Whether PIF decide to terminate the PCP management contract or not is up to them and they can do it for whatever reason they want - but they literally sign off on every single decision here of any major consequence. It’s just as much on them as it is the rest of the board of directors. I suspect the day we get a ceo and sporting director the less you’ll see of Amanda making day to day decisions. And I’m sure she’d rather it be that way too.

I don’t want to keep saying this but the Rafa approach worked on those guys at that specific time only and we had a far younger squad overall. We also had a better center midfield too. Not sure how many of you manage people but you’re never going to get a response from low on confidence people by berating them in public to further dent their confidence. It’s well documented he handles matters like these behind closed doors where they should happen.

The lack of consistent performances from the players has more to do with the lack of quality and mentality of these players and their lack of ability, lack of tactical awareness, lack of confidence. If you turn all of that around you get consistency. Top players are consistent. Ours are not top players. They sway between good, OK, sometimes brilliant.

We need to replace him. His injuries and confidence look to have ruined him. At this point we might as well play an academy keeper.

Even when Kenedy came back he had a handful of games where he looked OK until that missed penalty miss and his entire confidence fell off a cliff. This doesn’t even remotely look like the same footballer - his gut busting runs, his quick 1-2s, his late runs into the box, his pressing. Literally looks hurt and shot.

People here have similar reactions to society today on anything and everything - it’s either pure joy or pure depression and complaining. There is no balance. The players are also to blame: sloppy, lacked focused, didn’t stay onside, didn’t execute the original game plan and lost to a lower league side. What is absolutely certain is we need players and we need to replace nearly ever single player in the squad in the next 2-3 transfer windows. Now whether Howe is the man to take us on past this one and the next one rests solely on how or if he and this squad performs.
