I cant wait for "only wanted Newcastle" from our boy. @The College Dropout is spot on re: Anderson. He's a physical monster, press resistant, knows 100% the tactical plan and got away for 2+ seasons playing first team football to mature his footballing ability and skillset - he's a full England international and should be on the plane to USA for the World Cup. Yes he will cost a fortune but I would argue he could play the 6 role and push Tonali into an 8, play left sided 8, play in a double pivot and is probably a very good eventual succesor to JL/Bruno. Aggressive forward progressive passer and great ball carrying.
-
Anderson - Tonali - Bruno would be a brilliant 3.
-
Sancet and Antonio Nusa for me.

If this ends up being the cause for accelerating Woltemade's adaptation to PL football then maybe it's a blessing in disguise / one we can take some positives from (provided we pick up results untel Wissa is back). Gutted for Wissa as this was the move he was pinning for to play up here under Eddie and for us.

glad the Feyenoord player didn't get sent off, would have been massive crock of shit.
-
we'd piss the europa league
-
another encroachment, new kicker took it, saved again. hahahahahahhahaha
-
Another shitty penalty - same kicker.
-
was a shocking roma penalty, cunt is lucky about encroachment call

Personally, I'd play Miley for Joelinton and Hall for Burn, keep the rest of the team that started last night. Although we may need Joelinton's physicality v Forest's midfield.
-
I sometimes wonder if our future is actually finding an elite 6 and moving Sandro to an all action box to box again now that he's fully up to speed with Howe's tactics. When Bruno comes off, Tonali gets in Italy mode where he's just a complete machine at both ends of the pitch.

Nobody is getting a rest, we're playing our strongest team Sunday. they can 'rest' on international break.
-
I thought he was frustrating a bit in the first half; just felt he never took the space afforded to him by their fullback and was sloppy with the ball in our end or when he had it in the attacking third, but he continued to grow into it and thought he was really showing his worth and quality as the match went on. I said this in the match thread, i felt like he sometimes should be ready to burst forward in a diagonal run where he's taking his first touch towards goal (see peak Pedro for Barca or Chelsea) as his pace is lightning and he either gets a pop at goal / cross to be buried in or he's creating space for an overlapping fullback. If he's getting it wide he just needs to be decisive and run at his fullback; ain't a fullback int he league capable of keeping up with his pace and energy.

its as if nobody here ever learns. If Eddie obsesses over signing a player, and/or eventually gives his stamp of approval and the player is here, trust the man.
-
I’ve always felt that he does better when he is in a high volume of matches and has repetitive time on the pitch, allowing him to find his groove. when he has a break, I feel like he drops off a level.
-
If only Hall could be a Tino inverted fullback on occasion too

The all white home kit alternative would be a perfect away kit - would love if we just had a club policy of always trying to wear the black and white shirt with white shorts and socks if our usual look clashes. I know, I know, kit manufacturers and kit sales goals would never go for it but just properly love us wearing the all white.
-
all white kit hits different in CL.

It’s pretty irrelevant already, the points gained probably already justified why we spent whatever we did. He’s slotted in faster than any CB I’ve seen and already looks comfortable with the role and expectations. Hes a good ball player but my favorite thing is his speed of thought - very quick to get play moving.
-
just seems conveniently the same narrative we heard all summer, larger offers but selling clubs who need money selling for less so their player gets their “only wanted the other club” nonsense.
-
Be incredible to get 3 points at home. Great way to leave for the international break on a really high note.

got better and better as the game gone on too
