My guesswork here is McClaren and/or staff had a word with Puma and mentioned classic kits. I can see Pardew thinking he was above that type of decision and the rest of the staff being brainless idiots not offering much an opinion.

Dummett is a pretty good 1 v 1 defender when he's around our own box and a winger will try and size him up and beat him. Dummett actually did brilliantly to keep Ibe from crossing many a time. When Ibe broke free from his position and roamed more, it caused us far more problems.

All of my Liverpool supporting mates all kept mentioning that Sissoko was throwing Moreno around like a doll. I then remember why they said that, on the 2nd goal he cut in and Moreno went for a tackle and Sissoko shrugged him off and it looked quite spectacular.

I don't understand people's strong opinions when they don't actually watch the match.

I'd rather he throw. He hit a pretty damn good diagonal kick in the first half that we lost, but I love a keeper who can throw/kick low trajectory with pace to boost counter attacks. Still want a new GK, like.

Colback gets a booking sometime early in the first half and then he has to play less aggressive for the rest of the match...around the 75 minute mark he begins to look like hes about to pick up a second yellow and repeat. That is costly. f*** off with this "Anita doesn't try" bullshit. That's about as stupid and thick of a thing you could say about him. In fact, both Colback and Anita try their bollocks off for 90 minutes, Colback doesn't have any stand-out qualities and is a below average player. Anita is a better player in my departments over Colback but he's still not an ideal DM or CM in the PL for me, and I like the guy a ton. We need two new central midfielders and we got rid of Abeid who was more than capable of holding down the defensive midfield role for his own.

He played very well overall yesterday. Mitrovic wrecks him in every department in terms of hold up play, passing, heading, shielding, etc. What Cisse still has is that box movement that is deadly. Strikers who don't rely on service are usually your world class types who score and create on their own. Unless people somehow want to see Cisse try and create his own goal again and run into 3 defenders and then not pass the ball off then you'll see less goals from him. Feed him based on his movement and he'll get goals. Unfortunately he's either hit or miss and when he's miss, generally his general play is awful. Yesterday he did something different, he got on a good chance (but was called for a foul) that was a classic Cisse style of attempt at goal. He didn't really have much else but his overall play and movement and work ethic was quite good. Funny that you noticed De Jong barking at him all match telling him where to be and such.

Colback has a decent tackle in him now and then - but he makes a fucking idiotic lunge that's unnecessary and gets a booking every other match.
