So close.

Bruno dragging us through this game.

Our heading is almost as inconsistent as our crossing. That said I guess it's consistently ends up with the opposition.
-
Miscommunication and indecision nearly cost us there.

Unsurprising yet still surprising how excited I am with the prospect of having him back after several years of hoping he was moved on and replaced in each upcoming window. He hasn't done too much wrong under Howe and has been a great contributor. Still needs replacing but has a future here in the team in the short term and squad for the mid.

Heard financially it was too much of a squeeze for the mackems, plus he was too kuol for Catts.

I watched that one too. Absolutely got me wanting to see him turn his career around. He looks like he is in the best physical shape of his career. Whether the mental state is the same remains to be seen but we love a good redemption story!

Remember chortling in the CL final and then feeling a little bad at the end when he was so distraught and begging the fans for forgiveness. Was the heir to the German goalkeeping throne and rated as one of the best young keepers in the world for the longest time. The previous loans didn't work very well but he has spent a lot of time and effort getting himself back into arguably the best shape of his life and mentally too. Would be an incredible story if Howe could get him back on track. We will likely see him in the cup. Hope he gets a good reception and welcome.

The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Postecoglu told to rack off by Spurs

Would be hilarious if he turned it down. He won't and probably shouldn't. Chelsea is a bit of a gong show though. Seems a bit mad behind the scenes, managers getting churned out by player power and lots of toxic supporters too. I'd expect he would want some pretty big assurances. -

Can see Brighton going for Bielsa. Think that would be a good fit. -
Still shaking my head reading the thread title and believing we got him. Mint. Can't wait to see him with ASM and Bruno back in. Wilson too.

Blaming the fans for being anxious and making the players anxious when he is coming out with quotes about how things aren't all ok at Leicester behind the scenes lol -

They can't afford to sack him. Could see Villa paying for him. Thing with villa, they will likely back Rodgers but will they also find themselves in a similar financial position in a year or two? Both Lampard and Gerrard have probably given themselves a stay of execution this weekend though. Rodgers has hardly not been backed by Leicester.. also it's not like they were gutted by player departures. Just Fofana, who they spent 20m to replace. Schmiechel was replaced and already off and choudhury wasn't a loss. https://www.transfermarkt.us/leicester-city/alletransfers/verein/1003 I can understand Rodgers wanting to improve but they have every window previous. Makes it more crazy they wouldn't at least meet us in the middle for Maddison or sell Tielmans, who they will be lucky to get anything for now in January. -
I get the idea but I don't think that increases the quality of officiating. It will just drive people away from wanting to be an official. It is a ridiculously pressured position where human error is in the greatest focus and scrutiny as it is. VAR was supposed to help. As others have says, I think it's more the rule and guidelines that are the major problems and need rethinking. It is tough all around when there is so much money and public pressure involved with every decision. They need a rethink though, even if it seems they are always chopping and changing the rules. That is part of the problem too.

While our full back depth could be better I think this is the first time we have been able to interchange CB partnerships well for a LONG time. I honestly feel very comfortable with the four CBs we have. Lascelles and Burn were fantastic against Liverpool. Schar and Botman are getting better with each game. With the amount of games we have in a short time it could be invaluable. Another quality LB and RB and this could be our best back 8 in my time as a supporter at least?

England's number one. Simples.

Only just turned 23 too. We have been playing Big Joe Willock Longstaff Haven't we? When Willock Big Joe Longstaff Probably works better for him but maybe not the team.

Newcastle United 0-0 Crystal Palace; post match frustration from p26

Viera trolling. Vieira said: "After looking at the images after the game, I thought that was the right decision from the referee. "Was there a push? No, not at all. I think if there is not a Newcastle player then our goalkeeper will get the ball. That contact of course had a massive impact on the goal. That’s why I believed it was the right decision from the referee." I mean I feel like that with most situations and goals we concede. If there isn't an opposition player there I'm pretty confident Pope will get the ball. -
Murphy or Miggy would have hit the post tbf.

Elliot Anderson (now playing for Nottingham Forest)
toontownman replied to joeyt's topic in Football
The only impact sub we have! He is knocking on the door for sure but he will likely wait a bit longer for a start (cup aside). Bruno should be back next week, ASM too. Hid cameos are getting better and better though. -
The role/position he is in just isnt working Seems like a lovely guy but I do wonder if the amount of instruction, responsibility and detail Howe likely gives him is too much for him. He thrived under Bruce likely because he could do whatever the fuck he wanted and was played mainly in advanced positions. He just doesn't seem to gel in that pocket next to almiron, tripps and schar. He is what we have though until Bruno is back at least. Maybe put him wide and almiron central. He is at his best a bit more advanced though. Really doesn't seem to suit playing from deep and can't break away too much when Schar is pinging balls over him. Wouldn't move Joey from where he is either but maybe that's an option. We know there is a player there but it's not one that fits in our team very well right now.

Pretty confident we will finish top 10 but won't get into Europe, unless we have a sneaky cup run. That was most people's expectations wasn't it? (Even if we hoped for me on the sly) beyond the top 6 all the teams are pretty similar. Palace is one team we will be fighting against for that top 10. We are far better if we get players back and likely a couple more signings in Jan. We will be fine. Arguably liverpool don't come back had Isaks second counted. At worst its a point we should have got but could and should have been 6 more points which would have launched us up the league. We will be just fine. -

We are 5 new upgradge players away from where we want to be. It's a different team without ASM, Bruno and Wilson. Arguably Shelvey too. Never thought I'd say that. -

Depends on the run of play. 1 minute plus 2 extra if we are in possession. 1 plus 9 if palace are on top.
