Seriously, if we somehow signed Sakho too I'd be as shocked as I was when Mapou came through the door. Two top French international CB's who are both 23 years old? Ridiculous. Funny that if Colo goes, you'd consider Saylor the "senior" more experienced player based on age but the poor looney bastard has had a torrid time with injuries. Sakho and Yanga-Mbiwa as our CB partnership for the future? Jesus that would be perfect mix of power, pace, and ball-playing CBs.

Can't really tell someone what they can and can't be proud of man. I'm proud of the financial footing we have gotten ourselves in after years of money being wasted and thrown about and 0 future planning or vision in mind. I'm also a finance person so those type of stupid things to some are things I personally like. I read this as a board doing good business and I see an overall vision taking shape in the form of our scouting and such. Yes, results aren't there but there is a decent vision and some excellent execution in the recruitment department. But fair enough and totally not a problem if the financial position of our club doesn't excite or fill someone with pride, I can totally understand if someone doesn't give a crap about it.

Current ownership would use the fact that we aren't making any money as reason to not spend more. We all know that. This at least gives them comfort that the money they have spent has been made back through ticket sales, commercial, etc. Just my take.

Given our current ownership, if we were constantly in the negative they'd probably tell us how we aren't making enough money and are now unable to spend any cash as they believe in being financially sound and prudent.

Sissoko deeper would make sense for this one to provide some brute force. Would be nice if we could somehow fit a way to have Anita, Sissoko and Cabaye basicaly sitting and packed into the midfield with Marv and Gouffran supporting Cisse.

Anita should start this game, he's got the pace and agility to handle some of City's players.

Nah i'm English just watch a lot of football and have a few French friends from when i went to college a few years back who have taught me a lot. Also helps that Ligue 1 is on ESPN quite a lot these days and the fact we seem to want French players seems as good a reason as any to follow potential signings. In my head at full strength: Lloris Varane Sakho Debuchy Evra Pogba Matuidi Cabaye Hatem Ribery Beznema or Lloris Varane MYM Debuchy Evra Cabaye Sissoko Matuidi Hatem Valbuena Benzema Questions for Mole or anyone better versed in French footie: - Sakho or Mapou? Seems like French Football rates Sakho higher? Looks the more physical beast. - Phasing Evra out - who would be the next in line to start? Clichy? Someone else? - Is Pogba/Matuidi not too overly defensive? Would Sissoko be a better improvement in his engine up and down the pitch? Assuming Matuidi is the best DCM option as you say? So Sissoko and Matuidi? - In Benzema here I'm assuming he's back to his best - Where does Nasri fit into the squad in the future? - Menez, Valbuena, Ribery, Hatem and Nasri all basically are fighting for the 2 wide positions? I'd like to think Hatem on form is no a brainer to start, but I'm massively biased of course.
