I don't really get this tbh, CM is a pretty specialist position, I don't think he could play there He's not that good at tackling as well which would be massive requirement for him playing centrally. AM maybe? Spot on that he would work deeper. Also as mentioned 15m is a decent price. I love his work rate and passion. I prefer Townsend though so wouldn't be too dissappinted with the switch out if it happened. Bit like Mitro and mbemba, rafa works with them day in day out. If he thinks somebody works better or they don't work good enough in his system and for what he wants then it's best they go.

Ings of three/four seasons ago would be a direct upgrade on Gayle. 25 appearances in 3 seasons is a worry. Especially when 16 are off the bench. Shouldn't cost lots but would be a gamble imo.

Feel bad for Ritchie. Rafa' s been jilted and moved on but now his ex has turned up available and interested again. Ritchie is the spare wheel and was always just a rebound. Hopefully it's not a case of never go back.

Absolutely abysmal. Players deserve fining for these type of performances. Really thought shelvey could sneak on the plane for the summer obviously not anymore. He like the team gave up the minute we were safe.

Yedlin has been pretty poor most of the season. Doesn't find the space and we don't create it to use his pace in the premiership and he has always been frail defensively. The result wasn't unexpected today while still being unacceptable especially more so in the manner of our performance. Our season ended as soon as we were safe and our decent run ended. Rafa is better off playing the fringe players tbh.
