I was extremely harsh but still stand by my overall view. Glad he's back and hopefully he can play we need him.

Comparing real life to footballer's life always produces lovely examples and isn't pointless at all. Pata man, you know I respect you for your NFL love...but give me a fucking breaking dude. Its not pointless at all, read it for what it is. Its absolutely absurd that people justify Colo's actions b/c they rate him and he did so well for us in the past. He's been poor this season, he's our captain and he's off to Argentina the week of the derby. I just can't stand for that. Its not an over the top reaction what so ever, you have a duty to your club and fellow teammates when you are the captain of the club. It further proves he's not the one for the role, esp. all the press talk about is how he's the glue that holds everyone together...so if he is, why the hell is he leaving? We don't know what's going on internally, I'll accept that, but public perception is a hell of an influencer, and he's not here for the most important fixture to most supporters of this club. That speaks volumes man.

Would love to go AWOL on work and just hang out with my family in Tampa. FFS, I deserve that right? For the commitment I give to the company that pays me. They owe me, I mean, I come in to work everyday and work hard. I should absolutely be able to go home when I'm feeling that is what I need.

Oakie on the troll again.

Very much my thoughts - was thinking before the sending off that MYM + Willo could actually be pretty good partnership. We need to sign a CB with experience being a vocal leader & organizer, with strength in the air and can handle your Benteke/Lukaku type CFs. But good post Mole, mostly agree with everything you've said there. Think their partnership is actually worth looking into until we sign the right partner for MYM long term.

Our new potential Brazilian owner will help with that ie: Kaka. He's all set to take over the club as majority owner provided we get MLS approval. Brazilian tourism to Orlando is HUGE as well.
-
Sign him to a deal and if he needs to go back out on loan, send him back out?

Cheers Deuce, I'd imagine they'd clean up our badge and then get us a class adidas kit design with our current colors. I'm OK with all of that... My dream is still alive: http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2013/06/19/rumor-central-if-orlando-city-sc-join-mls-2015-head-coach-adrian-heath-says-

Wonder what they'll do if any rebrand of logo/kits/colors. Have they done that to any of the other USL to MLS teams? Adidas MLS kits are class, looking forward to that with Orlando on it. I'll be getting some class season tickets as well. Hope they don't touch or modify anything to the Fio style home kits.

Stadium funding passed in Orlando Edit: above. Massive for my city. Really happy about this. Now just need the MLS team officially announced.

The same thing I've been saying.

Surely it's only a token when it's given to someone that clearly isn't a leader? Arsenal are playing well, which makes them a good choice for your point, except that they're that haven't won a thing since Vieira left. I'm not saying it's the be all and end all, because Nolan was a poor midfielder, but a good captain. I just think calling it a token is daft when there are so many examples of captain fantastics. Last statement further harping my point earlier that the idea that people have become so care-free towards a captain must be a byproduct of our crap captains we've had recently (ie Michael Owen). Captains have been pretty essential in nearly every single sport...so suddenly now nobody cares about them? Just odd to me.
-
Sad state of football or this sport that people seem so indifferent to the role of a captain within the club. Maybe that's a byproduct of the poor captain choices we've had bar Kevin Nolan in recent history, but look at nearly every other sport in the world and the role of a captain is very well regarded and talked about. Perhaps that's something that's changed in modern football, or the clubs aren't really putting much importance on it, but as talented and classy Colo is, he's no club captain to me -- and I'm saying this as one of his biggest fans.

It's not like he's sailing there, those airplanes are decent I heard. 10+ hour flight vs. a few hour flight? I don't know if you travel a ton but 10 hour flight vs. a few hours make a hell of a difference man. I know there's difference between a 10 hour flight and a few hour flight (and I've done them both numerous times ) but it's not like he's doing it few times a week. He's there for a while and comes back when he feels better. I just honestly can't see the problem in either him going to Argentina or the time the flight takes to get there. Because he's supposed to be setting an example to the other players regarding their responsibilities to the club, peers and and fans, perhaps? All of which, by the way, have stuck with Coloccini through thick and thin in spite of him trying to cower off home when we needed him most last season. He's been f***ing rubbish so far this season, then he gets an injury and pisses off home before our most important fixture. What sort of captain is that? You keep telling us that he's no leader. Would he really help us against the mackems in the sidelines? His family isn't here and I'm pretty sure the players and other people inside the club can understand it when he goes back to his family when he can't play. He's not the only senior player in the squad. Yes, if he's the club captain he should be sitting on the bench, even if he isn't able to play - showing his support in the dressing room, on the pitch in training, even if its just rest and he's watching, eating meals with the team etc. So on derby day, our captain is going to be in Argentina sending a few texts or phone call? If you're the club captain, you should very well have a duty to be there, your status is elevated for that reason. Its also the club's fault for appointing him captain and not upholding him to responsibilities that are in nearly every other sport in the world.

Isn't a trip back to France a little more reasonable and quicker travel time then heading ALL the way back to Argentina?
-
Our lack of depth exposes us once again...every season there is a new position that we fail to bolster and we somehow are left in a situation like this - only now, its the club captain.
-
Our bloody club captain gone on a walk-about again...
-
Thought it was one match suspension.
-
Is it Colo's body or desire that's lacking? Probably a bit of both?
-
What's the significance or reason for the name "Rangers" in football clubs? I know the obvious meanings of Rangers, but just curious how it find its way into football clubs... I feel like I know this answer but figured I'd ask....

remember now...believe you mentioned this many times before, so apologies on asking again.

Aye, in the first couple of years -- 1892-94 -- we played in red and white. http://historicalkits.co.uk/Newcastle_United/Newcastle_United.htm For people's interest! One of my favourite websites, that. Why did we have those Navy blue shorts for some time? did it have to do with clothing materials at the time or?

Get him for cheaper then what he was bought for? I like that he's young at 23 and has a bit of height to him and is good in the air, right?

Personally, I think our current badge is beautiful. And although I'm not from the city of course, I love that is tied into the city's coat of arms.
