  1. ahem .......... this is the ENTIRE point What is the point? That we aren't buying players now? If we bring in your ten superstars in summer will you stop bitching? We didn't even buy one superstar LAST summer Keef. Allardyce got the players he wanted, for the most part, imo. If we didn't bring in the right players, it was down to him.

  3. People might be disappointed by the transfer window, but they shouldn't be surprised. Keegan's barely been here five minutes and has yet to assess the strengths of the team, really. Unless people want the board buying players? In addition, Mort himself said that if any players were going to be bought in the winter transfer window they'd be youngsters for the future. Did he not?
  4. Agreed... however I also think that our current young players might be about ready to move on. For likes of Lua Lua and Carrol it is getting towards crunch time. Are they good enough to be with the first team? Is there something there or is it time to ship them out? It might just be a case of re-stocking the youth/reserve team with potential. For what its worth I can imagine Lua Lua pushing for a first team place by the end of the season. Yep, I think that's right. Even Mort's comments last year suggested that he was not impressed with the quality of the current batch of youth players.
  5. Surely the recent changes upstairs would tend to point to the fact that the development of the youth and reserve teams is an entirely separate exercise from the first team? In that case, why would signing these youngsters have any impact on strengthening the first team? I hardly think we're bringing these youngsters in because we're unable to sign 'top' players. These players would've been coming even if we'd manage to bring in Deco, Ronaldinho and Kaka.
  6. Aye, you'd think so until you notice it's actually Michael Bridges who's changed his name by Deed Poll. so you are happy with signing 17 year old kids, where one out of twenty or something will make the premiership, and are confident we will match the top 4 teams under such a policy I will tell you here and now, you can believe all the hype bollocks, cliches or whatever you have done in the past, but you will NEVER match the top 4 teams unless you have players that they themselves want, and sometimes that means paying top dollar for these despicable "trophy" players. If you disagree, I wait for the response when Keegan makes his first decent money signing. I think the transfer policy so far under Ashley has been an absolute disaster. Yes and no. Arsenal haven't got where they are today by buying trophy players, but whether we have the wherewithal to copy their strategy remains to be seen. Regardless, assuming these longer-term signings aren't at the expense of more immediate first-teamers, I have no problem with giving it a crack.

  8. I got a deep-fried 20p coin in my chips from that fucking place once.
  9. Jefferson Farfan, my arse. Probably more like Jefferson Airplane.
  10. Was just going to say the same. Proper footballer's name. Diego Swarfega Mk II? We can only pray.
  11. I'm sorry, but there's no way he'd be getting a game if we weren't in the s***. Expecting to be starting every game in his favourite position is f****** ludicrous for such an average player; he should be grateful he even makes the squad, tbh. Not the point!! I'm not saying he hasnt been poor. He HAS! What I'm saying is that there's a reason he's been shit, and until the whole masquerade calms down (King Kev media bollocks etc.), and we get our heads down and try and stay in this league, that's when we can start to tell the shit from the gold. FFS there are people turning on Zog at the drop of a hat and a McKay/SSN special....when every other post prior to that was about how Zog is our only shining light. Just let the storm settle down, wait for our african players to return....get going for a few games with a settled side, and then piss and moan if players are not performing. He is the one who should keep his mouth shut. He should be honoured to even get the chance to pull on the shirt, cheeky fucker.

  13. Because of this guy, I named my daughter David.
  14. Because of this guy, I lost faith in the human race.
  15. The fact is he has more opportunity to dive than anyone else as he runs at defenders more than any other player.
  16. A few of the comment from fans of other clubs seem to be blaming our new American Owners I heard this on TalkSPORT the other week, can't remember who it was but he said 'how much does Mike Ashley actually know about the game, coming from America?' Pleb.
  17. Jesus Christ! He does way to many static tricks then loses the ball, or always drives for the byline and knocks it out of play or again loses the ball, he needs to forget the foreplay once in a while and just whack it in early..
  18. What the fuck? The fella's on crack. He's lucky he's a getting a fucking game anywhere.
  19. I don't care that much, tbh, but probably. It's a kick in the balls not to give him his 100th cap.
  20. Got any translation for that mate? There is no mention of Newcastle in it so prob worthless You don't think 'Newcastlu United' might be referring to us?
  21. This is just one of many reasons you're not a top-flight football manager.
