr was there cos we know Carr is gonna have a nightmare anyway.
  21. Carr isn't great? Biggest understatement ever. He is fuckin awful. I'm not trying to be a tit here, but do you go to many matches? He is our worst player nearly every week and he is a liability. He's got absolutely nothing going for him. He's slow and fat. He always gives away stupid free kicks because he can't keep up with his man, and he always points the finger at the younger lads if one of his mitakes cost us.
  22. Carr always loses his aerial battles. The amount of times i've seen him get sucked out of position to challenge for a header, get beat in the air by his man, then his man runs onto the ball and Carr jogs on with his shit man tits.
