  1. Nonsense article. But he would be the natural successor to Wilson. Not convinced about the playing across the front three comment or the pressing one either but he probably has the ability to do both. He did excel in the false 9 and AM roles. We simply aren't spending 40-60m on him though with LB, CB, RW needs, for starters, more pressing. Would love it but it is nonsense.
  2. He has got badly lost since then, right mare.
  3. Smart with FFP. We have to capper spending now.
  4. The negotiations for Barnes didn't go the way we expected.
  5. N-O members waiting for the next signing
  6. If we are shopping at Forest to help their FFP I'd rather we went for Morgan Gibbs-White. Brennan is probably more a fit for our needs though.
  7. Getting the Cannes in.
  8. He will be back this evening. Just popped out for a drive.
  9. It's going to be the same with the CPL up here. They talked wanting Pro/rel in the longterm from the leagues inception. We are close to having a division 3 (regional league 1's all across Canada). That will likely naturally grow to more teams building into an east and west division 2. If the CPL keeps adding teams I could see the CPL splitting to a CPL and CPL2. However,When push comes to shove I think the pro/rel talk are empty promises. Owners who bought into the CPL from the start simply won't want their investment potentially getting relegated to lower leagues and losing revenue or fan interest. I think when the time comes they will vote against pro/rel up and down the pyramid. I do think it could work to do it between the CPL and CPL2 though. I don't think there is any danger of markets losing fans if it's just 2 leagues up and down. If it was pro/rel up and down the eventual pyramid, I just don't think it would be sustainable or beneficial. Curious to see how it goes in the States. A soft launch version is the way to go imo.
  10. Reckon we would be pushing for loan to buy with Chiesa (probably most top clubs too). They need the money now though by the sounds of it. Could means he goes for cheaper in a sale.
  11. Slightly unrelated but seeing as we were there with Gordon... if France had won the U21 Euros and we signed their highly rated winger that won player of the tournament for 40m, people would be over the moon. Still seems like a lot of money, rising to 45m with add ons but he looked great in the Euros. More on track with the thread - Saw we got linked to Elye Wahi yesterday for 30-40m. While it looks like just another lazy throw Newcastle in there with the other top clubs (which is nice to get used to now) he does play wide right as well as up top. Definitely one for the future.
  12. It's nonsense. I think we have another 30-40m player even if we sign barnes. Then looking at a couple of cheaper deals or loan to buy. We will spend on a decent LB or CB. Maybe both. Not convinced we don't want another right sided player too.
  13. Watched his interview after the Chelsea game for the first time yesterday. Remember people posting about it at the time but didn't get round to watching. He is surprisingly likeable and well spoken. I've come round to the idea of not getting another striker this summer with Gordon's u21 performances. If we get another wide forward or two that would likely he more useful with Wilson, Isak rotating in the middle and Joelinton, Gordon and ASM all able to fill in there if needed. Must be due a striker to emerge from the reserves before too long.

    Dan Burn

Will surely occupy the Lascelles role if we grab a CB and LB with Jamal moving on. Burn has been a belting signing. I remember the apprehension but he has been a steal at the price and a huge addition to the squad off the pitch as well as on. Well deserved extension.
  15. Older right footed version of Badiashile who we missed out on but wanted. Both decent attacking CB's, decent pace and physical. Still think it's nonsense though but looks like someone we would be into.
  16. Seems like a bit of a no brainer for the squad and future at that price.
  17. He is the new Hargreaves. The impact he could have made for Canada would have been huge. He is likely missing out on two world cups as it is. Maybe 3. Too bad but he made his choice and wasn't smarter for Southgate cynical capping. Fell for it not once but twice!
  18. Title change to "regressing"?
  19. Was pretty happy with the game. Was expecting a thrashing. Dissapointing result give the performance but good for a battle of the B teams. Only difference is that is also Canada's C, D E and F teams. The depth comparison between the two nations is so wide. It's getting better though. Cowell is a beast for the states. Ahmed had a break out tournament for Canada. Lack of any decent CB's is still a huge long term issue for Canada. Rest is looking good though.
  20. It's progress tbh. He has taken a step forward by not "taking a step back and break" from social media.

    Paul Dummett

Absolutley this. Expect him to be that experienced player with Ritchie in the reserves and training with first team. Possible Ritchie makes the PL squad I suppose but Dummett won't unless we have a mare and don't buy a LB or CB.
  22. Bit older than our normal buy but would do the trick.
  23. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/66148370 Miller encouraging Tierney to move on. He is incredible when fit but that is a real concern. I almost feel I would prefer us to go elsewhere. That said, maybe we can get another decent deal. Burn and Targett is decent cover.
  24. Oh yeah. I'm going back to bed. The cricket was too exciting for me first thing in the morning. Lol.
