Stats wise he was the best PL attacking fullback in 21/22 season and second best defensively. He also played LCB at Brighton and won a motm playing there in the CL last year. He had a horror season but I wouldn't put it past Howe and team to turn him back around. Probably a better LB for 30/25m but there is likely still a player in there to be salvaged with a fresh start.

Actually thought Chalobah looked good against us at the end of the season. He isn't a heir to Schar and not a whole lot better than Lascelles imo though. Gallagher would be a good squad addition but we can surely do better. Ignacio rumours firing back up. Guehi too. Although it seems we could get Ignacio for half the price and he can play in either CB role.

To be fair Barnes got 13 goals from 34 performances in the PL this season. 1 assist isn't all that great for a winger though.

Thought the point of the thread was to consolid8 them in here. Not even a Luke Edwards tweet to ber8. Feel pretty defl8ed.

Booked in for a medical tomorrow "apparently".

We take Gosling.. they take Gibson.. we all lose.

But the future.. plan for the future.. Would be classic Chelsea to buy him loan him back and then sell him without him ever wearing a Chelsea shirt.

Chronicle saying LB, CB and wide Forward. Either way I'd be delighted. Don't care who it is but if we get in another defender, midfielder and winger/forward we are looking great. We have time to replace schar. Ideally Lascelles out and someone in during this window that we can ease in over time.

I'd much rather we get Nelson from Arsenal tbh. He has much more alligned attributes to what Howe wants. We can probably to better than both though.
-
You would think so with Gordon there too. Think Barnes can play through the middle too can't he? With ASM I think we missed his peak value. Keeping him in the squad another year probably won't negatively affect his current value and he does offer a bit of versatility as a back up forward. I'd be happy to get Barnes but keep ASM for this year. FFP probably thinks different.

Concerned how Bruno will cope with the attention this sexy fucker will get. Absolutely buzzing with this signing. He seems like an complete game changer. Future captain material. Can't wait to see him alongside Bruno and Joe.
-
He will get lots of minutes either rotating with Trips or at LB. Don't believe Talbert at all. Much more likely Southampton wanting more money than we will pay will be what's holding up or ruling out this move.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-12259307/Newcastle-reignite-Harvey-Barnes-wary-spending-big.html Weird time to bring that out when he is on the verge of signing for West Ham for 30m

Yeah, missing 10 starters. Just isn't the depth behind that yet. The Guatemala game was atrocious. That said it was near +40 with humidity and the game started at 9pm local! Guadeloupe actually have a fairly solid team. A couple of top tier league players and mainly all French expats that play in Ligue 2. Canada should be beating both though. Lots of new players simply not gelling. Ahmed from the whitecaps looks a great find for the program though as does mls rookie Bombito. Canada desperately needs CB's. It's a gong show back there.

Just watch that sucker sign for Liverpool lol

Back in for Ake?

https://www.nufc.co.uk/news/galleries/toon-in-training-newcastle-united-women-return-for-pre-season-training-ahead-of-202324-campaign/ Lasses back in toon. New signing additions imminent.

Guler? He is heading to Barca.

https://www.nufcblog.co.uk/2023/07/01/newcastle-interested-in-england-talent-entering-final-12-months-of-contract-report/ Another random one. I'm only interested as he is likely to end up playing for Canada. Not a first team signing for this year though. He would be loaned out or a reserve striker at best, maybe some minutes in Wilson or isak are injured.

Not worth posting but it's a slow news day. https://www.spurs-web.com/spurs-news/report-newcastle-and-aston-villa-enter-race-for-spurs-centre-back-target/ We were linked last summer weren't we?

Pretty sure it's just agent posturing to get Liverpool to pull their finger out and get the deal done. Likewise Reiss Nelson, more than likely a "pay me a bit more or I'm off" plea. Maybe Arsenal call his bluff.

I'm assuming we are hoping one of Minteh of Kuol will step into the first team squad next year or the season after, so possible age isn't a pre-requiste for anyone else coming in for the wide areas, as long as there is some resale value.
