PL era? For me: He is a step above Nzogbia, step below Dyer but far more likeable than both. Quite a few pegs below Hatem. Not close to being used in the same sentence as Robert or Ginola.

And Ashby on loan to Swansea or elsewhere? Krafth likely kept on as 3rd choice and back up CB? Manquillo off into the sunset...

I guess we could be thinking about switching Tripps to the left too. Not sure its worth breaking his good partnerships with Miggy and Murphy down the right but I guess it's an option.

I'm not saying he will be good for us, he might not, but I think he has the potential to be great here.

Getting a quality LB is everything now. We all want a RW for the billionth season in a row but LB has to come next then hopefully a CB and maybe we can squeeze another RW/CAM in. We can probably get through to January with Miggy/Murphy and even the likes of Gordon/Willock willing in at RW, maybe even Ashby. Depth does seem a bit glaringly weak looking at that list though. CB isn't much different if more than one of Botman/Schar get injured.

Loan him to January and reassess, makes sense. If we bring another CB in i'd keep Lascelles until then. Botman, Schar, New CB, Schar and Lascelles is good until then. I don't think we will get much less for Lascelles in January than we would now but Murphy could get some consistent game time before being 4th/5th CB here. Thats discounting Krafth but who knows when he will be back and what shape he will be in. I refuse to consider Dummett being given a PL squad place.

Think thats harsh. By all accounts he seems well liked He had an awful run of injuries and things just not going right for him. He seems a total confidence player and one that has been totally lacking it for most of his time here. He just looks scared and error prone every time he plays. Needs a run of games which we could never afford him, just to get confidence back and his body used to the rigours of the game. A season loan somewhere is the least he needs. I don't see him turning it around. That said many would have said the same about Joey and I thought the same about Murphy too.

Looks so composed for his age. With Willock, Bruno, Tonali, Longstaff, Joelinton we are very healthy in CM. Anderson and Miley could be excellent emergency depth this year. Then maybe send at least one out in January if we have a chance to bring another DM or AM in. Signs look good we wont necessarily need to bring another CM in though.

Granted we are missing a good handful of players but this is the current squad reality if we have a bad run of luck with injuries. Miley and Anderson look like good depth options and worth keeping to January. Murphy has looked solid since coming on too.
