When Cisse went to warm up yesterday after Best's injury he went behind the Leazes goal - as they do in the Bundesliga, obviously no one had told him that in England you warm up along the touchline. Shola was despatched from the dug out to go and tell him like a big brother looking after him. Will Shola sign new 20 year contract as International Personnel Relations Manager What about Shola's five minute cameo at the end ? A masterful display of Shearer-esque time running down play.

You've got me up for it Hez, where are you leading us mate and who are we fighting? Don't care I'm in

AS9 in Pont last Sunday, no big deal really considering he lives there. More noteworthy AC9 in the Diamond watching the toon on Wednesday evening.

Aye, probably had a harder calculation than most people. A lot of 2nd division in there, much of it 22+ position. The Leicester away season when we finished 20th definitely impacted. I followed the lifetime average like everyone but really can't compare the club back then and now. For a city and club like ours, considering the stadium, support and foundations we're (hopefully) building I'd say nothing less than a European challenge should be expected or acceptable.

Top guy who loved the club and city and did a great job for us. Good luck to him after moving on, he'll always be welcome round these parts.

After Gardner waving imaginary cards at the ref in the Boro game, yesterday a few of the Sunderland players remonstrating with the ref to send Huth off. They're developing a cheating culture under O'Niell which no one in football wants to see and he needs to stamp it out.

16.16 based on lifetime average formula. 6th for the rest of my life.

Good recent results but not playing particularly impressively and not good to watch. Getting a lot of good fortune and refereeing decisions too. It's given the players belief, although unsurprisingly the half wits who support them are getting a tad carried away. Going to hammer us in the derby, again, obviously. FTM.

Heavily incentivised contract So he should do, as should the players. Sick of people taking huge sums of money out of NUFC for under-achieving here here!

Sunderland could do themselves, struggling Darlington and north-east football in general a big favour. It's becoming a bit of an enbarrassment to the north-east when the nation views the half empty stadiums some of our teams play in. Gateshead will move to a suitably sized stadium which will finally create an atmosphere and Darlington have suffered through the folly of makem safe breaker, mad George Renyolds and the oversize stadium he built. Sunderland and Boro play every game in front of vast empty spaces. So why don't Sunderland move down the road to Darlington's Northern Echo arena ? It wouldn't be like leaving Roker Park which had a century of history and tradition. It's not like their present bland, soulless stadium built on industrial waste land cost much to build. Their fans obsess about attendances and crave a full stadium and atmosphere - they could probably fill the NE arena for some games. Why pay the running costs for a 48,000 seat stadium when it can only be filled twice a year when Newcastle United or Take That provide the attraction ? It certainly wouldn't affect any of their players or staff who traditionally live in Newcastle/Gateshead,Durham or Yarm and probably need their sat-navs switched on to find the SoL anyway. It hasn't had a bad affect on clubs like Brighton or Bolton to move out of town. It would free up Darlo to develop a suitable sized stadium. So come on Sunderland, you must now realise looney Bob's plans to have "one more seat" will never work, you can't fill what you've got unless Newcastle are in town, so think realistically about the future and move into a ready made stadium which is the right size for the club.

It was a difficult opportunity, running that distance with the ball at your feet often leads to players bottling it. Very accomplished finish and a bloody huge relief when it went in, it was probably celebrated as much as any goal we've scored this season.

Desert us in our hour of need?? Got no time for him whatsoever. This, sadly. Loved him while he was here, but he cunted us over good and proper leaving when he did Same. Decent keeper but ocasionally acted the brat and in the end was just another money grabbing bastard who jumped ship. Anyway, he plays for someone else now, good luck to him but not really bothered. Legend? No way.

Some players to leave. Some other players to arrive. Fucking disgraceful if you ask me.
-
Dead right. What any club needs in it's squad. The kid deserves a bit of credit.

There can be no doubt that we would not have won without him tonight. Simply a world class player.

Amazing result and despite carrying players who just don't look up to this league you just have to admire the tenacity they showed to come out with 3 points. We were second best for the most part but the abysmal and home biased refreeing did not help. Hoillet was a disgrace and should be taken to task by the FA for blatant cheating. Mentions for Krul,Simpson,Colo,Guthrie and Perch - who hasn't done much wrong when he's played in CM. Five big players to come back, can't happen soon enough.
-
Just seen their highlights 2 good goals, Sessengon is in form. The stadium looked half empty, considering the number of free tickets they shell out and kids for a quid etc, they must have amongst the lowest receipts in the league. Nile Quinn needs to get himself whoring around the local pubs and clubs again.

Yohan Cabaye (now sporting coordinator at Paris Saint-Germain)

It would also help if the quality and consistency of refereeing in English football wasn't at an all time low and the English FA wasn't bent. -
Their programme cover on Sunday proudly showed a picture of a criminal and vandal who is their club captain, what can we expect from their fans? Scummy club with the most backward followers in football.

The system as it exists is not even a kangaroo court, it randomly seizes on "offences" frivolously selected by unqualified TV pundits with little credibility and is thereafter judged by faceless panels who may well have a vested interest in the outcome. Cabaye's case in particular seemed trivial in comparison to other actions which occured at the weekend, the nature of the challenge on him could be offered as mitigation and he has a reasonable case for claiming self defence. They'll probably just throw him to the lions. -
Oh dearie me, what is Quinn letting the manager do this time.

For anyone who enjoys a modicum of sanity in their viewing BBC red button (channel 301) are doing a deadline day show.

I must be in a minority of one but I still think Davies could do a job. Zenden and Bridge - are they kidding? One has been shown the door six months ago for being past it and the other is a totally focked up mercenary who will be out of Wearside before you can say Asamoah Gyan! Do they employ scouts ? A back four of Bardsley,Brown,O'shyte and Bridge is a mouth watering prospect.

If we can't get the permanent centre half we want an experienced journeyman loan deal would be better than nowt. A bit like when one-size came on loan during the Championship season and filled in well when required.
