You don’t ever replace Fab, just a new young mobile CB who’s decent on the ball is the hope. I think the idea would be Botman continues to develop his ball playing ability and Lewis Hall’s ball playing replaces Trippier’s at some point. The right sided DEF of Trippier and Schars ball playing will eventually be moved to left sided DEF with Botman and Hall..and the right side will be the ball carriers with Tino and the Fab replacement?

While Brighton are really a data driven club with a very good transfer model, they are a club in transition from the manager position…and their sales haven’t gone on to be absolute world beaters at this point. Which I assume would cause some pause on the flip for a buying club. Caciedo been up to? How about Bissouma? I hope Minteh goes on and does something great for his career. Literally an asset profited off of - and while I was really excited about his energy and potential, I care more about keeping the top end gems of the club than this lad.

Unless Shaw magically shows up for the knockouts it was really stupid to take him and then try and shoehorn Trippier at LB. Surely there are passable LB’s who could get a decent job done while maintaining width and balance. Jude may work as a 10 for Real but he’s not a 10 for England. He should be back to playing as a box to box, but attacking 8 role where he’s got far more influence on the game. He doesn’t have Valverde, Kross, etc behind him or Vini and Rodrygo. England either need to have Palmer or Foden as the 10 or abandon that setup and go with 2 8s and a sitting 6.

Just have him do both jobs.

The aggressive attacking styles of Gordon and Palmer are 100% needed in this team from the start.

Good post @leffe186 It’s very “Gerrad and Lampard” right now for England and it’s PAINFULLY obvious to every human being watching the system and the players are not working. Have to say the team ethos is all off. It’s stupid to say there’s a lack of passion at times as it’s an overused excuse but there’s not many who seem to outwardly give a shit. I’m sure it’s different in the dressing room but they look like zombies, media trained zombies.

Most of englands best players play a pressing/counter pressing style of football and are really good at transitions and countering. The complete ignorance by Southgate to not even try and get the best out of that is a joke.
