We've clearly done our homework. Spurs bid up for this lad and it was rejected. A price tag was put on his signature and nobody wanted to cough up for it. We did our homework on how to get him - I'd love to know how, but quite frankly I'm not going to question it. We signed a player who could be fantastic for us to an excellent long-term contract.

No, he does have a really good cross. I always thought the same. He absolutely whips those in. If Sissoko signs, I honestly hope we keep Tiote unless we get a big bid from abroad. How does the ranking status work? Like the criteria for it?

His sheer strength and pace is magnificent. He's quicker, bigger and stronger than most he plays against, but he also has very good technique as well. I used to joke that it was almost unfair to see Yaya Toure just bombing up and down the pitch sort of bossing everything and really wanted a player who could do that for us. Hopefully he signs for us and we've got ourselves that player.
