I get all the reasons we will be a better footballing side with Hall / Livra at left back but it’s ok to accept and enjoy that our local boy puts in 7-8 / 10 nearly every match — if he’s not your cup of tea in general play he’s a collosus in box defending, corner and set piece defending, key big time interceptions or tackles, every aerial duel in defense or attack and keeps things moving. Replace Elanga with Wissa or Gordon on the 2-3 headers won in second half and we have a player thru on goal. As all players you have to accept they aren’t perfect robots and it’s simple as fuck that Big Dan Burn is a fantastic all around player. Absolute bargain of the century.

I disagree about Bruno needing a rest, I actually think he’s one of those that needs to get into the rhythm of a high volume of games and he then just churns out his 7-8 out of 10s. He thrives in that. He’s been playing a lot of football and he’s been our talisman in every sense of the word.

Having read that article on the athletic about his goalscoring + thinking back to his goals for us, i think there's a major shout at him shifting from the right sided 8 to the left sided 8. 1) his goals scored often are him opening up and shooting with his right foot near or far post 2) threading balls thru for Gordon and combining with Sven, Hall/Tino, Gordon/Barnes, Woltemade Then you move Tonali as a right sided 8 and allow him to be his all-action Italy national team self; playing a lot of first time balls in space and combining with Thiaw, Trips/Tino, Elanga/Murphy/Barnes. I think those players would benefit from the instinctive stuff from Sandro. Sandro also combining with Woltemade / Wissa and gets him further up the pitch to use that wand of a right foot of his. Also if Trips is playing, you have Sandro's recovery speed and reading of the game to mop up there. This also assumes Miley plays the 6 role. I think Ramsey and Joelinton can come in and we can shift Sandro/Bruno around of course.

I don’t see Wissa and Isak as apples to apples imho. While Wissa did go on strike to an extent he did show up and train and would have reintegrated had the move fallen apart. He also lost Mbuemo, Norgard and his manager this past summer and the club were in transition. Isak’s was far different and far worse.

Wissa's one and only chance to potentially play CL at his age is far more justifiable after his manager left, his clear and obvious agremeent with his club to leave, and everyhing he said he after he left >>>>>> over Isak and his conduct.
