NFL’s model seems to work for the US where there are Amazon, Fox, CBS and ESPN sharing the general TV rights love with NFL itself selling “Sunday Ticket” where you can watch every Sunday 1 or 4p match and then an additional channel of Red Zone coverage that jumps all over the place to keep people interested without having to watch full matches. You could easily share the rights amongst your usual groups and PL could pump out (via their world feed they operate anyway) a package that allows people to see their favorite club or follow whatever they want. I am convinced there are enough people out there who will go see see live football of their favorite club no matter what is on TV

I don’t know why, but i seem to recall being shit scared of that match and worried that Best playing meant we were going to be turbo. We were ruthless that day and i thought his finishes were absolutely class.

I’m all fine for a new ground but needs to be basically immediately adjacent to the current one or the club owners will have hurt the city and the fans badly. having said all that, I have serious doubts over how big the commercial income really gets given the dearth in cost of living between south and north and the ability to feasibly charge more for tickets across the board and the # commercial and corp business clients between the two regions. always seems to me as a long time outsider and talking to fans abroad or as close as the south of England that the draw always seems to be SJP + The fans. Maybe it’s as simple as new stadium + same fans but I can’t help but think the pride in the home fuels the atmosphere.

Remake that kit, place the 3 stripes on the shoulder if need be for current branding guidelines; give me stripes on back with red #'s for the PL; then block white or black for Europe. plain black shorts, plain black socks with white alts for both. Id legitimately acquire the full kit.

I think the club and club ownership are far smarter than to ever consider it in the outskirts, it would have some a negative impact on matchday/weekend revenues for the businesses in the area that it would really be a horrendous outcome for all. Nobody will win in that.

I am going to keep up my 1-2x a season trip up to the Toon to enjoy SJP while I can. It's days seem numbered.
