  1. Aye, except for when we scored. First half. So, what: we played a poorer team in the second half and scored. Then we're looking good according to this logic.
  2. Can't see what's wrong with the odd pizza, tbh.
  3. The fact is there have been much worse squads than ours which've stayed up. Sometimes for season after season after season.

Agree with Ron, tbh. Guthrie's a bit of a luxury for us, tbh, but there are sides at our level which would cream themselvse at the prospect of having a player like him. When is Gosling due to be fit?
  5. I'm not sure that has anything to do with what I was trying to get over. In that case, I don't understand. Join us, Mick. We can stay up. We can do it, mate. Howay. Be one of us.
  6. Player-for-player our relegation squad was better than a lot of teams that stayed up. Absolutely, so what makes you so confident a lesser squad will stand a better chance of survival..? I believe in Chris Hughton. I believe the squad has more balls than it did before. I certainly believe more in Carroll than I did in Owen.
  7. I used an extreme example and could have used staying up instead of winning the league. Either one would have had the same result, thinking something might happen doesn’t change how you feel when something actually does happen. Whatever actually does happen is what determines how you feel about it. Well, I know exactly how I'll feel when we stay up and I can point the finger at all you negative nellies.
  8. I remember a similar thread one and a half season ago.. Aye. Really, it's a question of faith. No one knows, tbh. The majority of pundits last season were wrong: so you've got to conclude no one fucking knows until December.
  9. Aye, we should get David Villa.

  11. That's like saying we should all think we're going to win the league then at least we'll enjoy the season, even if we go down. Not really, like. Going down would be an absolute disaster: the worst possible outcome. Not winning the league wouldn't be a massive hardship for us at this stage.
  12. I remember a similar thread last season about promotion and a lot thought we'd struggle. Pundits thought we'd finish bottom half or worse. There's 12-14 matches that will be difficult to get much from. The rest are realistic points-gathering missions, imo.
  13. Daft comment, how he fells we'll do will have no bearing on how much he enjoys the season. I also think we’ll be lucky to be playing in the Premiership next season with our current squad. I’ll enjoy winning just as much as anybody else and will give the team just as much support as anybody else. I dunno, like, I'd find it difficult to enjoy the season thinking we're already down. True. Those people who think we'll go down anyway (and who are really convinced we'll go down) shouldn't support the club. Well, I'm not saying that. We have a tradition of gloomy fans. To think the worst is an effective way of protecting yourself from disappointment.

  15. Yes. I think our home form will keep us up.
  16. Are we fuck. Fair enough. Enjoy the season.
  17. Well, fuck all doom-mongers. I'm quite upbeat after that. This season is going to be tough, that is a given for me. I'm nailing my colours to the mast: we're staying up with this squad.
  18. I always thought Perch was basically our bench player in that he's a sub who can (just about) cover 4/5 different positions. The bad thing is beyond Perch we still haven't got a good RB.
  19. Thing is, Nolan was anonymous last season but weighed in with some vital goals.
  20. A fair few positives to take from that for me, at least.
  21. Shola's link-up play hasn't been bad, tbf.
