We absolutely need to go back to the 4-4-2 diamond with Wilson or Joelinton (the backup) playing one striker position. Maxi or Fraser the other (Fraser the backup) and Almiron as the 10. Willock and Longstaff as the other. Hayden or another DCM as the holding player. Manquillo and Lewis as the fullbacks and Fede/Lascelles and Schar as the CB.

We should be going back to the diamond formation and wide strikers that we used when Graeme Jones came in. We only abandoned it when Wilson got hurt and we had to change it up. Again if you guys read the athletic article it talks about how he’s not been able to turn or release the ball as fast as he did pre injury. He was able to do a split squat for 2+ years. His injury has impacted him, and he’s not a player who seemingly can rise above the coaching and play his game. I’m sure the contract issues also are impacting his head, etc. id rather we retained our local talent via a contract extension and loan out or even better, sacking the shite manager but alas that’s not happening.

We should have gone after getting Willems on a free, moving Ritchie on; and brought back Lazaro to play the wing back role on the right if we continue to just re-hash the same players.
