  1. I'm still clinging to the fact he will stay until summer, we will be safe from relegation and he ends his career with us. I'll be upset with the man who's supposedly our captain who doesn't want to fight, even if it means he helps lead us I safety and then bows out. Thank you and goodbye. But leaving now when we are in this state? Not what a true pro does to his club that pays him handsomely and gives him the armband. If he's upset with those running and managing the club, fine - but don't jump ship on us yet.
  2. If his motives for leaving are sinister and he's practically jumping ship - I'll be fucking gutted. I absolutely love the player, would be a crying shame....lose a ton of respect for him as well.
  3. "SSN: Newcastle Hire Colo's dad. Guess who wins again."
  4. Can put in any contract. Our best bet would be let him go in the summer if thats what he wishes and put in a sign-on fee for any club in the PL or somewhere we would be fussed about and say the club buying him would have to pay X amount to us in compensation. Totally possible - could it happen? Beats me. But thats how I'd look to frame it.
  5. The ups and downs of this thread man.
  6. He needs to start cutting in earlier if I'm honest. He tends to get sussed out easiest when he runs down the left, tries to cut in then gets tackled. His best runs seem to be when he's in a diagonal and there is some overlapping or movement (some...little...) in front of him for him to open up for a shot or pass. He's got a pretty good right foot on him too.
  7. Bitter man who is about to lose his prized player.
  8. As said it would be funny if they were doing it on RTG but to your own fans? Seems completely backwards to me Fair enough the first time it was a bit 'ahhh, you guys !!' but now it's just getting boring and annoying that every link or article quoted I have to wait until enough people have confirmed it's not a 'funny' hoax to take notice of it. I was about to post the same as Tooj. No fucking point in trying to troll eachother man, esp with the current situation we are in.
  9. Future NUFC captain material, iyo? He looks a leader on the pitch. I'd give it to Cabaye if it was up to me - he seems vocal enough, he's of international quality and pedigree...but essentially yes. I'd love to have more "future club captains" in my team than not.
  10. Of all the CBs we've been linked with for quite some time, this is the guy who has topped the list for me. Thankfully, the Spanish channels over here in the US cover the French League so I've watched the players we've been linked with - was massively impressed by him each time. Love that he's the captain of his club as well, assume that he has tremendeous leadership qualities given he's only 23.
  11. Would be interested to see if these meetings mean he signs pre-contract to join a club in the summer, and literally will sit on the bench like his President mentioned.
  12. Aye just step away for the day Ron. I'm doing that myself.
  13. I just worry we drop and we lose a player of his quality. This fucking season has literally drained the optimism I normally have out of me.
  14. Yep, we might be able to striker a deal, Colo sees the season out and then we sell him at a lower price in the summer. f*** that. He sees out the season and we sell him in the summer or he doesn't get sold. Suits all parties and helps us in the short term. No way does he leave until the summer. If thats the case.
  15. Someone who'll stump up the cash on behalf of San Lorenzo presumably. That's what I thought, but who? Erm...Were Ryder and Douglas going to just toss it out like there? Thought talks were to happen and things were still up in air...his tweet makes this sound way more like its decided already.
  16. Ethi would flog Mike Williams in a heartbeat

    Alan Pardew

Far cheaper than relegation will do to us.
  18. Yes. I'll take 17th. Any of us who say Yes to that would also take anything higher too ffs, isn't that blatantly obvious?

    Alan Pardew

He's a rancid manager who I'll fully say has lost it. As it stands today, with the players we have - the only hope of safety is a blinding return by Ben Arfa. He needs replacing.
  20. We have 7 home matches left out of the 15. Of which 3 are Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal...we can't buy a win away from home. I'm stopping right there, thinking more into it is going to drive me nuts.
  21. Hitzfeld campaign, was some hilarious time on these boards
  22. Any manager who could save the rot, keep our top players interested and do his job in training and on the touch-line.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to turn on our own players, but to suggest the one striker we depend upon to fire us to safety missing four big chances in a match we eventually lose against relegation rivals is "not a problem at all" is a bit odd.. Well obviously I'd have rather he scored those chances, but apart from the one he blasted over (that I acknowledged in my post) I don't really see what else he could have done on the others. Header was a magnificent save, contact on the volley was probably too perfect and the cross from Debuchy was smothered well. He didn't score, but it doesn't mean he was poor. Sometimes you've just got to admit that the opposition goalkeeper had a great game. The real problem was how easy he had it in the second half. Spot on Dave
