  1. Sack AP ffs. Disgraceful defending and Krul deserves some stick too for his waffling the fuck about.

    Papiss Cissé

Hopefully we'll not need him to score to win us the game and we'll do the business without needing him, BUT if it comes down to that - I hope he comes off the bench angry as fuck and plays like the Cisse who first joined us - confident as fuck...so yeah, I'm with you man
  3. Which is why you don't put Gouffran out wide, like you just suggested. what's the alternative, put Gouff in the middle and you dont get the finishing. Aye because Remy LW and Ben Arfa RW haven't finished a thing in the last 2 league games. It's the better decision - they have the pace and the trickery to cause problems. Remy and Gouffran will no doubt be interchanging and I'm sure you'll see Gouffran really floating about as he's quite an intelligent player.
  4. I'm really excited for this match now. Lets get at these fuckers (no offense Neil)
  5. Which is why you don't put Gouffran out wide, like you just suggested. This is a match that in theory, Cabaye out, so put in Marv but of course we know he's not up to it. Which is a shame, such talent in that player. I like the lineup, I hope Gouff is played centrally from the off and am perfectly happy with the front 3 interchanging.
  6. A question for the more tactically astute - but if we had a keeper with not as good shot stopping but better distribution -- how drastically would our results change? I seem to feel like it wouldn't do a single thing: 1) we'd possibly let in say, for example, 1 more goal. 2) a keeper's better distribution would lead to more frequent chances to score, so that's a positive, but that still doesn't guarantee we'll be a better team. Right?
  7. Every team I support tends to have this "we COULD be..." and generally all have some sort of bad/negative press connotation be it the owners, coach/manager, fans, etc. Its sort of fitting. I'm sure you could do a study on people's personalities based on the sport teams they support (and more so on folks like myself who are not Geordies yet have done enough reading, research, and following as much as humanly possible these days...). Not a day goes by I don't check these boards, read articles, check the twitter feed(s).... the days are ruined when we lose, and the days are pure joy when we win - this club is on the exact same level as my Tampa Bay Buccaneers (home town NFL team) and It'll always be this way for me. I guess to a greater extent this board, N-O, probably is the main contributing factor as to why I love this club so much -- people ask why NUFC, I can tell them millions of reasons...players past and present, certain results, certain performances or goals - but can't ever really explain how awesome this board is and how great it is to have it when you are all the way in Florida supporting this team every single day.
  8. Wow, I didn't even remember posting this. Me, negative? Ridiculous - I must have been on some weird mood then, I'm incredibly f***ing positive I've said it before and I'll say it again - as much as I want him to be scoring for fun in the World Cup - he only means something to me when he's wearing the USA shirt. Other than that, he's just another Mackem player I despise. If I'm speaking selfishly (and totally hypothetically), I'd love for him to put in 20 goals for Sunderland, with Sunderland losing every single one of those matches and for him to have a mare or not even play against us. That's me sorted, he'll get a move elsewhere, he'll be in good form for the national setup and Sunderland will still lose.
  9. milesstarforth: Remy & Ben Arfa to return to #nufc starting XI at Goodison Park, where #efc haven't conceded in PL since March. #sgaz http://t.co/UT4vf3QpPR
  10. I think people exaggerate how easy it is to not be playing and suddenly come into a game and 'take your chance' Situations like Leeds he should be running the show or putting 2-3 killer passes that we all go mad about that weren't finished or were finished into the back of the net. Cabaye can't run onto any advanced passes into space as he's not quick enough nor does he have a good enough touch or dribbling ability to create a bit of space and get a pass or shot off.
  11. So he can't sign until Jan? Right? If we go back in for him?
  12. Fair enough on the free role suggestion. The real reason for the post is that Sylv has all the tools to be the ACM for us every week and it's a shame he doesn't grab his chances b/c he's an excellent talent.
  13. Immensely talented player that should see more pitch time -- if that mean he plays at the tip of a 3 man midfield when Cabaye is hurt/out, I'm all for it. If we had a manager who had the brain to instill free-role type positions for him and HBA supporting Remy, I'm all for it. I'd honestly love for him to influence matches more and displace Cabaye as I think he's much more suited to an advanced midfield position - he's got a killer pass, excellent dribbling skills and a great left footed strike. Unfortunately he's shown less consistency and is less reliable tracking back.

Yup and they still have to be dragged there even with "The Greatest Team of All Time". Half the crowd doesn't get there until the first quarter is nearly over and then they leave early when they're winning (and losing in the finals). Horrible place to put a team. The MLS had been getting all of the decisions right lately until the 2nd NY team and this. Yup. The Dolphins will fill up now that they are 3-0 and when/if the season turns for worse it will be empty again. The Marlins have an awful following too. The UM Hurricanes football team are the only well supported team with consistent fan base but my god those are some awful people.
  15. This your fantasy lineup man? Ain't a fucking chance in hell this happens.

    Sunderland

So can anyone just do a quick tactic run down of Poyet and Di Matteo? Just curious. Since one article has him linked I'm now curious his style of football (or lack thereof)
  17. Gouffran seems to be getting his shots off better as well, he always seemed a split second too late which ended up with a block.
  18. He is a strong lad for his size, like. Knows how to use his body too. Far better than Cisse out of the box, that's not even really up for debate. I'm starting to wonder if Pardew had ANY input in the Cisse signing. He offers so little apart from shooting on sight. Would Pardew really have looked at him and thought he could use him as a central point of attack? I don't think anyone could have predicted how shocking he is in every department apart from shooting on sight tbh.

Miami is literally one of the worst sport supporting cities out there. The only reason the Heat get any fandom is b/c they won something and its cool to go to a Heat game. When Wade and LeBron go away one day, the team will go back to filling 50% of the seats and be an after-thought.
  20. Vs. Hull - Gouffran's link up play with Remy was 1,000x better than Cisse's and something we haven't seen for ages. Remy was leaving the ball and bombing forward and Gouffran was trying to pick him out first time in on goal. I really think we could be a much better team utilizing Gouffran's intelligence and general all-around play vs. that of Cisse's. Gouff's better pace would have had him getting to balls Cisse has missed out on in the box as well.
  21. Made me laugh. He looks a loose cannon too.
