  1. And decide that our poor owner was caught offguard by the whole thing. The poor guy obviously wanted to keep Carroll till he wanted more money. He wanted him out of the door man. We werent rejecting anything, it was all negotations & manipulation. Yeap, after submitting the transfer request. Not before, AFTER. No, he asked for the transfer request after we rejected the 2nd bid. Which happened after Ashley offered him his helicopter. Go read it again. You're being sold nonsense. Jayson, back the square one, do you think the club should bow down to Carroll's ridiculous demand? Ashley has decided that Carroll should be sold once helding the club to ransom (pretty clear, please) and rest, yes, is manipulation. What's wrong with that then? Ashley's trying his best to get the max money for the club (or himself, anyway) which is correct. Or you think Ashley should tell Carroll "My dear son, you shouldn't do that, no next time ok?" and let Carroll to create troubles within the team? Helding the club to ransom is unacceptable at any case. Carroll's asking for a new contract AFTER Liverpool made the bid. FFS.
  2. he has backed up what Pards said... because if you are in talks about a proper new deal its not with your manager its with your Chairman. Yep. In fact the story is quite clear now.
  3. Carroll said: “I was in talks about a new contract and talking to the gaffer about that." OK, end of story. Really. That's it.
  4. I think it's £35m + 25% sell on clause Bloody hell. That's really close to Torres' valuation. No its not. If AC flops & he is dumped for £8million we get £2 million. If this 25% is off any profit made on the fee Liverpool paid he is going to be a legend & only Barca, Real Madrid & Man City will be able to afford him. Who is saying we have 25% sell on anyway? I would imagine most of the clauses are linked to goals & CL qualification. Even Bent got a valuation of 18m nowadays. I really doubt his next transfer would be less than 10m.
  5. Cannot deny this. That's the price Ashley gotta paid for his past action.
  6. I think it's £35m + 25% sell on clause Bloody hell. That's really close to Torres' valuation.
  7. Just want to know, it's the 25% sell on clause + 35m cash, or a total value of 35m including both the clause and an unknown amount of cash? If it's the former one, jesus. Liverpool is really insane.
  8. We should buy him back again and get 25% lol 25% discounted price?
  9. Jayson, 35m is a ridiculous offer. Look at Carroll's record. 34 career goals so far. Start to be prolific just 6 months ago (he is not prolific last year), is "optimistically expected" to be a regular international player, has some personal problems, is far from a complete product. He is fxxking valuable for us, I know, but 35m is too much for a player who has relatively high risk not fulfilling his potential. The key point is whether 35m is a ridiculous offer. If you honestly think Carroll is not for sale at any price, then ok, you can continue to bash Ashley. My stand is if Ashley did give Carroll a choice, then he is doing "what a normal person should do".
  10. My thought as well. I think 35m is a ridiculous offer and Ashley cannot turn it down. Therefore he left the decision to Carroll. That's probably what Carroll said "he told me to go". Bullshit. If Ashley did want to sell Carroll or Carroll did not want to leave us, he would not make the transfer request. Unless his agent was pushing it? AC is a pretty young lad, if his agent is pushing him one way (think of the rise he'll get) it would be quite easy for AC to perceive that as the club pushing him.. I dunno, I want to have some skerrick of sympathy for him. Could be as well. It's the best interest for Carroll's agent to make the deal. I am not that devastated for the loss of Carroll. 35m is the best price we could get from him. I mean, I don't think he will stay with us forever, and he will likely to ask for a transfer within 2-3 years. I doubt whether we could get that much if he let the public know he wants to leave.

  12. Get over it. Use the money wisely and invest on our future. It is not the end of the world.
  13. Chelsea doing 2 mega deal during the last minute? Any chance that the Torres bid's broken down?
  14. Interesting. Chelsea won't held out 75m total for Luiz and Torres at the same time right?
  15. If Chris's quote from his friend's correct, the deal's done a lot earlier.
  16. "Carroll doesn't mind staying or leaving, especailly since he'll be getting a massive and instant raise" That's enough. Why can't people understand "Carroll wants to leave us" is the most essential elements for the deal and the request?
  17. It would be class if Liverpool sold Torres without getting Carroll from us. That's a massive fuck-up and they will not qualify for any European competition.
  18. 40m? They will be massively fucked if Carroll's turn out a bust. I can see that happening.
  19. No big deal. Play Vukcic then.
