How about trying to think IF the players were really tired at that moment? Mind I agree with you that if that's not due to triedness Pardews decision is the shittest I have ever seen. I still remember during the time of souness, we also tended to play brilliantly during the first half and complete shit during the second, and the reason is simple: the players were having very poor fitness level. Thus to me it isn't that strange that the players are hving fitness issues, AND THE MANAGER HAS TO BEAR FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS.

I honestly think the players are tired and that's the reason why Pardew opted a negative 2nd half. It nearly backfired, he admitted the fault, that's it. The real problem isn't about this decision, it is about fitness. The reason why we always play 45 mins good football is because the players can't do it. Fitness problem has been always a major issue under Pardew to be honest, which is partly due to lack of squad depth and partl due to his training.

I think some people here are even more negative than Pardew's tactics.

I think he did ok. Yes it is not a great performance but considering that spurs heavily relies on Townsend and walker to break down defense santon did well to limit them just a few crosses. Gouffran deserves huge credit as well

I can't understand the argument that because Ben arfa is great in attack he doesn't need to contribute in defense, especially when the latter one is a team work issue. I am not saying we should bench him forever because he is too talented to be on the bench. That said, I also cannot ignore the fact that Debuchy suddenly becomes world class defender once partner with Gouffran. Why couldn't Ben Arfa do at least 50% of defense work like gouffran did? he actually did it 2 years before, but not now. If pardew gives Ben arfa special privilege to be exempted from doing the defense work, what would the other players feel then? fucking pissed off for sure. Imagine you are gouffran and think yourself.

Let him go. He will never get playing time frequently and it is a waste of money to pay that much for a bench warmer. To those who is criticizing pardew, please answer, who should you drop from the starting eleven then?

No, I don't agree, that couldn't explains why we can perform that well "consistently" against Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea. We have good players but compare with them we are nothing. My take is we will never, never get a consistent series of results because of Pardew's style. He simply loves to play tactical game against the opponents, and he nearly did it every match. If he got it right we can get 3 points against any teams, but if he got it wrong we can also lose to any teams. It is just like gambling. All or nothing. We can either get a 5th finish or relegation and it is only depending on his luck. It is fucking crazy.

Today is probably the most depressing recent reaction to a result for me. Draw against Liverpool, beat Cardiff, beat Chelsea. With a cup game against Man City where we did pretty well and were just undone late on by their superstars. Then come into this thread and see page after page of abuse. Guess it shows how important the derby really is. We may as well close off the Pardew thread TBH, it's clear that everyone's opinion is totally set. No credit is coming his way now, and everyone will continue to play down every positive and go mental over every negative until he's eventually sacked. I guess it's fair enough if opinions are formed and set in stone, it's just a bit crazy how extreme and petty it has become. Pardew has to take some blame for that. The rest has to be split between Ashley and the fans.

I think Pardew's tactical sense isn't bad. In fact I think he is the best we have had since Sir Bobby. However he spent most of his time on disrupting opponent's game plan and didn't create a "style" for our own players. This creates huge inconsistency and we suffered a lot by losing to teams that we should never lose. In contrast, we always get good results against great teams because we disrupt their game plan. If he successfully makes one that suit our players, our results could be greatly improved. I cant see this happening though.

Williamson will only got exposed during counter attack. when we play more aggressive football he will have great trouble.
