No, but he’d probably still be our best player now. Probably similar in ability to ASM actually. Lua Lua was pretty good. At times unplayable, but obviously wasn’t consistent to be a starter. I liked how he was very much a pace and wtf is he going to do next player to do a lot of the running for Shearer when Bellamy was hurt. End of day he did contribute goals and assists and was on the pitch for some class matches.

The 3-5-2 could make sense if you have Lejeune and Schar playing next to Lascelles playing the ball out the back and hitting the wingbacks deep. Perhaps instead of a central 3 you have 2 holding players sitting in front of the back 3, and 1 gets forward and 1 purely sits. You can then have Miggy playing as a legit #10 advanced role. The 2 strikers then are ASM and 1 of Gayle/Jo/Carroll. Mutu coming off the bench to change things up. The 2 holding players should be Hayden and 1 of Benteleb/Shelvey/Longstaff/Longstaff.

If you're changing the system, I'm going with: Dubravka Hayden Lascelles Lejeune Rose Schar Matty Miggy Lazaro/Jo ASM Gayle/Carroll or Dubravka Schar Lascelles Lejeune Lazaro/Yed Rose/Ritchie Hayden Muto/Jo Miggy ASM Gayle/Carroll the second lineup assumes 3 CBs (2 ball players), 2 wingbacks, 1 holding CM, 2 wide forwards, Miggy as a #10 and a pure on striker.

Goodness. YES, it is obvious Mike Ashley and his cronies Charnley, Barnes, and Bishop who carry out his orders are the main reason we are 13 years of this mess. BUT, Steve Bruce took over from of Europe’s greatest managers and he hasn’t improved a single thing, player development, team performance has regressed alarmingly fast - he can only blame himself and he deserves absolute abuse for being what he truly is - a poor football manager and unfit to manage in the PL and his “hometown club”. Allowing him any bit of grace is a defeatist cop out of the highest order. AND, the players who are not performing are also not blameless in this. These are highly paid professional football players who are lacking in commitment and execution - mistakes, lapses in judgment etc. There’s only a handful who are immune to this and it’s prob Dubvraka and 1-3 more. The entire setup is a shambles and everyone deserves blame. It’s about time the fans and press fucking hold every single one of these associated with NUFC to task.

If there are any supporters of this club who actually believe this team has improved under Bruce in any area, they likely don’t understand football. If any journalist or talking head, heck, former players etc. who actually believe and will willingly write a story that says Steve Bruce will finally improve this team with time or deserves additional time to turn things around they Also have serious mental issues. He will never get us performing an eight game unbeaten run again under his tenure this season or next season or ever how long he is our manager. He has peaked and it wasn’t even a peak at all.

Seems the only logical reason given he’s our best fit midfielder next to Hayden
