  1. After years of paying KD's vast salary while he underwent one kind of treatment or another, it now seems to be common knowledge that the club are willing to let Dyer go. Wouldn't it be wise to try and get something back on the pitch from him in return for our patience and outlay ? Every manager Dyer has worked under considered him as an automatic first choice, England coaches and just a couple of days ago Big Sam also praised his contributions to the team. Are a bunch of sheep brained charvas and nufc.com more qualified to decide what Dyer contributes to a football team ? I think not. Dyer often covers more ground than any other player over 90 mins - lazy little get - don't think so. When Dyer runs at defenders, he has an almost unique ability to take 2 or 3 with him, creating space for his team's forwards rarely offered in the Premiership. He earns a fortune - sure - but finding a replacement will cost at least as much. I say stick with Dyer, lets see what a full season of playing ( ) brings out of him, support him as we should support every player who wears black and white and lets see if he can finally make the prolonged and positive contribution to our cause which we have waited for.
  2. especially not a medicore, injury prone, diseased little skank. The more I read your takes on NUFC, the more I think you are a supporter of a rival club (probably not too far away) who enjoys stirring up anything negative about NUFC. Go back to where you belong please.
  3. Like THEY pulled out of signing Nugent, aye because after inital talks and numerous telephone conversations you realised you were leaving messages on flirt divert. My neighbour was on a flight to Spain just after the Euro Champs (Under 21's) and Stephen Taylor was on the same flight going to Malaga for a week with his mates, Nugent was going to join them out there. On the return flight Taylor, who is a first class bloke who spoke to anyone who spoke to him, told my neighbour that Nugent had to turn his phone off for the full week because Sunderland were calling all the time and he did not want to sign for them!! They could have had James Beattie for £2M, and thereby got one of the established Premier league players they desperately need, but they wouldn't meet his wage demands of £3M p.a. So they got Chopra for £5M and £650K p.a. instead. Despite the blarney nothing much has changed with the new regime and they should pretty much expect the same as last time they came into the big league. Wait until the new season looms next week for a few Keane paper quotes along the lines of "best fans in the world - need to get behind us - make the SoS a fortress" etc etc to appease the poor old misled macums once again.
  4. You must have walked around with your eyes shut yesterday then. There were falling off their buses on Barrack Road pissed up and pissing in the street and puking up at 1.15PM yesterday when i had walk past the ground and a rep that came in here said he'd seen some on Dean Street falling about in the middle of the road trying to retrieve the contents of one of thems overnight bag that had been thrown intot he middle of the road and spilled its contents. Both Glasgow Clubs fans have a much higher percentage of total wankers than any other clubs in Great Britain and treat trips to England for Friendlies like a re-enactment of Bannockburn. Glad to see some pubs had the good sense to ban them last night. a would say your wide a the mark there way rangers, considering we class ourselves as a british club and look forward to goin to england to play teams Would tend to agree, always thought Rangers fans were pretty much like a cross section of any other British clubs fans, ourselves, Liverpool, Spurs whatever, although your numbers are often bigger. Those Celtic people are just something else. It's like the have a huge chip on their shoulder and it manifests itself by trying to shock "the English" with a show of backward uncivilised behaviour.
  5. Why our club has to lower itself to play Celtic and therefore bring those animals into town is beyond me. Perhaps Beardsley and Shearer wanted them to help fill the ground but for the sake of a few grand in takings is it worth it ? The fact they now seem to think they have a loose association with Sundlund with both clubs links to Ireland makes it even more stupid to invite them. Should let them play each other and they could have an Irish "love in". We should keep the pre season friendlies to European clubs. Hated them ever since we went to Parkhead and they were glorying in deaths caused by Irish terrorism to wind us up, now they're using Sundlund connections to try and do the same FFS ! Very sad people. Just a personal view, but when I've visited Glasgow I find Rangers fans much broader minded and nowhere near as obnoxious as the Celtic people. If they never visit our city again that will be too soon for me.
  6. Saw below on macum forum - it's unbelievable how sad those people can be. Was starting to feel a bit sorry for them as the old "blarney duo" embarrassingly fail to recruit any Premiership standard players, but reading such vitriolic drivel will make it quite funny watching them drown next season when they finally realise their 2nd division squad is so out of it's depth in the big league. http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=252531
  7. Although champions last season, Sunderland seemed to scrape through a lot of games by the odd goal or with late winners. That of course is commendable but also implies it was a team that was playing at full stretch and the new management team probably helped to squeeze that little extra on occasions. The year before Reading were comfortably beating every team in the league with plenty to spare. Therein lies the difference. As someone said earlier, the 3 worst teams Sunderland will face in the Permiership will be as good (probably better) than the best 3 they faced last season. They have not strengthened their squad, despite the brave words coming out of the SOL right now. They needed a minimum of 4 quality, established top level players to go with what they had. They have bought none. A season of struggle at best, and another relegation most likely.
  8. Apologies if it's already been said but this has to be the most desperate transfer of all time for both parties if it goes through. I've always said if your a decent player and available you will have options. If you have options you won't be signing for Sunderland. And in Chopra's case if ANY other Premiership club had been interested theres no way he'd be going to Sunderland. Desperation all round !
  9. and you've never slagged the coaching staff You obviously weren't around in the 70s when MacDermott had made his name with Newcastle and then openly stated he wanted to play for Liverpool. When Newcastle tried to hold on to him he actually stopped trying when on the park. Disgraceful behaviour. As was Bellamy feigning injury, going back on a behind closed doors handshake with the chairman and manager to speak to sky live on air and all arranged, to call them liars and thus dragging the club's name through the mud... for the umpteenth time. But still, lets not allow facts to get in the way of a good old rant eh. As for the 100% thing, you make out like that's something Bellamy alone has a monopoly on. The man you're blasting to defend this welsh cretin also gave 100% and and then sum. Also can you explain how exactly Shearer got rid of Bellamy, can you back that absurd and pathetic comment up? Sad. You're the only one ranting, and I'm certainly not blasting Shearer. I just think his comments are inappropriate and somewhat undermine the new manager. Are you a trainee Sun journalist ? Helping Shepherd get rid of SBR and bringing in his mate Souness as replacement certainly helped in Bellamy's exit. Undermine the new manager, how by cracking a few jokes about not signing Bellamy? You're reading into things way too much. For one we aren't and won't be interested in Bellamy so it's a moot point anyway. As for the journalist thing, I could say the same about you with some of your 2+2 = 5 assumptions, i.e. Shearer got rid of Sir Bobby and Bellamy. Very sun like You have to realise that Shearer "cracking a few jokes" (euphemism for sticking the knife in again) is not quite the same as you or I cracking a few jokes. The fact that his remarks are in today's nationals and a lead story on BBC prove that. Shearer is a very smart man and would not be surprised at the reaction his comments provoked.
  10. One thing for sure, if I were Newcastle's new manager I'd have woken up this morning thinking "Oh no he's not still at it is he, am I just the next Newcastle manger who will have to operate under the shadow of Shearer" Hopefully with a new, much more serious businessman in charge we will see an end to his influence within the club.

  12. So Shearer phoned up Sky, set up the cameras and shouted "roll" then? Hadaway in s**** man. You've been anti-Shearer for years now. No he didn't. Shearer is far more subtle than that, and if you don't realise he helped orchestrate Bellamy's departure then you are being a bit naive. Don't know if I am anti-Shearer, but yes I have been critical of him which of course goes very much against the grain round here. Great centre forward - just over stepped his mark - and judging by today's press looks like he STILL is.
  13. and you've never slagged the coaching staff You obviously weren't around in the 70s when MacDermott had made his name with Newcastle and then openly stated he wanted to play for Liverpool. When Newcastle tried to hold on to him he actually stopped trying when on the park. Disgraceful behaviour. Bellamy never gave less than 100% in a black and white shirt and seemed to get along with most people at the club, exception being Shearer who felt his supremacy within SJP threatened by a Bellamy/Kluivert partnership.
  14. Shearer helps get rid of our best player at the time, Bellamy, and then starts a campaign to smear him, which is backed by the highly credible testimonies of Terry MacDermott (who had never met Bellamy), Graeme Souness and errr....Kenneth Shepherd and his dad. No one else at the club has a bad word to say about Bellamy. Shearer then uses his "influence" to bring his mate Michael Owen to the club for a huge fee and a trifling £6M a year salary. Owen duly uses us as a base while he prepares himself for England games while keeping mum about the previously non existant "get out of Tyneside clause" and secretly hoping a "big club" will come along and exercise that clause. Shearer spouts to media about Bellamy thereby undermining the new manager, just as he did a few years back when SBR dared to suggest resting him for a UEFA cup game in Norway. Thanks Alan, but with ambassadors like you we really don't need enemies.
  15. Here's something which is not news. Any decent player looking for a move will probably have options. Any player with options is highly unlikely to sign for Sundlund.
  16. So true. Shearer was the only player who wanted Bellamy out, most others only saying good things about his time at the club. Shearer then claimed to be instrumental in getting his mate Owen to come here for £115 K per week which we must be so thankful for given the commitment and passion he has shown for the club since signing !
  17. The history of world football, and a whole bunch of winner's medals would probably beg to differ. Truth is Shearer could never cope with having anyone around who may be bigger than himself and players and managers were blown away by his dominance in the club. Sadly the net result was we moved backwards during Shearer's "reign" not forwards.
  18. It's this type of behaviour that makes you want to have nothing to do with the professional game at the top level nowadays, be it through buying season tickets, new shirts or television subscriptions. Your money is ultimately going to uncommited mercenary players and even worse their parasite agents, who don't give a toss about either the clubs or fans they make patronising comments to when it's necessary. Football authorities need to really address the situation where these here today - gone tomorrow gangsters rape the game we love, while the people at grassroots who make it all possible struggle to survive from day to day.
  19. Definitely over rated. Looked good in the reserves, has potential but gets lost far too often and will have to eliminate the "rash" moments. Cost us the tie against Alkmaar but Titus was made the scapegoat while the "local lad" got away with it. I'd keep him, but certainly wouldn't let him hold us to ransom. He might make it but my bet is 5 years from now he'll be a decent Championship player.
  20. Allardyce played for Sundlund for a short while but that means nothing. Professional players they often have to play against the team they allegedly support. Even Shearer loved scoring against Newcastle in his Blackburn days. However Phil Brown is a Sundlund fan and even though he's a professional and would do what is necessary for any club who pay his wages, it would seem strange him being at Newcastle. Imagine one of us on here being a Sundlund coach ??
  21. I would be on your side if our manager is Mourinho, SAF, Wenger, or even Allardyce. But what we have is Roeder, this explains everything. Did Roeder make him unabel to control a football, run to the correct positions, or pass with anylike like a pro footballers level of skill?? Was Roeder controlling him remotely? I can't believe there are still fans wanting to suck him off because of a cleverly editted stuff on the web, and a reputation in Spain. How many people who go to the match - and see the movement off the ball, etc, that you DON'T see on telly - actually think he was a good individual footballer, and how many think he stank like Shambles jockstrap? For me - jockstrap. Amazin that a forum which puts asteriks in a word like shit in order not to offend, can allow such strange and offensive behaviour. You should seek help mate. It's never too late.
  22. Yeah, none of it is due to him not being very good at football. yea, man.. tell me who plays good under Roeder Tell me when he's played well for us under anyone. Nobody is trying to argue he has played well for us, it's the fact you deny he's ever been a good footballer that is funny. No, i deny he has ever been for US. I don't pretend to have watched 'every foreign game ever honest'. I've watched him play for US, and he's been s**** for us, consistently. Not bacause of anyone elses fault, but because HE failed to show any individual ability on the few occasions he managed to waddle over and get the ball. He's been s**** for us, and i hope he fucks off and never comes back. Not really mate cos he's hardly ever played at all. Now I could name about 10 who HAVE played and ARE definitely shit. I'll wait to judge Luque until when I see him play regular football.
  23. Sadly, despite supporting his appointment I no longer think Glenn Roeder has the ability to move our club forward and that a more dynamic and charismatic prescence is required. Who next ? We must face reality and realise that the biggest names in football are no longer fighting over the Newcastle job, and anyone who has been unfortunate enough to have watched Bolton over the last few years would probably not want Sam Allardyce at SJP. Maybe Chris Coleman would not get universal support. After all we at Newcastle might be inclined to look down our noses at a Fulham "reject". However being realistic and looking at who's going to be available maybe Coleman would be the best choice. Points for :- He'd be within our budget He generally did a good job at Fulham often in difficult circumstances He knows the Premiership He has wheeled and dealed pretty well under tight financial circumstances Fulham played attractive football The "special one" rates him very highly He is energetic and ambitious Maybe we could think of his time at Fulham as serving his time in management with a smaller club and now he may be ready to take on the job at a "big" club.
